Pond House accepts pets and welcomes families with the guidance typical of a B&B.; Kitchen plaque jokes, "B&B;: You make the beds and you make the breakfast".
Located near Craigville beach and Four Seas (our favorite ice cream place -- and, there is a lot of good ice cream on the Cape), this home is between exits, 5 and 6 on Route 6. It's not luxury, but it isn't booked that way either. It is clean and well-kept (especially given that they allow pets). It is comfortable. The high ceiling in the family room, which is attached to the dining area and kitchen in a relatively open L-shaped floor-plan, makes it feel larger than the square-footage. The "downstairs" bedroom is actually on the main floor of the home with the family-room/kitchen/dining area. There is a full bath on this floor as well.
The upstairs rooms (master bedroom with it's own small balcony) and room across the hallway (in the fashion of what realtors here call a "Cape-style" home). Full-bath on this level is shared by master and kids room (bunk beds).
The pond that is through the woods was great fun for our dog to run around -- very small and evaporating to some degree, but still visible through the trees when we were there in august. Our dog is not a swimmer, so I can't tell you whether this would be an option at this house.
The owner provided lots of tourist guidance. The family/living room had a map book of the Cape for your use in finding your way around the Cape, a guide book, and lots of tourist information (although the information center was just around the corner).
The house is at the end of a cul-de-sac and the neighborhood was lovely for walking our dog (although, no sidewalks) -- streets were very quiet, so the lack of sidewalks didn't feel like any kind of a safety problem.
Washer/dryer in the basement came in handy. There were a couple of small beach chairs and boogie boards and sand toys in the basement, too. -

I was a returning renter of this cottage. The cottage is well set up and equipped. It's setting is very private in a residential neighborhood on a cul-de-sac. Lots of birds in the woods surrounding the house and bull frogs in the pond below. Very quiet. Easy access to the beach. Bob Kaufman is a great property manager. So many nice touches -- games and videos for kids, good sound system, coffee set ups and even dog biscuits. I've spent several happy weeks there over the past 4 years and look forward to future vacations at the Pond House.

My family and I spent a week during the past two summers at the Pond House in Centerville. This is an absolutely lovely, spacious home complete with everything you would need. There were three bedrooms, a spacious kitchen that was well-supplied, a nice living room, and a huge back deck which we spent most of our time enjoying the great outdoors! There is also a full basement with washer and dryer. Bob was a very gracious and informative host. He was easily available by phone when we had a question and offered very good recommendations for dining, etc. Quite honestly, we took out our meals and enjoyed eating them out on our deck. There is also a gas grill, too! Lovely place in a nice, quiet neighborhood that we liked walking around with our dog. Would go there again!
