Description from owner

Description

Mazot les Tines is a cosy little hideaway straight out of Hansel and Gretel. A small chalet situated between Chamonix and Argentière in the village of Les Tines it is well placed for skiing at both Les Grands Montets and Flégère – Brévent, and in the summer with the River Arve running close by, the perfect starting point for country walks. A favourite place for romantic honeymoons! It is set in a pretty garden with the Mont Blanc range as a backdrop, pretty stunning we reckon.

Inside there is a dreamy little bedroom upstairs with a door leading to a small balcony and wooden stairs. Below on the ground floor you will find a shower room, a neat little kitchen (with small oven, hob, fridge and washing machine) and dining area, all in wood of course, beyond which is a living room with a large picture window (more views!). There are two mattresses on a balcony-mezzanine which are ideal for children. All in all it is the perfect getaway for a couple or small family.

Getting around

If you don't have a car you can still get around quite easily. The bus stop and small railway station are about 250m walk from the mazot. By bus the blue line 2 runs every 30 minutes winter and summer up and down the valley (except Sundays out of season). In the ski season and July & August there is also a night bus back from Chamonix at 8.50pm, 9.35pm, 10.20pm and 11.05pm. The 'Mont Blanc Express train' is a small single line train which runs about once an hour up and down valley from St Gervais le Fayet to Vallorcine where there is a connection to Martigny, Switzerland. It is very scenic and worth a trip. It only takes minutes to get to Chamonix or Argentiere. Timetables for the bus and train are available online and in the mazot.

Response from the owner Thank you for all your feedback and I agree with all your comments - we don't typically advise guests with very young children or for a group of 4 older people as it is cosy - but we try and offer it as a more affordable option for half term. We hope to see you again, you would be very welcome.

Response from the owner Thank you for your comments Elisabetta, feedback is always valued. January can be a very cold month and we can understand that with a small baby crawling on the floor this may not have been the ideal place for your little family. We should have put some rugs down for you. We hope to see you again in warmer weather!
