One of the best locations in Charlotte! Located on a quiet, tree-lined residential street in the historic district of Dilworth, 2 miles from the central business district (Uptown), you'll be able to walk to 3 parks, two full-service grocery stores, 40 restaurants, wine shop, yoga and massage studios, coffee shops, art galleries, consignment shops, neighborhood pubs and other amenities. A transit stop 1/2 block away provides bus service directly to Uptown and SouthPark (upscale shopping) every 15 minutes. Light rail is only a 15-minute walk away. Carolinas Medical Center is 4 minutes away by car, or an easy 15-20 minute walk. A bike is also av...ailable for your use upon request to make use of the bike lanes and paths in the neighborhood.

This super-comfortable, spotlessly clean, quiet, large one-bedroom apartment is in a historic 8-plex apartment building built in 1920, and has been completely remodeled with attention to all the details. High ceilings, refinished original hardwood floors, original 2-panel doors with glass door knobs help the apartment maintain its original character. It is furnished in an updated traditional style with modern flair, with an emphasis on comfort.

Perhaps the best feature is the large private screened porch, overlooking the front lawn, which provides a comfortable and mosquito-free outdoor living and dining area to take advantage of Charlotte's wonderful climate, whether for breakfast in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening.

We've recently undertaken a complete GREEN renovation on the building, including dual- pane windows, high efficiency HVAC, energy efficient lighting, dual-flush toilets, ceiling fans, tankless water heaters and new insulation for comfort.

In the fully-equipped kitchen there are brand new cabinets, quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances, including a gas range and refrigerator with ice maker. Washer and dryer are also included in the apartment for your use. There is a desk, a printer, wifi, and a small stereo cd player with a place for your Ipod or MP3 player, a large flat screen television in the living room and a smaller one in the bedroom.

400-thread-count linens are provided for the King size bed. Egyptian cotton towels are provided as well.

The ground-floor apartment has a reserved parking space, an outdoor patio with gas grill, recycling facilities and composting. The grounds are well-landscaped with native and drought tolerant plantings. You'll feel safe and secure, with keyed access required for both the main entrance and the apartment.

Most of our guests are repeat clients who book in advance, so please book early. We think we've thought of everything you'll need for your visit, but if not, we live right around the corner so can help with anything you might need. With enough notice, we'll be happy to stock the apartment with your choice of food, beverages, etc. I'm a native Charlottean, so am happy to provide any help during your stay, including restaurant suggestions, art openings, events, etc. Just ask! Ideally situated in Charlotte's most walkable neighborhood, you're steps away from restaurants, shops, parks and a multitude of activities. Public transit is a viable alternative to driving, as light rail is a 15 minute walk away and a frequently served bus stop is 1/2 block away, providing convenient transportation directly Uptown and to SouthPark mall. Carolinas Medical Center is a mile away.

  Discerning travelers themselves, the owners of the Home Collection have outdone themselves in providiing unheard of amenities in their gorgeous apartment/condos in mostly historically significant areas of Charlotte NC. Guests arrive to soft music and lamps aglow with a welcoming ambience. Instantly relax in well-appointed homes decorated with an eye for detail and exuding comfort and charm for any traveler. Lovely contemporary art fills the walls in these light-filled spaces, each one unique and beautiful. If all that isn't enough, mix yourself a coctail, or enjoy a glass of wine on the outdoor veranda (downstair units are screened in) Yes, even the liquor is included, tastefully served in crystal decanters. Need I say more? A full size washer & dryer, along with the suds to do your laundry--who doesn't love going home with clean clothes to unpack? Toss in the daily paper, enough pasta & sauce to feed 4, cookies & fruit--and I believe one truly feels at home in any of the Home Collection's properties. For those who detest the chain hotel experience & would love to settle into one of Charlotte's most charming neighborhoods, the Home Collection is a must -see, must -stay experience.

  This was my first visit to Charlotte and it would not have been the same if I had stayed elsewhere. It was a fantastic and unforgettable trip. James and Jim were very helpful in every way possible. The apartment was extremely nice, charming, and located in a beautiful historic part of town. Upon returning, I will definitely choose to rent from James and Jim before anyone else. (5 stars)
