“Phenomenal experience!!” We stayed at this property in February 2012 and from the warm greeting at the airport to the beautifully decorated and well equipped condo, we had an extremely comfortable and relaxing holiday! We can't thank the owner, Morne, enough for the exceptional service, accommodations and overall experience at his property in the Cayman Islands! We travelled to the Island with our toddler and Morne made our packing and travel very light and easy by providing all things baby related - we didn't need to bring a stroller or even any toys. Our son was absolutely spoiled with a full sized crib, adorable bedding, a huge selection of toys and even a highchair. Having everything at the condo waiting for us was an absolute treat! Morne was always available to us by phone and email - he was very quick to respond to any questions or requests. The grounds and pool were expertly maintained and always clean. The condo is located just a short walk from the beach - which we usually had all to ourselves. This property truly made our vacation feel like a peaceful getaway with a private beach. We felt extremely spoiled and well cared for during our time at this property and truly thank Morne for his exceptional hospitality (and apologize for how incredibly over-due this review is)! Almost a year later and we still think back on our amazing time there and can't wait to go back some day!

“Heaven on Earth in Grand Cayman” The reviews and pictures don't begin to do this Boggy Sand Road property justice! We rented the ground floor unit, which was absolutely spotless, elegant, roomy, well-equipped and only a few steps to the most beautiful beach. The area is residential, private and quiet - like we had somehow privately rented Seven Mile Beach! The grounds of the property were garden-like and the pool was lovely and clean. Our rental car was nice to have but not necessary - there is a Foster's Market within a short walk of the condo, as well as a few great little restaurants (Alfresco's, Timbuctuu and Heritage Kitchen). The bus service is great - more like hailing a cab with pick-up right at the foot of the driveway. But back to the beach...the unit is equipped with 2 kayaks and a paddle board, which we enjoyed tremendously on the calm, crystal-clear waters. Cemetery Beach is right next door for some of the best snorkeling we had ever experienced. The Kittiwake Shipwreck is directly off shore for another fantastic snorkeling experience. We even enjoyed swimming with our own resident sea turtle every day! The condo unit itself was spacious and fully equipped with everything you need - beach towels, chairs, umbrella, rafts and cooler;fully-equipped, gorgeous kitchen with granite counter tops, beautiful and spacious bathrooms, and super-comfortable beds. Although our "kids" were 15, the unit would be wonderful for families with smaller children as well. I must say, the absolute best part, however, was our gracious host Morne, who made us feel like pampered family members visiting from out of town. He picked us up from the airport, made sure we had everything we needed, made great recommendations for activities and restaurants, was never intrusive but always available for anything we needed. I would (and will) vacation here again in a heartbeat, and make the highest recommendation to anyone to enjoy the vacation of a lifetime at this property! Just please don't take the week I want! ;)

Cayman Reef Resort #50 - Best Value on the Beach

Seven Mile Beach apartment

  • 1 bedroom

“Great location, Great value, Great accommodations” The best way to express my wife’s and my satisfaction with this condo is, this was our third consecutive stay here. My wife and I have been coming to the Caymans off and on since 1985 and have stayed in several other accommodations over the years, but this is by far our favorite. We have had the pleasure of meeting Marc (the owner), and I am impressed with his attention to detail, helpfulness, prompt response to any questions, and his overall commitment to making his guests visits trouble free and enjoyable. The location is excellent and the beach area is as good, or better, than any other spot you will find along Seven Mile Beach. There are fine restaurants and shopping within easy walking distance of the condo, making the need for a rental car only an option not a necessity. I feel strongly that this is the best overall vacation value on the island. My wife and I see no reason to look elsewhere for our future trips to Grand Cayman.

“Immaculate, Convenient, Detailed - Awesome Location!” We've been to Cayman many times and this location was super for a party of two. The walking convenience to the beach and Camana Bay areas made it super. The details of manuals provided, communication with the owner, and cleanliness were all much appreciated!

“We all loved it!” We had a group of 6 women that stayed for a week in February. This was everything and more! It had everything that we needed. We were on the beach most of the time and it was awesome. The pool was nice, too, but we are beach girls and love to people watch! I would definitely recommend this to friends and families. We used the washer and dryer daily. Didn't do a lot of cooking, but there was every appliance we would need. Loved sitting on the screened in deck in the morning with coffee and just relaxing before we went out for supper. Sandy at the front desk was a great help. too.

About Seven Mile Beach

With a backdrop so picturesque, you can almost forgive Seven Mile Beach for only being six-and-a-bit miles long.

Find a Seven Mile Beach vacation rental on the shoreline by using FlipKey, and you'll never want to leave this wonderful stretch of sand.

About Seven Mile Beach

You'll find Seven Mile Beach on the west side of Grand Cayman, the largest of the three Cayman Islands in the Caribbean.

This crescent-shaped beach is known for being one of the best in the Caribbean and is the busiest spot on the island. But don't be put off! The beach is so big, there's always a spot for you, your towel, and maybe an umbrella to keep cool under.

People flock to the area to take advantage of the surf, the sand, the first-class restaurants and millionaire villas that have popped up over the last few decades.

However, dig a little deeper and you'll see remnants of the area that was discovered by Christopher Columbus way back in 1503. You'll probably spot some other influences, too. The Caymans were once grouped with Jamaica and were a British colony until it gained its independence in 1962.

You'll find lots of unusual foods to try out here. Caymanas, the Carib for marine crocodile, is a special treat, but more often than not turtle meat is on the menu. You'll also find plenty of fish, especially conch, served in stews, fried or raw with lime juice and onions.

What to do

A mecca for divers and those who love to snorkel, Seven Mile Beach has a coral reef surrounding it that attracts turtles and tropical fish.

On a Stingray City tour, you can actually stroke the fish without fear of being stung! Starfish Snorkel is another 'must see' if you love getting up close and photographing aquatic life. Both are excellent for little ones.

Experience the island from a bird's perspective by signing up with one of the two parasailing companies. Book a rum distillery tour or, for those with a sweet tooth, visit to the Tortuga Rum Cake Factory in West Bay. Go sailing on a glass bottom boat, or try an underwater submarine trip around George Town Harbor where you may even spot the odd shark. History buffs will also appreciate the old ruins at Bodden Town and the Old Homestead's traditional Caymanian Cottage.

Top Seven Mile Beach travel tips

Seven Mile Beach can become incredibly busy during peak tourist season, so get there early to grab yourself a decent spot.

Look for the sign near the airport on Little Cayman declaring 'Iguanas have the right of way'. It's a great introduction to the area!

A taxi from the airport costs $18 dollars, it's the easiest way to travel since public buses don't always have room for a lot of luggage and, with poor air conditioning, can prove sweltering.

Surround yourself in nature and luxury by visiting Seven Mile Beach. Here, you can combine education with beach fun, by teaching your kids about the underwater marine kingdom that they can paddle in.

Search for a Seven Mile Beach vacation rental on FlipKey and get going! You don't want to miss out on the trip of a lifetime!

An Amazing 7 Mile Beach Experience

We had the opportunity to stay in William's condo, 320. It had a lot of great modern amenities. We were on the southern end of 7 mile beach with wonderful access to a swimming cove and snorkeling. Just moments from Georgetown and Camana Bay meant excellent shopping and dining. It was an amazing family retreat!!see more

Wonderful Stay, Beautiful Condo and Grounds, Easy to Work With

Condo is beautiful and exactly as described in the listing and in all communications with Marc. Very close to beach and water. Even closer than looks in pictures. Literally few steps out the door. Also close walk to great restaurants, stores and Camana Bay. Unit well equipped with towels, umbrella. Beach is gorgeous with beautiful turquoise warm water. Pool and grounds immaculate. Well maintained. Pretty landscaping. Enjoyed the screened porch with ceiling fan for morning coffee. Most gorgeous sunsets on the island right outside of the door. Marc was easy to work with ..... from the time of booking and throughout our stay. He touched base by email and phone upon our arrival to ensure we were doing ok. We would not hesitate to book again .... amazing experience.see more
Cayman Reef Resort #50 - Best Value on the Beach
Excellent Long Term Stay

Unit 50 was very suitable for my wife and me for a four week visit. We thought the overall experience was excellent and it provided excellent value for our money. We would definitely recommend Unit 50 and we plan to return. Don't expect luxury, but do expect comfort, convenience and a relaxing place to stay. The owner, Marc, is very well organized, responsive, a good communicator and a pleasure to deal with. There were no surprises. Marc's information packages were clear with all the information we needed for our stay in the condo plus he provided helpful information about the island. The resort is clean and well maintained with a good pool, on a non-crowded section of the beach with plenty of beach chairs for all. The resort staff were very helpful. The resort is very well located on Seven Mile beach within easy walking distance to restaurants, grocery stores and Camana Bay shopping. If loaded down with groceries, we took a taxi back. We did not need a car, although we rented one for a couple of days to explore the island farther afield, which I would recommend. If you dive, the resort is an easy walk along the beach to the Red Sail Sports locations at the Grand Cayman Beach Suites (GCBS) or the Marriott. If you own and don't rent, you can store your gear in lockers at GCBS so there is no need to lug it back and forth. The apartment is spacious and is comfortably furnished. We cooked and ate four to five dinners/lunches per week in the condo and ate at restaurants the other times. The electric barbeque works well but takes longer to heat up and to cook than a gas one, so we had to learn to plan accordingly. We took advantage of the option to have the apartment cleaned half-way through our stay. Our unit was at the back of the property overlooking the pool with a view of the sea in the distance. It was generally quiet, although there is construction on the adjacent property to the south and we could hear the backhoe from the pool area. Sometimes the Royal Palms Beach Club, three units north, plays music loudly when the cruise ship passengers are in or there is a special event. This is a benefit or a curse depending on your point of view. In summary, we found Unit 50 to be a good place to stay and we recommend it to others.see more

Fantastic Condo on a fantastic beach

This condo was more than we could have hoped for. Modern, new, clean and extremely well stocked with kitchen ware, towels and bed linens. Two screened in patios with a view of the sunset. A very clean pool just off the main balcony. Washer, dryer and dishwasher made this unit a very family friendly unit. My kids said that they thought the condo was better than home ! We plan on returning to grand cayman and when we do our first choice for lodging will be Cayman Reef Resort unit 56. Lastly, I can't imagine a more attentive landlord than Marc. His attention to detail and the comprehensive packets of information regarding the condo and Cayman in general wee invaluable. I felt like he was our personal concierge. He gave us advice on private tours, excursions and dining. We recommend this condo and Marc with 5 Stars.see more

Best Family Vacation Ever!

We came to Grand Cayman to scuba dive as a family. Our condo was a wonderful place to relax after our dive trips because of its proximity to the beach and the pool. Boggy Sands Beach Club is within walking distance of some great local food. Heritage Kitchen, ALFresco, and Calico Bar. The owner Morne Botes was attentive to all of our needs and great to work with. We highly recommend this place and hope to return very soon.see more

Excellent 1BR on SMB

My wife and I just spent six night in this great one bedroom condo on SMB. It was our first stay in the Caymans. The unit was exactly as advertised. Ample towels were provided, including beach towels. The unit has a full kitchen, with every appliance that you could ever want. The screened in patio, which was great for dinners, also has a nice electronic grill that I used to cook a beautiful red snapper that I purchased from a local fisherman in downtown George Town. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom large, the hot water VERY hot and plentiful, and the AC worked very well. The unit is reasonably stylish, with several nice finishes throughout. The condo building has a mix of vacationers and residents. The pool isn't huge, but more than adequate if you want to take a quick dip. There is a tennis court in very good condition in front of the building. The private beach has several recliners and umbrellas. We never had to fight anyone for use of these, but that may be different during peak travel times. The location of the unit was IDEAL. The resort is on the beach, which is obviously a big plus. Additionally, there are TONS of great food options within a quick 5 minute walking radius. To quickly name a few, Chicken Chicken, Al La Kebab, and several restaurants at Camana Bay were all excellent. We rented a car, which we found useful to get to the grocery store several times. In hindsight, could we have done this by taking cabs or buses? Yes. But we liked the flexibility. The owners provided us with ample suggestions and guides to help make our first stay on island more pleasant. Marc was very responsive to emails and was on top of everything. All in all, the unit worked out great. We didn't spend a whole lot of time there, as we were out every day diving. But the time that we did spend there was very pleasant. We would certainly consider renting this unit again.see more
