Disapointed
granby masshome disaster
Left on 10/22/2009 for a stay in July 2009
When we arived we were very excited. then things started to fall apart.
Almost all the dishes and pots and pans had to be washed before we could use them, including the dish washer that had scum and mold around the gasket. There was mold where there had been leaks in the ceiling and an accumualation of crushed bugs on the ceiling. The drawers in the dresser seemed not to be some place that one would like to put there cloths so we lived out of our bags for the week. The cellar where the cloths dryer is could have been a mushroom farm because of the moisture and the strange fungus that was growing down there. I didn't think it strange that after seeing everything that my son-in -law had to leave after 3 days because his alergys flared up.
This was followed by the fact that 3 out of 4 of us had diarerria at the weeks end.
The ocean was great!Response from Sandcastle Vacation Homes - 10/22/2009

These poor people had quite a bad experience and their report to us resulted in our taking this house out of our rental inventory until the owner met with us and allowed us to do a complete inspection of the house while she took notes as to what was needed. She had relied on unreliable cleaners to open the house for the season and to maintain it (a misnomer!). This will not happen again and she is taking steps to bring the house up to our standards! We will inspect the house again before any future guest enter it!

We have rented this house a few times, we just love its location. It is great to have a beach right in your backyard. We also enjoyed taking our kayaks and go for a ride first thingh in the morning. Last time we were there the bathrooms needed some care. Hopefully some work has been donne to them, because we want to go back again.

We love it when our Guests give us constructive comments we can then pass along to the owners...as was done with this one!

Elverson, PANice Location, House not up to expectations
Left on 04/27/2009 for a stay in July 2007
It was a wonderful location. The house was not tidy. Lots of dirty
stained furniture. The yard was a mess with old wet rugs laying around
and dirty buckets full of water and such. Our key did not work and had
to crawl in through the bathroom window a few times. We would not
rent this house again. The nice location did not make up for the
condition of the house.Response from Sandcastle Vacation Homes - 05/19/2009

Oh goodness! We have rented this house for over ten years and during that time have had a few issues, but never like these! Though this guest never contacted us as instructed should something not be right with the home, we are sure glad to know it now. The owner will be informed immediately. It looks like the cleaner never should up! The key has worked for all our other Guests! Guess we'd better check the lock-corrosion may have taken its toll!!
