Located in historic Point Chautauqua, NY, a community with the street layout designed by Frederick Law Olmsted in 1860. Point Chautauqua has a 'gated community' ambiance with minimal traffic, golf carts, bicycles and folks out for a stroll without the restrictions of an actual 'gated' community. The streets wind around and down toward the lake creating 4 to 5 tiers of beautiful and historic homes. Public paths that go straight down to the Lake make it an easy 3 minute walk to all the Lake activity.

Staying at Tottering was one of the most restful get-aways my husband and I ever had. It's not stuffy or formal. It's cozy and warm like home and yet there's a feeling of history with the heart pine floors and restored Victorian architecture. The kitchen is modern, practical and fully equipped for family meals or romantic dining. The beds are comfortable, nice showers, cool footed tub! and wrap-around porch. The community around Tottering is also charming and well-worth a walk-around in any season. We will come back again!

This is a lovely oasis.
Sitting on the porch on a summer evening was great as there were no mosquitos -
It is a short stroll to the beach, but it is fun to look at the other character-filled houses in the area.
There is a tennis court, which needs to be booked in peak summer or go early in the morning.
