CAPE COD CHATHAM CHARMER: 2 MIN. TO THE BEACH!

Our Pleasant Street home is a charming 3 bedroom, 2 bath year-round home which is located at 320 Pleasant Street in South Chatham and it can comfortably accommodate up to 8 people. It is only a 2 minute walk to Nantucket Sound, the warm water side of Cape Cod! There is no beach sticker required at the Pleasant Street Beach, unlike most of the other Chatham beaches. It is also a pet-friendly home (with an additional pet deposit requirement, refundable if there is no damage). We only rent on a full week or longer basis during our short 10 week in-season period (late June through Labor Day) but we will rent for a 3 night minimum during the of...f-season time.

This home has central A/C, wireless hi-speed internet, a wide-screen cable TV, fireplace, washer and dryer, dishwasher, microwave, and is very attractively furnished. There is a lovely rooftop deck with a view of Nantucket Sound that is a wonderful place for you to enjoy drinks in the cool evening breeze. It has a very private backyard with gas grill, picnic table and lawn furniture and is available for rent all year so enjoy the Cape off-season as well when the rates are lower than in the prime summer season. Linens can be provided for a small charge if you are traveling from a distance or flying. We give our tenants the option of either doing their own cleaning on vacating, in which case the cleaning deposit is fully refunded, or having a cleaning service for the cleaning deposit fee.

Chatham is one of the most popular towns on Cape Cod as it has wonderful restaurants, great shopping in very unique and fascinating stores, and you won't want to miss the seal watch tours in Chatham harbor or the deep sea fishing excursions as well. There are weekly band concerts in the town park that provide memorable evenings during the summer months. Also don't miss the delicious lobsters that can be purchased at the Chatham fishing pier. Chatham also has great museums and antique shops. It is on the list of the 10 Best Historical Resorts of Distinction in the US which has greatly increased the town's popularity. There is something for everyone in the family to do in this community which is centrally located on Cape Cod, so there is easy access to Provincetown, Hyannis, Eastham, Orleans. Wellfleet and Truro and it is only a 2 hour drive to Boston for a rainy day activity. The Chatham beaches are on the warm water side of the Cape as the water temperature can vary as much as 10 degrees between the beaches on the north and south side of Cape Cod due to the presence of the Gulf Stream which flows along the south shore and then out to sea. And don't forget the wonderful bike trails all over Cape Cod that make the Cape such a sought-after vacation spot! You might want to spend a day on the fantastic trails through the National Seashore in Provincetown where you can stop and swim at Lighthouse Beach or the trails to Nauset Beach and Coast Guard Beach. Don't miss the Visitors' Center in Eastham where you can take in a movie or two on the history of Cape Cod or the shipwrecks off the coast of the Cape or visit the museum and gift shop to purchase your souvenirs. There are guided daytime walks and evening programs presented by the National Park Service employees as well which are well worth attending.

You also won't want to miss the Ohio State Players productions at their theater in Chatham or the Cape Cod Playhouse productions in Dennis on Rt. 6A, the oldest summer theater in the United States.

  Our family spent Columbus Day weekend at this property located within walking distance of two beaches and enjoyed it very much. The expanded Cape had comfortable room for eight of us and our dog. One problem was an inoperable sofa sleeper that requied some revised sleeping arrangements but otherwise the home is a great place for a vacation. The home is located in a quiet neighborhood and has a rooftop deck and a rear picnic area that were used for meals as the weather was mild. Our oldest son brought his telescope to teach our grand kids about the stars from the rooftop deck. Overall an enjoyable place to stay.

  I traveled with three friends to Cape Cod for a week. Two of us were pretty happy with the selected property, and the other two were a little disappointed. The house is located in a lovely neighborhood close to the beach, but there is definitely no ocean view unless you use a telescope! The kitchen has the essentials, but it could sure use an update. The dryer is located in the basement--a scary prospect. We could have used a flashlight. The owners could help their renters by postIng key information in a prominent place. We couldn't find the Internet access code and had no idea we should look in the shed for beach equipment. We washed the bathroom rugs upon arrival because they looked a little sketchy. Despite these issues, the house is in a fabulous location, and we appreciated the close proximity to town, grocery store, and other activities.

  We thank our renters for giving us suggestions as to how we can improve our home as we take pride in it and our tenants have enjoyed it for the 48 years we have been renting it. In response to their comments, there is a light switch at the foot of the stairs for the dryer space in the basement and we felt it was better to provide a dryer than not so we put it where we had room for it as this is a Cape Cod style home and there was no room for it in the kitchen where we have the washer. The internet access code was written on a card by the router and the bathroom rugs are changed each time there is a change of tenants. We do have our key information posted on the inside of the dish cabinet in the kitchen as well. We do not claim to be waterfront and state that it is a 2 minute walk to the beach so our view from our deck is limited but our tenants have loved it for their evening drinks and a place to relax in the cool evening breeze. However, we will take our tenants' comments seriously as we are constantly trying to improve our home and we have had wonderful tenants throughout the 48 years that we have been renting and that is why we are still doing this.

  This home was very comfortable, clean, and homey. The kitchen was fully equipped and we loved the large private "suite" with its own bathroom at the back of the house! The large roof deck was wonderful in the evening to relax and drink wine and the gas grill in the backyard was used nightly to grill fish. This home had every amenity we needed - washer/dryer, cable TV, and was a pleasant two-minute walk down to a lovely and quite beach. It was an easy drive to the downtown area full of shops and restaurants. If you want a peaceful, relaxing, comfortable and quiet place, this is it! We wish we could come back this year!!! The Perry's are lovely people and very helpful and accommodating! I would give this my highest recommendation! The entire week was superb on every level!!
