Innisfree cottages are set on 1.2 acres of tropical gardens. They have outstanding views of the Caribbean sea as well as of the volcano, plus year round spectacular sunset views.
The cottages have been built to take advantage of the natural trade breezes with plenty of easy to open windows and shutters. If there is no breeze an overhead fan will keep you cool at night, however at 850ft above sea level, even in the summer the temperature is comfortable.

At 850 ft aboard sea level, and facing South, the cottage benefit from cool breezes and fantastic views of the sea & sunset.
It is a great location to base yourself for exploring the island - three of the best Colonial Plantations are close by, either walking distance or 5-10mins drive, and Charlestown is 5-10 minutes by car.
You have a selection of beaches either on the windward or leeward side of the Islands - the closest being 10 mins away.
Gingerland supermarket (one of the best on the island) is just a few minutes away by car, as well as a fruit and vegetable stands which provides excellent locally grown produce.

We stayed in one of the Innisfree cottages in February 2013. The cottage and its amenities fully lived up to the owner's description. Innisfree is located about half way up the mountain in a rural location at the end of a track, which like many of the roads on Nevis could have been better maintained. All the facilities in the cottage, although basic, worked well, including the wi-fi, and everything was very clean, tidy and pleasantly decorated. The cottage is situated in a lovely garden and Veronica and Brett kindly invited us to help ourselves to their homegrown salad, which we did! The views over the sea and surrounding countryside are truly spectacular and the gentle breeze at that altitude meant that the temperature was never oppressively hot. We hired a jeep from Mervin Powell who has his garage based at the end of the track - a 4WD is essential given the location of the cottage, a few miles outside Charleston. There are also some very good local walks from the cottage. Veronica advised us on the hire car and made numerous arrangements for our local transport and provided lots of local knowledge in a very efficient and friendly way. Veronica and Brett were excellent hosts and we very much enjoyed meeting them, and their son Nelson, and two dogs Daisey and Goldie, who greeted us like long lost friends each day!

Two very attractive intimate, but sufficiently roomy, well-equipped cottages on-site. The hosts provided excellent advice and support prior to arrival and were very hospitable and supportive on-site but not 'in-your-face'. (Hosts are also excellent chefs!). There are many country walks close-by. The only downside, although this may be an upside, is that the cottages are located up a steep hill on a poorly maintained road and quite a way from downtown, the beaches or a resort area. A rental car is essential.

The positive side of being on a hill is that you get wonderful views...not so good if you are on your bike though :-) We recommend guests rent a 4X4 as the property is off the beaten track...all part of the adventure!
