Chalet Bibendum

The relaxing & spacious livingroom with a central fireplace connects with the dining area and opens out onto a terrace and balcony. The wooden gable end of the house ( 8 meters high) has been replaced with glass to give wonderful panoramic views of Mont Blanc and up to the La Flégère and Brévent slopes. Lots of comfortable sofas to sink into in front of the roaring fire provide the perfect end of day activity. The old hayloft ladders form a well stocked library for those who want nothing more than to curl up with a good book.

Chalet Bibendum is full of light and has been decorated in a relaxed “traveller” style, mixing natural materials and bohemian chic interior with furnishings from all around the world. It is the perfect place to escape to and chill out in front of the fire! The four ensuite bedrooms all enjoy beautiful mountain views. In the garden we have a wood fired hot tub ideal for those après ski moments and a amazing sauna.

The four bedrooms are all ensuite and the bedroom up on the second floor has a French copper bateau bath with wonderful views from the top of the chalet. Separate toilets are situated on each floor.

Apple TV and a Sonos/iPod music system is available for your entertainment. There is a WIFI network for internet access and good old fashioned board games to enjoy.

At chalet bibendum we have incorporated energy saving methods and adhered to good environmental building principles wherever possible. Solar panels were installed in the roof which are used to assist the central heating system.

Winter 2011/2012 we having a cosy and easy for 8 persons sauna with fireplace in the orginal caveau.

Our chalet is situated in the tranquil, picturesque Savoyard hamlet of Les Bois, five minutes from Chamonix and a minute's walk to the La Flégère lift. La Flégère is well known for skiing and snowboarding in winter or hiking and mountain biking in summer. Chamonix is the ideal playground for all types and levels of outdoor activity such as hiking, ice and rock climbing, skiing, paragliding, rafting, and canyoning.

Set against the Alpine peaks of Chamonix

The village of Les Bois is surrounded by the dramatic and rugged peaks of the Mont Blanc massif and home to some of the finest skiing terrain in the world. There are shops, bars and renowned restaurants within walking distance from the chalet. Also the one of the best après-ski bars in Chamonix with bands playing early evening, great atmosphere and just a 900 m. walk away from the chalet. The village is lovely - twinkly lights, roaring fires and a cosy atmosphere.

Les Bois is situated next to Les Praz where the La Flégère telepherique lift links into the Brévent slopes making a vast area right on your doorstep. The ski resort of La Flégère is linked to Le Brévent slopes offering pistes for all abilities and unlimited off-piste skiing & climbing.

Guests have easy access to the other areas for all abilities and unlimited off-piste skiing and boarding within a 10 km radius, including the Grands Montets and the world-famous Vallée Blanche descent. Cross-country skiers & walkers will be in heaven as the ski de fond tracks pass by the chalet.
