Atlanta, GAA beautiful villa, an ideal spot, nothing could have been better
Left on 05/12/2013 for a stay in May 2013
Eight of us came to this beautiful villa for our first trip to Turks & Caicos. The food and drinks were a bit expensive on the island, but the house and its amenities made up for this. We enjoyed everything about this wonderful villa, especially the fantastic views from all rooms, and the exquisite pool area and dock. It was nice to have the music available around the pool and a selection of movies for the late night crowd. The sunsets lived up to our expectations, and that beautiful aqua-blue, warm water exceeded our expectations. We were pleased with the visit we received explaining the various home features, suggestions for restaurants, island spots suggested to visit, and more. We also thought the cleaning crew did a fantastic job during the mid-week cleaning. The Scuba Diving on French Cay was wonderful. The food everywhere we dined was very good to superb. We hope to visit your lovely home again some day!

This house was the perfect paradise with everything you would ever need and more. The location does not get better then this. We sat on the dock everyday enjoying the views and the fish that you can see crystal clear in the water. You can walk thru the water to get to Taylor Bay just around the corner. Taylor bay is Turks and Caicos best kept secret. The kitchen was fully stocked with every amenity you needed. It is a great house for four people or 10 people, it would be comfortable no matter what because of it size. The pool was like a jacuzzi temperature. There are quality floats for the ocean or pool. The lighting at night is perfect, we had a 3ft fish that visited every night not sure what is was but we named him George. We did not have a bad meal anywhere on the island. Go to the the conch shack on Thursday night for some local music. Brasi's right down the street is great food. Tiki hut in turtle cove marina has good food. We went on a fishing charter paradise tours was awesome!!! We caught Wahoo, Mahi Mahi's and Tuna. When we got back to the dock, they cleaned the fish and we had tiki hut prepare us all the different fish different ways, awesome. They charged us $15 a person to cook all that fish. Island Vibes with Shawn is a great snorkeling trip. Make sure to ask for Shawn. We rented a car thru Grace Bay Rentals was reasonable prices with no hassle. The casino is a rinky dink place but something to do at night. The hardest part of the trip was seeing all the stray dogs. We must of spent $200 of dog food and treats while we were there, we thru it out the windows like newspapers. There is a group cal Tcspca there that does a wonderful job placing the dogs in us and Canada, Consider a donation to them to help the population also get spayed and neutered. They call the dogs Potcakes, read the story about it in the local magazines. There is a stray cat that is at the house, the notes from previous guests say to please feed the cat, that's up to you I guess. We have already booked our trip back next year, can't wait!!!

Dallas, TXGreat House for Big Group or Family Wanting Seclusion
Left on 06/13/2012 for a stay in June 2012
My wife, 3 kids, and her parents stayed at Sunset Point Villa the first week of June. Upon our flight arriving, a representative from the villa greeted us at the airport to lead us to the villa. When we arrived, there was another villa representative there to show up everything in the house, explain how everything works, and just basically get us situated. Everything in the house looked great. They even had bags of chips, fruit, and a bottle of rum, and beer for us, which was a nice touch. There was another party that just left that morning, so the maids were just finishing up cleaning. I think they rushed things a bit too much. My baby is crawling and in about 10 minutes, his hands, feet, and knees were literally black. The maids did not clean the floors in the kitchen or living room, so they had to come back to do that.
The villa has a few things to get you started. There is one roll of paper towels and they do provide soap and shampoo in the bathrooms. There is no dish soap though and once you're done with those paper towels, you buy the rest. There are some condiments, seasonings, spices, etc. left from previous guests. If you plan to cook at the house, I would strongly suggest bringing some of these things from home as everything at the grocery stores in Provo are very expensive. I actually brought about 7 pounds of frozen prime steaks from home along with a little bag of seasonings. Also, I brought about $50 worth of fine cheeses which would probably cost 3 times that amount in Provo assuming I could even find them. We also brought plenty of dry snacks, granola bars, etc for the kids. All of this didn't take up too much space in my large suitcase. I also brought 2 bottles of wine and 2 bottles of Crown from duty free. We bought everything else at the Graceway IGa, which is a nice grocery store, just expensive. We bought more wine at The Wine Cellar, which is by far the best liquor store on the island.
Overall the house is very nice. The kitchen is fully furnished - more so than other home rentals we've been at. While there is every piece you'll need, it is not very good quality cookware or cutlery (understandable since most people don't properly take care of these things. There's an indoor dining table and also a table poolside for dining.
The house is very nicely equipped with TVs with us channels, there are stereos with iPod docks, DVD library, ping pong table, pool toys, beach chairs, snorkeling gear, etc. The landscaping out front is incredible. There's also a nice gas grill, covered parking, and an electronic gate a the front of the driveway.
There's a large basement downstairs in the main house which is good for kids playing or watching movies. The bedroom upstairs is quite big; big enough for us to put our baby's crib in there with us. The other 3 rooms are in the detached part of the house. Plenty of space- could accommodate 10-12 easily. Our bed was comfortable and the linens/towels are plentiful. Each room has it's own bathroom, too. Lots of privacy for each room. Also, there's a safe and alarm system if you want to use it.
The backyard is awesome. You overlook the bay and the pool is great. There's a ladder that leads you right into the water. It's pretty easy to swim right over to Taylor Beach. Or you can walk there in just a couple of minutes. It'd be a pretty good swim, but you could also swim to Sapodilla Bay, too. There's a nice 2-story deck with plenty of seating. Those 2 beaches are beautiful with almost nobody else there and shallow clear, calm water. Really incredible.
This house is on the southwest end of the island away from almost everything, so you'll need a car. The good thing is you can be over at Grace Bay where IGa and most of the restaurants are in 15 minutes. It's great being so secluded. We really felt like we had that part of the island all to ourselves.
We really enjoyed our trip, but there were several hiccups that should have been avoided by the property management. Our biggest complaint was with the air conditioning. We are from Texas and deal with hot temperatures 7 months out of the year. Temps during our stay were in the low to mid 90s with very high humidity, so running aC was necessary. They are very upfront with you that you get a $100 credit for the aC and that anything over that is charged $0.50 per kw hour (about 4-5 times the cost for us at home). No problem there...we understood that it would cost us an additional $200-$300 to run the aC for the week. We tried opening the windows and running the fans, but it was way too hot for a baby and a couple of seniors, so we opted for running the aC.
Here's where the problems began. The villa uses little window units to cool the place. The living room window units didn't work at all, so an aC tech came to fix the problem on day 1. Even with the aC running, those puny units could not adequately cool the big living room with 20-foot ceilings with all glass doors and windows facing the hot west afternoon sun. Very inadequate units. Then, one of the units quit working again the next morning. Again, the aC guy came out to fix it. Then, one of the units dripped a ton of condensation water the entire time we were there. We constantly had to change out towels to collect the water. Not exactly what you'd expect to be doing when paying that much for a place. Simply put, the aC needs to be upgraded.
The 3rd day, the internet didn't work at all. I could tell the property manager didn't want to deal with this, but we paid for internet and I wanted it fixed. Next, you get one midweek maid cleaning. We agreed on Wednesday at 1:00, so we left the house and came back at 5:00...to a dirty house. So, I had to call again to find out what happened. Property manager totally forgot. Pretty unacceptable. We purposely left the house for 4 hours to avoid having the maids around while we were at the house. Now we were back and had to have the maids cleaning while were at the house. We did get a good cleaning and the property manager tried to make up for her error by waiving the overages on the aC bill.
Even with those gaffes, we really liked the house except for the poor quality of the aC units. It's a perfect place for extended family or multi-family trips. You could easily just hang out near the house the majority of the trip. Also, don't forget sunscreen and bug spray. -

We just returned from an amazing week at this villa. We had three families with three children, and we had the time of our lives! There was plenty room and the views and the pool deck are just unbelievable. The sunset views on the balconies are not to be missed! The service from the moment we booked, to the follow up after we returned home was top notch! We were greeted at the airport and shown around the villa to make sure we felt comfortable.
The villa is right around the corner from Taylor Bay Beach, which is one of the best beaches I have seen, and the water right in front of the villa is fantastic!
We had to write just to let everyone know that this is a great villa at a great price! -

We stayed at Sunset Point Villa for my 40th birthday and had such a wonderful experience. One of our favorite things were the lobster fishermen that drove by every afternoon around 3 where we simply flagged them down and bought fresh lobster, red snapper and grouper and had them clean and fillet them and literally seasoned and put directly on the BBQ for a wonderful dinner. We did this three nights because it was so good. We also paid a 20% surcharge on the groceries and had them delivered before we arrived, highly recommend this as well.
The owners are very helpful and keep the house in great shape. We had three couples plus one extra adult and were very comfortable in the house. It is very private and great beach/snorkle access. We absolutely loved the house!!! -

60795Fabulous villa in the perfect location
Left on 04/04/2012 for a stay in March 2012
Just returned from a fabulous stay at Sunset Point Villa. The location of the villa could not be more perfect! It's a short walk (in the water or on the path) to Taylor Bay beach, which is perfect for kids because the water is shallow. If you rent kayaks or paddleboards (we rented both from Big Blue Unlimited, which delivered them to the house), you can paddle up to Sapodilla Bay, which is also a magnificent beach. We also paddled to a shipwreck just beyond Sapodilla bay, where we snorkeled and explored. The tennis courts, hard surface, are along the same path from the house to Taylor Bay beach and are in nice condition. The deck of the house is spectacular, with flowers and palm trees, and the sunset views are priceless.
The house is extremely well-equipped. There's a stereo with indoor and outdoor speakers, a collection of over 100 CD's, a big screen TV with cable and a DVD collection of about 80 movies, a Weber propane grill, two refrigerators (great for keeping water and beer cold at all times) a washer/dryer and every kitchen amenity you could ask for (coffee bean grinder and Cuisinart coffee maker, dishwasher, etc). We also enjoyed volleyball in the pool - pool floats and beach chairs are also provided. A second floor hammock is the perfect place for a nap! The house is very well maintained. A cleaning lady appeared mid-week, as did the pool maintenance crew to keep the pool crystal clear.
It's about a 15 minute drive to the IGA supermarket, which is huge and has everything we have at home, though the prices are predictably higher. They even have a decent selection of wine and liquor at the IGA. The smaller Quality Market is closer but not as well stocked - good for staples, water, milk and the like.
We spent one morning sailing with SailProvo. The catamaran took us to Iguana Island, which has a short trail/boardwalk from which you can spot the Iguanas. We then snorkeled for an hour and sailed to a quiet beach for a BBQ and a swim. We found better snorkeling at Smith's Reef (described elsewhere on Trip Advisor).
We also rented Jet Skis one afternoon at Sapodilla Bay. Look for a guy named Mark who has a pickup truck and a cute dog named Winston. He rents the Jet Skis for $150/hr. He also sells Conch shells, if you're looking for a souvenier.
This is a great house in an ideal location. Providenciales itself is rather ugly; the economy has been struggling for several years. But with a private property this beautiful, you never need to leave! -

Left on 02/28/2012 for a stay in February 2012
Just returned from our first visit to Turk & Caicos with three other couples who have done different caribbean islands every winter. This villa far exceeded our expectations and it was a unanimous #1 vote for best villa we've rented! There was no need to ever leave the house. Breakfast on the veranda, watching the dolphins-lunchtime snorkeling off the dock-amazing sunsets every evening (waiting for the infamous green flash)--nighttime star shows. The house had everything we needed and we never felt crowded, even with eight people. Bring serious bug spray as the mosquitos are relentless at night. We definitely had a wonderful vacation and the villa was about as perfect a location as you can get. You will not be disappointed with anything in this villa!

Traveled to Provo with family to celebrate a special birthday. The villa was wonderful and we had the best time. Plenty of space and it had everything we needed. It's very private and away from the main resort area so you definitely need a car if you plan on doing any activities or food shopping. The water is amazing and looks exactly like the photos. You can't find a better place to watch the sunsets either. Definitely would stay there again if I ever make it back to T&C.;

Traveled to Provo to celebrate my birthday with family. The villa was better than expected and we had a wonderful time. Didn't think it could live up to the photos online but it absolutely did. Watching the sunsets from the deck was truly amazing. The only thing that could have made it better if there was a hot tub & bathroom off the pool deck. Make sure to bring bug spray as it gets buggy at dusk & dawn. I would definitely stay here again if I ever go back to T&C;.

Little Rock, ARExceeded my expectations!
Left on 10/08/2011 for a stay in September 2011
The photos on Sunset Point Villa's website are not enhanced - they are an exact representation of what you'll find! I have spent time in fancy and not-so-fancy places in several countries - this was the best. Private, with more than the basic comforts of home (including three cats who joined us during our considerable porch relaxation time). Plenty of comfy furniture for all of us and then some. Plenty of cooking utensils. Comfy beds and plenty of quality towels. Plenty of shade when we wanted it and a lovely breeze. The private ocean access was a delightful extra! I was happy not having to walk through hotels or resorts or deal with crowds. For that we got in the rental car and drove to the more populated Grace Bay area, which was also beautiful, but where public beach access was not so easy to find. On our part of the island we did find the access road to Sapodilla Bay: as soon as you turn from South Dock Road onto Chalk Sound Drive, turn left at the first street past the Police Station. Also, there is an entrance to Chalk Sound on South Dock Road: turn at the street sign marked "Picturesque Road". Drive all the way out Chalk Sound Drive and find a place to stop and look out over the sound for a great view of the dozens of small cays dotting the sound. Taylor Bay Beach was lovely - walking down the short, rocky path was not bad, and the reward was a clean, nearly deserted beach with a huge expanse of sandy-bottomed waist-deep water. I am already dreaming of my next visit to Sunset Point Villa.

Sunset Point Villa is an exceptional property. From the ease of booking, arrival etc. this was an amazing vacation. This was our second time at this property and I can not wait to return. Having a bedroom wing, each with a private bat and entranceconnected to the main house, made this so friendly for our group of family and friends. The pool deck offered fantastic views and the ladder and deck directly into the Ocean made access to the water a breeze. The water below the deck was waist high and there is a large anchored float to enjoy your days upon.
The fully stocked kitchen, outdoor grill, amazing CD and DVD collection all contributed to the overall success of this adventure. An easy drive to the Grace Bay side of the island meant there was always someplace to go if you wanted. Do yourself a favor and go! -

Just a line to say what a wonderful time our family had staying at Sunset Point Villa (now we understand why it's called Sunset Point).
The place is very well furnished and spotless, the staff was extremely pleasant and informative. There was nothing we wanted for.
We stayed in for dinners until the last night by celebrating our last evening by going to Las Brisas which was outstanding.
Sunset Point is the one true place to relax and enjoy life. We all agreed that it was the best vacation we've ever had, and we all hope that sometime we may be able to return.

Left on 03/08/2011 for a stay in February 2011
My wife and I recently visited Turks and Caicos to celebrate our 20th anniversary. While many travel guides push the popular Grace Beach, we wanted a more private, relaxing atmoshpere where we could still access restaurants, beaches and local attractions. After a diligent search of resort properties, condos, etc., I found the Sunset Point villa website. There, I established a dialogue with Bob, who quickly responded to my requests for information regarding the property and surronding areas. We booked a reservation and were pleasantly surprised upon our arrival; it was everything and more than we could have asked for. The property manager guided us to the villa from the airport and gave us an overview of the property and island. Once settled in, we used our rental car for day trips to different points of interest on the map. In mid February, it was very windy and conditions were not good for snorkeling or water activities on the northern beaches. Fortunately, at the villa we enjoyed calm water conditions due to its southwestern exposure. The home is well equipped for family needs with a pool and an array of water toys, music, games and Dvd's.
After several days of exploring the island my wife and I agreed it was always good to end the day at Sunset Point! Each morning we enjoyed a walk on Taylor Beach, about 5 mins. from our front gate. The landscaping, view and support staff were amazing. When we return, we'll stay here again and bring the rest of the family...maybe even mother-in-law! -

We stayed at Sunset Point Villa the week of January 2. Unbelievable experience. We loved the location (about 15 minute drive from Grace Bay, which we didn't want to be on top of). We could walk to the beaches of Taylor Bay in about 3 minutes. The sunsets were amazing, pool was great, house was huge! The only complaint I have is that most houses near us had ocean kayaks, and this one did not. That would be a nice addition, but beyond that there is nothing at all to complain about, and a ton to be excited about. If we come back to TCI we'll stay here again, no question.

Left on 07/15/2010 for a stay in May 2010
My girlfriend Linda and I probably researched and looked at every villa available on all of Turks and Caicos. So when we saw Sunset Point Oceanfront Villa online there wasn’t any hesitation about where we would be staying on our third trip to Provo. We won’t bore you with typical stories of the amazing colors and views that mesmerized us for hours every day or the relaxing setting that the villa creates just because of where it is. We remember the little things like how great it was to have floats for the pool that were so comfortable, the hammock that was in such a perfect place out of the sun that the breeze rocked you to sleep and the very cool grill that anyone would be proud to throw a piece of fish or steak on. This place had it all for us, music from Bob Marley for me to Pink for Linda, every kitchen gadget we could imagine and even a ping pong table. I was so relaxed that I realized by the second night I was dreaming again.
We hope you can tell how much we loved Sunset Point Oceanfront Villa. Bob, the owner, was so great to work with and his staff at the villa also added stories and a touch of the island. The serenity and simplicity here is what we strive for in our daily lives and we have brought some of that back with us to our lives back home. The villa was fantastic for just the two of us and we can just imagine the great energy there with all rooms occupied. We have stayed in resorts in Provo and they are nothing to complain about but if you really want to relax, unplug and just be quiet, we absolutely recommend a villa…..and for us Sunset Point Oceanfront Villa was just perfect for what we were looking for.

Our group of 8 from Manitoba, Canada stayed at Sunset Point Villa for 10 days in January 2010. Our first impression of the villa was WOW and for the most part we left with the same impression. The property manager was great and explained everything we needed to know about the villa plus she was always available, if needed. The deck and pool area was where we spent most of our time. Because there had been some cool weather before we arrived the pool was a bit cool but that changed over the week. It was great to jump in and cool off. There are lots of pool toys available. The ocean access is a ladder down from the landing which could be a bit tricky for some. If you take it slow it is well worth the effort. The air mattress anchored right off shore is a great place to have a nap or just enjoy the scenery. There are also a few coral heads close by for shore
snorkeling. During our stay we ate most of our meals at the villa. There are plenty of dishes, pots and pans, cutlery and any kind of utensil you could possibly need. The kitchen cupboards could use a bit of a face lift, but nothing major. All the bathrooms had plenty of towels and we always had lots of hot water. Having laundry on site is great. We didn't use the air conditioning much as the nights cooled off and there was a nice breeze. We would definately recommend this villa to others. -

We rented the villa with 3 other couples for a week and had the time of our
lives! The villa was beautiful. There are 4 spacious rooms with private
bathrooms, therefore there is plenty of space and privacy for everyone. The
view from the upper wrap around balcony is breathtaking!
The only two negatives would be the kitchen does need some updates. The
cleaning staff didn't do a very good job cleaning the house during our stay.
It's imperative to rent a car. The IGA (grocery store) is a twenty minute ride
away and the wine and spirits store is along the way.
We enjoyed our stay so much that we have rented it for another week in
