    Additional Location Information

estled in the heart of the Cotswolds, Churchcourt Cottages are located in the ancient and historic village of Prestbury, which has retained its village character and has an array of attractive houses, thatched cottages and picturesque pubs. Soft honey coloured stone walls, timber framed buildings and thatched or Cotswold stone tiled roofs are the features of Prestbury, giving it the distinctive look of Cotswold country village.
Both Leckhampton and Bredon Cottages are named after two of the surrounding hills, (both of which make for fantastic walks!) and have been individually restored with great attention to detail whilst retaining their original charm including exposed beams, arched windows and cosy accommodation combined with all the mod-cons and creature comforts you would expect with 4 star accommodation The elegant spa town of Cheltenham (just 3 miles away) offers many attractions - superb architecture, antique shops, galleries, museums, concerts, restaurants and fine shopping - and the famous National Hunt Racecourse.
Prestbury is situated approximately 2 hours from London, within an easy drive of Stratford-upon-Avon, Broadway, Bath, the Royal Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley, and the many delightful towns and villages of the Cotswolds. World famous Sudeley Castle is just ten minutes drive, with a new fantastic childrens play area as well as guided tours of the Castle available throughout the year.

Super cottage, very well presented and good base on edge of Cots

Left on 08/28/2011 for a stay in July 2011

Booked this Cottage with Late availability website. Before I arrived had a concern that the it wouldn't have a village feel as Prestbury is now another suburb of Cheltenham. However the cottages are located in an old street next to the medieval Church and a typical thatched roof Cotswold stone pub and my doubts were dispelled. The booking was easy and the response from the owner was very quick and helpful. We stayed in Bredon Cottage which is one of a number of cottages on what looks like converted farm buildings. The cottage backs on to the village pub and although you could hear some noise from the beer garden it wasn't too intrusive. We spent a few evenings there and the atmosphere was great with some impromptu live folk music one night.

The cottage was very well equipped and furnishings and amenities are a high standard. Only downside was WiFi extremely slow but as I was trying to avoid work e-mails was probably no bad thing! We got a discount for one room occupancy and enjoyed the location so much we extended our stay by another night without any difficulty.

I would recommend these cottages for a short break. The conversion is very tastefully done and although there isn't much of a view the 'courtyard' was perfectly adequate for al fresco drinks. Would go back if ever in that area again. We were delighted with the standard of accommodation which is up there with some of the 'luxury' self catering we have visited in other parts of Britain.
