A small family run complex, 13 km west of Chania, in Platanias, the summer resort that both local and foreign visitors choose for its excellente accommodation, sandy beaches and lively entertainment. Set in a quiet place, 600 m. from the beach and within walking distance from restaurants and shops,it is the ideal choice for travelers who seek tranquility in a place close to all spots of interest and, above all, for those who wish to enjoy the Cretan hospitality.

Directions from Heraklion: Drive west on the national road to Chania. This is approximately a two-hour-drive.Do not enter Chania but continue straight for 15 more minutes.Take the exit Platanias.A few meters before reaching the coastal road(old national road) you turn left.

We enjoyed very much in Cathrin apts. Staff is perfect and kind. Rooms are new, with all services and very clean.
The location is nice, site is quiet, surrounded by a magnificent garden and is around 200 meters from the beach.
I can not complain about anything because everything was perfect.
I recommended this place and we will certainly return. -

Very clean, the housekeeper was to kinde and friendly...the room is big and comfortable, good value for money ...mis catrin welcomes every customer offering fruits from her garden and wine ...it is quite and the center of the town is not too far. Beache is near too.i was very satisfied and suggest it ...

nothing to complain! very clean, confortable, with a very relaxing garden! The owner welcame us with cake and fruits by her garden. A little oasis, I recommend it!

A nice little oasis laying approx 10 mins walk from the centre of Platanias and 5 min from the beach. The elder couple who is managing the place are as very often in Greece very friendly. It is remarkebaly tidy and the garden is a as mentioned in the title a beautiful place. The rooms are upgraded, I was told when reserving rooms for this summer (2011), whith aC and wireless net . So my family and i are looking forward for yet another holiday in Platanias who can offer the classic quiet beachlife for "oldschool" Island travellers like my wife and I plus the more touristic part for our two teenage girls.

First thing I was looking forward to in my last visit was the bottle of wine and basket of fruits that Solon leaves in each room from his gardens and wineyard.Along with olive oil that he produces as well.
His vegetable garden behind the hotel is something to write home about.Too bad I see no pictures of it.
One of the most tranquil places I've stayed,the Cathrin is an Oasis ,whithin easy driving distance from the mayhem of Hania.
As my second visit was even more gratifying than the first one,I would totally recommend it,as i already have.
Clean,Beautiful,with attention to detail and service.
Just a sort walk from gorgeous beaches and transportation. Been thinking of grabbing my laptop and work out of there for a couple of months.If only my boss would go along with it.
I would like to thank again Solon and his wife Cathrin for their hospitality.
