Description from the owner

Casa Pacifica B&B; has been providing a magical setting for its guests for the last ten years. Hostess, Susana, arrived in Chacala 13 years ago. She built Casa Pacifica and decorated it using treasures from her Hawaii past, along with family heirlooms and Mexican artifacts. Casa Pacifica is set overlooking Chacalilla Bay, surrounded on all sides by 3000 acres of tropical, virgin jungle. The B&B; has three rooms, each with its own theme. The Blue Hawaii Room ($65/per night) is a blend of Hawaii and Mexico. The Sun Room ($65/per night) is all about hues of colors of the sun. The Galeria del Mar (Gallery of the Sea) ($55/per night) is a g...Read more

Our 9-day stay at Casa Pacifica was wonderful and we plan to return often. The owner lives on site, is super nice, covering all guests needs, and also leaves you alone to enjoy the wonderful facilities and view. Beach access is an easy walk and a very beautiful site.

    Beautiful Room

Left on 11/14/2011 for a stay in January 2010

Chacala is a beautiful, safe, secluded and somewhat untouched little fishing village, located 1 1/2 hours north of Puerto Vallarta. Part of it is on a white, pristine cove of beach and part is higher up, overlooking the Pacific. Casa Pacifica gives you tree covered, hillside experience of overlooking the ocean with an easy walk down to the beach. This is a beautiful, 2 story house, built on a hillside of jungle. Susana, the owner lives upstairs in the house and rents the two rooms below. The entrance to the front of the house is on the upper side of the hill with the private entrances to the rooms on the lower, back side of the house. Each room has a private entrance and gives a sense of privacy. Each has a bathroom with shower and a small kitchenette. One of the rooms has a covered patio entrance. There is not really an ocean view from inside the rooms but you can step a few feet outside and look down to the ocean. The rooms are nicely decorated, very clean and well kept and spacious enough to include a table and chairs. It is quiet and peaceful there, even though in the house is a small, one room real estate business, so cars occasionally come and go on the driveway on the front side of the house. Since the room entrances are on the down side of the hill, in the back of the house, they face the opposite direction and thus create a sense of privacy. On the third floor, above the house and accessible from outside stairs, is a lovely, covered patio cafe, where you can purchase an american style breakfast from a nice menu of choices. The restaurant serves only breakfast, is open to the public and is a gathering place for tourists longing for an american cup of coffee and some conversation in the morning. Susana is the owner -- warm and gracious, full of information and very helpful. At the restaurant, internet and phone access is available for a fee. You can sit upstairs in the cool morning breezes and trade travel stories with others who are staying in Chacala while enjoying the view of the ocean, which is spectacular. Susana has since built a separate room down the hillside from the original two rooms. It is an interesting work of art unto itself, with beautiful details and unusual touches. There are several choices of places to stay in Chacala. Casa Pacifica offers tasteful, reasonably priced rooms with many of the kinds of amenities americans find appealing. If you're thinking of a less expensive, more authentic Mexican experience with interaction with the locals, try the Techos. Two of our favorites are Concha's Techos and Casa aurora. Both are very clean, comfortable and have free wi-fi. Some rooms have outdoor, palapa covered kitchens and living spaces with ocean views. This is the charmingly Mexican version of a place to stay. The best part is you get to meet Concha and aurora. You'll want to take them home with you.

    rest and beauty

Staying here was a wonderful surprise find. Extraordinary hospitality. Located off on the edge of town with a distant view of the water amidst palms, flowers and jungle intermixed. Rooms are pretty, with exposed local methods of masonry vaulting, and two sides of window openings. Furniture is attractive, sitting areas well planned, very natural for easy living. Bath is also a happy place. Memories linger.

    Paradise in Chacala

Left on 02/06/2010 for a stay in January 2010

We have stayed at Casa Pacifica 2 times. This year we stayed in the Blue Hawaii
suite for 2 weeks. The suite was impeccably clean and quiet and the outdoor
sitting areas were lovely. The optional breakfasts served in the rooftop cafe
were a tremendous value and made to order. The view over the jungle canopy
to the bay with sightings of humpback whales breaching is the perfect way to
start one's day. Susanna is a terrific host, able to supply visitors with all the
information they could want. The location was ideal for us - a short walk
through the village to the beach and far enough from the beach to offer
tranquility! We look forward to many return visits.

    Exquisite tropical experience

Left on 02/04/2010 for a stay in January 2010

We enjoyed our stay at Casa Pacifica immensely! The quiet, private, flower-filled setting was so lovely. As a couple, we loved the Galleria for it's privacy, the generous sized room and gorgeous stone shower and all the other wonderful unique architectural touches. After my husband returned home, I moved to the Sun Suite and really enjoyed that room as well. It has a lovely bright energy to it and the furnishings and accessories were delightful. Oh, yes, the breakfasts at the Mauna Kea restaurant upstairs were just great, the view spectacular, and because the restaurant was only open between 8 and 10 am, the privacy and quiet of the property was maintained.
