RotterdamAutumn getaway
Left on 12/03/2012 for a stay in November 2012
Gite the nod was the perfect getaway for a late autumn trip. With the tour the cremant on your doorstep (delicious champagne from Bourgogne) and beautiful walking options straight from the cottage it's a very nice place to get away from it all. The gite is a transformed shed from the 14th century next to an old church (luckily the bells don't ring after 10PM and before 6 in the morning!) Combined with the fireplace and hospitable Linda and andrew, the gite makes up for a cozy experience!

adelaide, south australiaquiet and relaxed location with friendly and helpful hosts
Left on 09/13/2012 for a stay in August 2012
The property is large, comfortably furnished and well equipped.
The location means that own transport is essential although this
probably adds to the relaxation aspect.
The owners are friendly and being English, are able to offer advice
that can be easily absorbed by other mono-linguists. This can be of
great assistance when learning about the region.
The dominant sound during our stay was the chime from the next-door church bell, which, however, ceases at 2200hrs -

San FranciscoWonderful host and serene yet convenient location!

We stayed at andrew and Linda's cute gite on for only a couple of nights but wish we had stay longer. Unfortunately, we had to go back to Paris to catch our flight home. We definitely will return and stay longer next time around. Andrew waited for us to arrive during the evening, that was very nice of him. He recommended a few towns to check out, and also provided us with useful maps. Our car had gps but the paper version gave us an idea where we were in the greater scale. His gite was clean, charming and has everything you need. I could tell they put a lot of work into it. I particularly loved those heavy wooden beams in the gite. That's just one of the many charming things about this gite.
I have to agree with the previous guest's comment, it does feel like you are visiting a family friend or something, that's how friendly and welcoming andrew was.
Bon voyage to you! -

omaramaA real gem. A peaceful quiet part of France.
Left on 08/15/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We pre booked and stayed in several areas through out France- loved them all but this stay- booked last minute, on our way back to Paris was a real gem. Our hosts made us feel so welcome and comfortable we could have stayed longer. Compared to much costlier accommodation this was extremely good value and one day we would like to return- fabulous hosts.

BaildonThe beautiful forgotten area of France
Left on 07/18/2012 for a stay in June 2012
Ideally located for a relaxing holiday in a beautiful part of France. It's a shame there is no shop in the village, however, the road to Chatillon is quiet and fast so it only takes a few minutes to get there, and there are five supermarkets to choose from as well as a host of very good shops. If you are into wine then you are close of some of the finest small vineyards and fantastic local wines in the area.
Andrew and lynda are ever so helpful and if, like us, it's your first visit to this area of France they have the knowledge to make your stay a pleasant and informed one. The roads and countryside are undulating making it a great place to walk and cycle.
Overall we had a busy week and we will be going back as you need more than one week to appreciate the area. -

Yakima, WAA Little Gem!

This is an ideal place to recouperate from physical and/or mental exhaustion. It's as clean and neat as a pin, located "en pleine compagne" , 15 to 20 minutes from the city of Chatillon sur Seine and the marvelous Tresors de Vix exhibition at the museum there (absolutely a must see!) and as comfortable as can be. Best of all, in all of my stays in gites, I've never met more hospitable and delightful owners. Andy and Linda are so warm and helpful that, when I left after two weeks, I felt as though I were saying goodbye to friends. I was the first person from the USa to stay in the gite and I intend to return. I wholeheartedly recommend it!!

Left on 09/17/2011 for a stay in July 2011
A wonderful gite in a small hamlet with beautiful views over the valley. Accommodation was excellent and the hosts, who live next door, were most hospitable and supportive. A great place to stay for walks or exploring this part of burgundy, Chablis and the lower Champagne. While there are no shops or café's in the hamlet, the gite contains an excellent kitchen & it is only a short drive to Chatillon-sur-Seine. A great place to stay to experience rural France at its best. We will stay here the next time we visit Burgundy.

We spend a week at Gite de Nod. It was unbelievably peaceful and quiet - don't be misled by the proximity on the map of what might look like a busy main road: there is little traffic during the day, nothing at night, and you can't hear the road from the gite anyway! A wonderful, friendly welcome from andrew and Linda. The gite is small, simple but ideal for a couple looking for a quiet base for exploring this beautifully wooded rural part of northern Burgundy. One hour by road from Dijon, one hour from Troyes.
