Charente holiday cottage with shared Pool, Sleeps 2. The Rose Barn nestles in the hamlet of Rancogne on the edge of a little valley in the peaceful Charente Limousine region of South West France. .Peaceful rural location with excellent access to many local attractions, The Dordogne & The Limousin.

The Rose Barn is a converted barn nestling in the hamlet of Rancogne on the edge of a little valley in the peaceful Charente Limousine region of South West France. With rolling hills and little valleys plus 1000 more sunshine hours than Paris it provides the perfect base for touring and exploring with lots of local attractions. All the peace of rural bliss but with excellent road, rail & air links. For the those interested in history you can visit many local chateaux, the roman baths at Cassinomagus and follow the route of King Richard the Lionheart and his battles in medieval. France. Closer to our time you can visit the nearby World War II National Resistance Memorial and other memories of this area when it was on the border with Vichy controlled France. Swimming and water sports on the lakes of the Haute Charente (15 minutes away) or on the Atlantic coast (90 minutes) Brandy & Wine tastings in Cognac plus many other local attractions all fully listed on our website. Two splendid golf clubs within easy driving distance.
To get here Budget airlines fly from the UK to Limoges (35 minutes) Poitiers, La Rochelle and Bordeaux. Eurostar and TGV rail via Paris to Angouleme and its between 5 and 8 hours from the channel ports by car depending which crossing you use.
