MelbourneYour very own "home away from home" in beautiful Cernobbio
Left on 04/11/2013 for a stay in April 2013
The apartment is located in Cernobbio, a beautiful lakeside village. The apartment is modern, spacious and bright, spotlessly clean and located close to authentic Italian delis, cafes and restaurants. The apartment is also very well heated. We look forward to returning here again and again.

Tweed HeadsFantastic location! Beautiful village, we'll be back.
Left on 03/22/2013 for a stay in October 2012
Four of us (2 couples) stayed in this lovely Cernobbio apartment for a week. Everything you need is at your doorstep but it's fun to venture around the lake to visit other villages. The ferry is the easiest and most convenient mode of transport. The ferry stop is a mere 5 mins walk from the apartment. Cernobbio is one of the prettiest villages around the lake although we never went past Bellagio ( a must see!)Ruth, who greeted us, showed us around the apartment then took us on a walking tour of the local food stores and restaurants. It was so informative and helpful. Ruth was absolutely fantastic and very obliging. Day tripping to places like Milan and Lugano (Switzerland) is easy by train. We will definitely return and explore more of the area. If you like watching tv at night, perhaps bring along some dvd's, there is a small collection (thankyou!) but the tv stations are Italian and not in English. But who wants to watch tv when there's so many things to see and do.
Apartment was very clean with modern appliances. Careful using too many appliances at once, you can trip the power. Very quiet area yet only 2 ferry stops to Como, the main town where there are many restaurants, cafes, shops.
Thankyou for a lovely holiday and we recommend this apartment to families, couples, small groups. -

We have friends living in Cernobbio and come to visit them every year. This is the first time we have stayed in this property; previously we have stayed in hotels in the area. We had a fantastic time. The location is brilliant if you want to be close to all the amenities in Cernobbio. We have 2 young children and they settled in really quickly and slept really well. We often ate outside on the little balcony in the evening, while the children were sleeping and found everything we needed was available. There are also great places to take the kids out to eat in the evening and they had even provided a local babysitter's details, so that we were able to enjoy a night out on our own. We had a thoroughly enjoyable time.

Left on 08/13/2012 for a stay in May 2012
We stayed in this delightful apartment in May 2012 and thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. The booking process was seamless, the information provided about getting to the apartment and what to expect was fantastic, and was representative of the stay we had there. The apartment was spotless and it was really centrally located in the lovely village of Cernobbio. There was a great folder of information within the apartment full of local knowledge of places to see, restaurants to visit and things to do, all of which made us feel a bit like locals, if only for a little while (unfortunately). I can't recommend this apartment highly enough - it was modern, large enough for a family if you needed it, the kitchen and wifi facilities were great and the location, hard to beat!

Left on 01/16/2012 for a stay in October 2011
The apartment was spotlessly clean with everything & more of what we needed for our 1 week stay. I loved how the cupboard was stocked with a few essentials...like sugar, salt & pepper, oil etc. The location was perfect & Cernobbio was an idea choice for having a 1 year old. A lot of the other little villages around the lake are quite hilly with lots of steps making it hard work with a pram.
My husband had thought he had died & gone to heaven. With 2 fantastic coffee shops within a stone's throw of the apartment. We made daily trips to feed the ducks, parks & carousel, stopping off at the ice creamery on the way home.
It was such a pleasure having a lovely, recommended babysitter. We ended up using Laura twice. We visited Harry's which was probably the best meal/service we have had in a long time & the Grotto. Which was really nice as well. Your recommendations for the little deli & bread shop were greatly appreciated too. We visited them daily & got addicted to prosciutto & gorgonzola.
I could just keep on writing...it was just a lovely, relaxing week. Your recommendations took a lot of stress & thought out of what to do & where to go. We didn't have one bad meal/service. Everything tasted homemade & was served with that Italian attitude of Care for the food. We were probably a little shocked by how friendly the people were. Cara was getting her little cheeks squeezed daily & had got the "Ciao Ciao” wave sorted by day 3!
Ruth who greeted us when we arrived was lovely too. She also gave us a few helpful tips about where to go. We had a little problem connecting to the internet, something to do with the Wifi/modem when we arrived but Ruth was right on it & got it fixed up that day. Very attentive.
If we have the luxury of visiting Lake Como in the future we won't hesitate to stay here again.

We stayed in this apartment for two weeks with our young children and found it perfect for our needs. The apartment is bright, comfortable, clean and surprisingly spacious. Its location in the centre of Cernobbio is ideal and provides a great base from which to explore beautiful Lake Como and its surrounds. The owners and caretaker are extremely helpful and pleasant to deal with. We would be very happy to return.

I loved Cernobbio and your apartment was perfect! We made the most of the week with plenty of trips on the lake, walks, a trip up the funicular, a trip to Lugarno and Como of course and some great meals down on the waterfront. We loved your favourite cafe and almost felt like regulars. Ruth was great!!! It was all wonderful and I'd go back in a heart beat!!

Sydney, AustraliaWhat a wonderful place!
Left on 10/11/2011 for a stay in August 2011
We stayed there for 4 nights (husband and two 20 year old boys) and it was absolutely fantastic! The apartment was great - very comfortable and such a great location in Cernobbio. Excellent facilities, including a washing machine, dryer, dishwasher and all the things you need for cooking but restaurants are only a very short 2 minute walk away as well as small grocery store, bakery, coffee shops, and one of the best gelato shops in Italy and a most amazing beautiful shoe shop! The lake too is only a 3 minute walk away and you can hire speed boats at the marina. Cernobbio is so full of character and very close to Como and Milan so easy to get to, yet Cernobbio has a certain charm that the other more robust and more touristy places don't have (eg, Bellagio, Menaggio). I really felt like I was living in an Italian lakeside village and not a city relying on the tourist trade.
The centuries old beautiful Villa D' Este is close by (5 min walk). After each day of walking, swimming and discovering Lake Como, it was just lovely coming back to the apartment that we often called "home". A lovely sofa that becomes a bed if needed and open plan living areas meant it was a very sociable apartment. There was a proper shower and not a bath/shower (like so many places in Europe). Overall we had a fabulous time and recommend this apartment to anyone who travels to Lake Como and I really feel Cernobbio is the best place to stay. Our only regret is that we stayed 4 nights and not longer!Response from Ingrid Roepers - 10/17/2011

Our 1 week holiday at Cernobbio was absolutley amasing. The apartment was extremely modern and spacious and all the luxuries of home and more. Fantastic position for all activities, restuarants, bars and of course the Lake. We did have a car but did not need it very often ( Only to go visit "George" for a coffee). We also had an amazing few hours on a speed boat which we rented and that was a real highlight. Do it dont be frightened you will not regret it.
A must holiday for all at least once in your life.
Thanks Ingrid and Family for the oportunity to share your beautiful home and the ever most beautiful Lake Como.

The apartment is simply great! Very well restyled with modern furniture. We really felt home!
Inside the apartment there is everything you need to live in, and also a lot of material with info and suggestions on what to visit / where to eat / where to find everything for everyday life. The welcoming was perfect and the apartment has a great location.
We loved it and we hope to come back soon!
The only issue if you are there for business like us is that you should remember to ask for a proper receipt and you will have it scanned from australia.
In any case we strongly recommend this location! -

Karlsruhe, GermanyBeautiful apartment in a lovely part of the world
Left on 03/14/2011 for a stay in March 2011
We, four adults and two children (5 and 3), stayed at the apartment for five days at the beginning of March. We were curious to find out whether it could live up to the reviews on here...and it did!
The apartment itself has been lovingly refurbished and is very comfortable. We ate in every evening and the two "cooks? both agreed that the kitchen had everything that was needed. There are some nice little touches in the apartment, such as the framed photos of the villas on the walls, and a number of great extras (such as satellite TV,many Dvds that can be watched, a good stereo system).
We were met by Ruth, who was as good and friendly as all the reviews say she is. The welcome brochure in the flat is outstanding - so much information provided by the owners, such as where to eat out, where to buy groceries, where to go on a day trip, etc. It was a great help.
We bought food and drink from the village itself (La Piazetta, Panificio, and a "hole-in-the-wall? bakery recommended by Ruth!) as well as from the supermarket Benet (a 15 minute walk away). The home-made pasta from Piazetta and Panificio was brilliant.
We had lunch at Osteria Beuc (a wonderful experience), ordered take-away pizzas at Tom and Jerry?s (the name put us off - surely Pizzeria Lago or something similar would have been better! - but the pizzas were excellent), and took trips to Como and Torno (lunch at Nostradamus in Como, which we stumbled upon by accident, but which has justifiably got great reviews on this site; lunch at Hotel Restaurant Vapore in Torno, which was stunning). We enjoyed a breakfast of brioche con marmelata and espresso in Poletti - it has to be experienced to be believed. One of the best espressos (if not the best) I?ve ever tasted, and the brioche was incredible (even for myself, who has not got a sweet tooth).
All in all, a fantastic holiday in a lovely apartment in a great part of the world! Highly recommended.

We had the pleasure of staying in this wonderful apartment from 27 Dec 2010 to 1st Jan 2011. From stepping off the plane in Milan to our departure it was first class all the way! We were so sad to leave, however we had further holiday plans in Tuscany - but next time will definitely stay for much longer in this comfortable, beautifully positioned apartment. Cernobbio rocks!! Cant wait to return. Thank you Ingrid for all the help and making our holiday superb!

My husband, teenage son and I stayed in this spacious and well-equipped apartment for a week. The location is great. Cernobbio is a pretty small town and the apartment is in its centre one minute from the beautiful piazza. Como is easily accessed by bus or boat. I highly recommend taking the boat to Como as it's only 2 stops away and such a picturesque ride. It was a pleasure dealing with the apartment owners as well as the main contact person in Cernobbio who took care of all our needs. I highly recommend this apartment and will definitely rent it again should we return for another visit.

The appartment is magical and Ingrid has thought of everything that a traveller may need, we found it to be in a perfect location, the best coffee in Italy is just across the road, not to mention the Gelato shop. Cernobbio has become our favourite place in the world after our stay and we will definatley be returning. The appartment is very modern and clean and lots of room even with three kids. Well done Ingrid, after staying in many appartments throughout europe this is definatley our favourite.

What a wonderful apartment! It's spacious, clean, and just a block from the pier from which you catch the ferry. Ingrid has a book of all kinds of things to do nearby and along the lake ... she made our stay effortless. The apartment is easily big enough for a family but cozy enough for two with all the amenities. I cannot say enough about how great this place is! We will definitely return!

Left on 10/02/2010 for a stay in September 2010
We stayed for a week in September. Booking was straightforward and secure.
We were met at the airport by a prearranged driver and taken to the apartment. Even though we arrived late (past 11pm), we were met by Ruth, who was really helpful and had even bought us some milk (in case our daughter was thirsty!). She showed us round the apartment and then brought us to Hotel Centrale to eat pizza. She even booked a restaurant in Torno for my wife's birthday the next day.
The apartment was spacious, with two large bedrooms and bathroom, a large living area with dining table, sofa and kitchen. You could tell that the owners had lived there and taken great pride in the place; there were all the mod cons you would expect in your home and more, including loads of kitchen utensils I don't even have in my own home!
My daughter loved it so much, than she kept running up and down the apartment saying "I love our new house!"
The apartment has no lake view, but this doesn't matter as you are only 5 minutes away from the lakeside pedestrian area and ferry stop. For those with children, the apartment is near to two playgrounds and three gelati shops... Cernobbio is perfect as it is near Como, but far less touristy than Bellagio or Tremezzo.
I could continue to write how perfect the place was, but perhaps it is better to quote my daughter, who since our return has been saying "Mummy, buy a house in Lake Como." -

We discovered that apartments that are used by the owners,as this one is, are equipped with everything you could possibly need, including a compendium of local infomation. It's a good idea to take your laptop, as the apartment has an internet connection and the nearest internet cafe is in Como. A local person, Ruth, is there on arrival to meet you, get you settled and offer friendly advice. The location is so convenient, just a short walk to the ferry which is only two stops from Como. Cernobbio is the best village!

Left on 07/05/2010 for a stay in June 2010
From the moment I found the website for this apartment I was determined to book and was delighted that the week I wanted was the only week available in June- meant to be! I'm not surprised that it is popular given that the service I received from the owners, in terms of ease of booking and information regarding access and local knowledge, was excellent.
The apartment itself is very well appointed, bright, very clean and very comfortable. Whether you are a single, a couple or a young family it provides everything you could need or want - you immediately make yourself at home.
The apartment was centrally located, access to cafes, bars, restaurants, the ferry was literally only minutes away.
I loved the layout and light in the apartment and the fabulous directory of information created by the apartment owner - a great resource for all manner of activities - gave you the 'locals perspective' and made the trip so much richer in experience.
I am looking forward to returning hopefully in the not too distant future! -

Stayed at many wonderful places during our 4 week Italian vacation but this was certainly one of the best. Booking and planning our stay was a breeze. The owners answered all our querries quickly and gave extensive recommendations on restaurants, where to go, transport etc plus there was an amazing welcome book full of information in the apartment. The location was perfect - the lake, ferry, shops, deli, great restaurants all within a few minutes walk. So easy to explore the magnificent Lake Como and all the gorgeous villages with the Ferry almost at your doorstep. Apartment was spotlessly clean, well appointed, had comfy beds, internet for the laptop and was ideal for a family. A very helpful local lady was also on hand to open up and answer any other questions. Can't wait to go back, loved Cernobbio,-so much to see and do.

I stayed at the Cernobbio apartment for a week with my husband and my mother (who booked the apartment over the internet). Staying there was one of the highlights of our holiday. The apartment is only a 5 minute walk to Lake Como and the ferry port. There are many shops and cafes, also within easy walking distance. We were met on arrival by a gorgeous woman who took us to the apartment, then to a shopping centre to buy our food supplies for the week (there are also small shops nearby to buy food provisions but for a big shop the supermarket was more economical). The apartment is spotlessly clean, secure, and very comfortable. We would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to friends, family, and anyone else who visits beautiful Cernobbio. The only thing the village of Cernobbio doesn't have is an internet cafe. The apartment, however, has a Wi Fi connection, so take your laptop with you!

The apartment is absolutely beautiful. It is spotless, modern, warm and very welcoming. It has all the conveniences that you need. We were there at Christmas time and the owner even put up a Christmas tree for us, it was a wonderful touch.
The location is centrally located to shops, lake and other sites. We had a car so we could move around everywhere, but for those who don't, the ferry is a 5 minute walk and within 10 minutes you are in Como and from there you can go pretty much everywhere else.
Loved our stay, we will definetely rent this apartment again and would recommend it to anyone.
