Sue is the perfect 'landlady', welcoming on arrival but not intrusive. The gite was very well equipped, comfortable, clean and tastefully furnished.
The local towns give a much better view of typical France rather than those more usually listed on the tourist trail with a range of good restaurants at reasonable prices.
The trip to the etang (lake) was lovely!
The whole experience was good - wish I could have stayed longer!

Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, USAA stay at La Miniere was absolutely delightful in every way!
Left on 01/25/2012 for a stay in October 2011
Our stay at La Miniere was the perfect introduction into the French countryside. The service was outstanding in all respects. Sue Sayles is the ultimate hostess. The Gite is absolutely beautiful and very comfortable. It is located in a small farm village so it is very quiet and peaceful with a lovely garden, yet conveniently located near larger villages. Everything about our stay at La Miniere was wonderful, but the very best part was how comfortable and welcomed Sue Sayles made us feel. The best part of any vacation is the people you meet along the way.

Left on 11/16/2011 for a stay in October 2011
LaMiniere Gite exceeded my expectations. The service was friendly, helpful, and personalized with every question (sites in the area, adjusting rental cars at next stops, etc.) answered to my satisfaction. The home was spotless and well equipped. The location offers a wide assortment of sites for visitors from Roman ruins, to coffee shops, and quaint villages. We toured for 4 days and never ran out of delightful things to do. I can't wait to return!

Host is delightful, nothing was too much trouble and everything in the house was explained well. The gite was as we had expected it to be. We loved the space it gave us, especially upstairs. The living area had everthing we needed. Plenty of space to enjoy in the gite's grounds as well. We couldn't have asked for more. The area around the gite is full of interesting places to visit I had not expected to find this amount of history, nature and culture in thie area. In the past we have always driven straight past it on our way somewhere else. It now is an area we want to visit and see more of.

La Miniere gite is a great place to stay, in the heart of the French countryside. The gite is spotlessly clean, well maintained and has all modern amenities and everything you need to feel like home from home, including UK digital TV. Local amenities are also within easy reach ( a short car journey). Lots of beautiful places nearby to see including La Roche Posay (spa town), the Brenne national park, and the lovely town of argenton-sur-Creuse. Easily reachable from Limoges airport and the perfect place to stay in order to explore the Indre region of France.

La Miniere Gite provides an ideal base for exploring la Brenne, an area of outstanding beauty and character. The accommodation is extremely comfortable with great thought having been given to the needs of visitors. The warmest of welcomes was provided and detailed advice and support given to ensure every opportunity was taken to access the unspoiled hinterland.A car is essential to make the most of a visit to this little gem.

The facilities in the Gite were great. Clean and tidy with a high standard of comfort, to relax and provide everything you would need for your stay. The outside area with the seating and recliners was just the perfect way of enjoying the warm sun in the late afternoon.
Situated in a small hamlet the area was quiet yet perfectly located for travelling to lots of historical towns and villages. Close to the motorway gave easy access to all directions.
Sue was a perfect host making us feel more like guests than customers with her hospitality as well as extended knowledge of the area and places to visit.
Overall a perfect retreat to explore France and recharge the batteries. -

La Miniere Gite is an ideal holiday base for exploring the Indre and Creuse regions in the heart of France.
The gite is immaculate and so well equipped, it feels like home from home - only with plenty of added sunshine!
Nothing is too much trouble for owner Sue and we would recommend her gite to anyone.

Left on 07/28/2011 for a stay in November 2010
We travelled down to La Miniere in early November for a break away with friends. We were warmly met by Sue and on arrival had tea and cakes. The gite was lovely and clean with complementary goodies in the fridge. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable, ideal for two couples. In the living area were all the facilities you need along with lots of information about the area. Outside is off road parking, a garden, patio and bbq.
The location is very quiet, a real lost in France experience. The nearest village, Prissac, is only 3 miles away and has most basic requirements. A trip a little further in the opposite direction finds you in St Benoit-du Sault. Here you can find everything you would need including supermarket, butchers, bakers etc. A walk around this old town is a must.
The whole area has a real charm; very close to the Brenne Forest with lots of picturesque small towns and villages to explore.
We will be going back and would recommend anyone who wants a quiet break away in the countryside. -

The Gite is in a very rural setting in a converted barn attached to the owner's home. There is a separate garden and gravel patio with furniture. The upstairs is very comfortable with many luxury extras and new and well equipped bedrooms/bathroom etc. Downstairs is quite small and compact with kitchenette, dining area and lounge in one room but all new, clean and attractive + many books, CDs, magazines etc to make you feel at home.

Left on 07/25/2011 for a stay in June 2011
On the southern edge of the beautiful Brenne National Park, we found La Miniere to be a delightful hideaway, within easy reach of argenton Sur Creuse, and only an hour's drive from Limoges airport. The two bedroom gite is luxuriously comfortable, and the welcome and hospitality second to none. It is equipped with everything you could need, and more, including a suntrap garden and lots of peace and quiet. It is an ideal place to relax and regenerate. If you want to be energetic there are lots of places to visit and things to do within easy reach by car, even a (long) day trip to Paris is possible by train. Definitely somewhere to return to again and again.

Left on 07/23/2011 for a stay in August 2010
Whatever the occasion of your stay you will find that the gite is furnished to a very high standard. It's in an idillic location, a typical French Village for a complete @get a way from all' stay. The garden is a very good size, kept immaculately to while away the hours re-charging the batteries. A great location to sight see the local historical towns and chateaux.
I hope you enjoy the experience of central France.
