Zurich, SwitzerlandFrench alpine charm in argentiere
Left on 05/17/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We stayed here in March and arrived the day after a fresh dump of snow. The walk up to the chalet through the pine trees with snow on the branches set the scene for a relaxing week.
Jon and his crew looked after our every need, they were always on hand for a restaurent recommendation, advice on the where to find the best snow conditions or a pick up from pistes. The chalet is spacious and nicely decorated in rustic French alpine style but with all the modern necessities like Wifi, flat screen TV etc.
Grande Montets ski station is nearby in argentiere and Chamonix is a 10 minute drive down the valley. Highlight was gazing at the stars from the outdoor hottub after a tough day of skiing, perfect for aching legs! Looking forward to get back here next winter.

Absolutely perfect chalet for our family Christmas! Magical location in the woods with walking tracks and sledging, yet still an easy walk into argentiere. Really atmospheric indoors, with a great log fire. And of course wonderful to enjoy the hot tub from the privacy of the terrace!
Marmotte Mountain's approach is absolutely spot on- all you would expect from a luxury operator, but with the priceless added value of a genuinely relaxed, easy going, 'nothing a problem' attitude! Our 4 children aged 2 to 7 felt completely at home from day one, and have been talking about their holiday every since.
The cooking was first class, and the house wine excellent.
Keep up the good work and look forward to seeing you again soon!

We were fortunate to stay here for a week in January. What an incredible chalet. Large and spacious, set in the peace of the woods. The outside hot-tub was a god-send at the end of each day on the slopes!
We really enjoyed the old hifi system with the really good selection of vinyl.
A short walk away is a small but excellently stocked supermarket and a few bars.
We will definitely be back! -

This was our second visit to the mountain retreat and it was even better than the year before. The food quality ha gone up a level and as someone who sees a lot of great place around the world, this was not easy. Jon and his team look at what you need and adapt to it. The snow, accom and added services like te private quality ski instructors were fantastic. Highly recommended. As arnie says... We'll be back

Left on 05/07/2013 for a stay in January 2013
I stayed in this lovely chalet with 3 friends for a long weekend in January. It is charming and traditional but it is the location which makes it really special - all on its own in the woods, very Hansel and Gretel, and you can ski home through the trees. The town itself is only a 5 minute walk away (small, traditional French) and the ski area huge, with a great variety, both on and off-piste. Service, transfers and general day-to-day care were all excellent. I would certainly stay here again.

Terrific location and a lovely chalet, with first rate service. The cuisine was superb from start to finish, including the wine. So the upgrade wine list wasn't needed, but it was a lot of fun! When in the hot tub, under the stars, in the snow covered forest, there was nowhere I'd rather be. All this in the best ski area in Europe.
Airport transfers and in resort meeting, ferrying and helping out made it a completely hassle free holiday. -

Great secluded traditional chocolate box chalet with easy access to slopes. At the end of the day ski back to the chalet and relax in the hot tub under the stars with a glass of fizz in hand. The Marmotte team are wonderful hosts, keen to make your stay both a great skiing experience and a gastronomic treat.
Jon and his team provide a great service, dropping you off and if you wish, picking you up at the end of the day at the various alternative ski areas you might wish to explore. We have been with friends and family over the years and always have a great holiday.
Our only regret was we could not get back this year, as time and events conspired against us. -

Left on 05/02/2013 for a stay in December 2011
we were looking for a slightly more isolated chalet and this place had the perfect balance of behing hidden away from the trees but still not too far from where we could park the car. We stayed when there was an unusually high snow fall so the roof and garden were stacked high with a couple of meters of snow. But this only made the house feel all the more cosy and Jon was amazing at clearing the paths daily - even in blizzard conditions and dressed only on shorts and t-shirt.
It was a shame that one of our children got ill and so we weren't able to make full use of the ski runs that are practically on the doorstep! Nevertheless, this only made us all the happier to be staying somewhere so homely.
We will hopefully be returning soon.

StansfieldCan you improve on perfection?
Left on 05/02/2013 for a stay in February 2013
This chalet is very friendly, cosy, comfortable and the chef is a proper professional. For my sister's birthday, she gave us a dinner that was the best thing I have ever eaten in the mountains. Jon is a really good host and really goes the extra mile to make your stay memorable. The only improvement could be to update the aubergine-coloured bathroom suite - which is unlikely as Jon doesn't own the property.

I stayed in Marmotte Mountain with 6 friends for the week. We had a fantastic time.
The chalet was exactly the kinda of comfortable home from home we were looking for, we felt instantly relaxed and familiar with our surroundings. The "always on" hot tub was a bonus too (evening, and even in the early hours).
The highlights, a walk before breakfast through the fresh snow, skiing from the slopes, directly home to the chalet in the evening. The attentive & non-intrusive service from the Marmotte Crew.
Highly recommended!

Fantastic chalet in a stunning location. Argentiere is a traditional alpine village and one of the prettiest areas in Chamonix. The food In the chalet is fantastic and nothing is too much trouble for the hosts. I would highly recommend this chalet.

Orlando, FLSerene Ski Mountain Getaway!
Left on 04/11/2013 for a stay in March 2012
When my husband and I were looking for a mountain ski vacation, we wanted a beautiful chalet tucked away in the mountains and this is what we found in the Marmotte Mountain Retreat! The location and the views are spectacular! The staff is incredible! Jon and Jenny were always available and eager to assist in anyway possible. We cannot wait to go back for another visit and will choose the Marmotte Mountain Retreat again for our ski vacation! We enjoyed the cozy fireplace at night and the jacuzzi was a very welcome amenity after a day of skiing. While there is wireless connection and TV, we were so enamored by the surroundings and the chalet that we rarely used either. We also took nightly walks on the paths that are right by the chalet. We recommend Marmotte Mountain and their other chalets implicitly!
