My husband and our 2 university aged children stayed for 4 nights at this wonderful guesthouse . The hosts and her staff made us welcome and offered insights into excursions and side trips without being intrusive.
The rooms and facilities were cleaned properly each day. One of our rooms was on the third floor , wonderful view but the water pressure was not so good for the showers and the towels could be thicker. All in all the stay at this guest house added enjoyment to this Chiang Mai trip. -

Flora House is without a doubt the nicest guest house around. Its immaculately clean, tasteful in decor and the gardens always full of flowers. The staff are lovely, polite and friendly, the owners are an absolute delight. I stayed at Flora House for 4 weeks while getting Dental Treatment at Lanna Dental (only 5 minutes walk away incidentally). Do yourself a favour and book a room.

Loved the atmosphere, beautiful space, the staff was super friendly, the space is very easy to find as it it right in front of the Chiang Mai City Hotel! Extremely clean hotel, I was very impressed.
More importantly, the place is very safe! Also, they had a coffee shop next to eat were the food was delicious!
I highly recommend it to family, solo travellers and even budget travellers! -

We found this place while walking around Chiang Mai city and fell in love with it at the first sight. After checking the room conditions, we decided to move over to this lovely place.
Room is clean, well design and decorated with shower, air-con, mini-bar and a balcony.
Staff is freindly. Coffee lover is just next door. There is also a travel agent right at the gate of the guest-house where you can book all your trips. The owner of this place is a couple who are really friendly. While you chat with them, it's like at home.
Overall, this is a real nice place to stay, as well as good price! -

i have stayed 5 times now in chaing mai and came to Flora house because it looked good on the internet. Many places look good on the net but fail to meet expectations when you arrive. Not so with Flora house it is a delightful small guesthouse. the attention to detail is superb. the cleanliness is exceptional. Somsri the owner speaks good english and is absolutely dedicated to making your stay the best it can possibly be.

Flora house is exceptional to say the least, its modern, spotless, very tasteful decor, and the owner Somsri is an absolute delight. The service was 100% as were the rates. If you want a very clean and comfy affordable guest house in Chiang Mai do not go anywhere else. In my opinion this is the only place to stay. Cheers Tony Born

Rachamankha (Flora's Guest House) was a great discovery for us, made our journey in Chiang Mai even more perfect.
The location of the place, a little bit far from the crowded center, give us a very peaceful holiday, after our long and extreme trip in Chiang Mai.
The rooms are really clean and cozy with a nice design; a mixture of Thai traditional textiles and wooden furniture with modern simplicity, that makes us really feel at home. It also have a little terrace with a nice view of the famous Wat around that area. Sit on the terrace with a cup of tea in my hand, was one of the joy that i felt in that place.
Not only the accommodation, The staff attention also the plus point of Rachamankha. The owner were really kind and friendly, they give us a lot of information about the best spot and event in Chiang Mai.
Therefore, we really thankful that we could found, and stayed in this guest house, the real guest house that made our journey unforgettable,,, -

Had a very enjoyable stay here during our 4 days in Chiang Mai. The rooms were excellent - shower was great. The cafe next door which is part of the Rachamankha Flora House cooks up a fine breakfast - anything you want. Free internet at the reception with 3 PCs. Also a good and quick laundry service available.
The staff were great - they will arrange a trek trip for you or organise a trip whereever you want to go. Given the limited time we had, they helped us see as much of Chiang Mai as possible and gave us great advice.
Overall impressed with how nice and how accommodating Somsri and the staff were.
I would definately stay here again - without a doubt
I hope to be back again some day.

This is a new hotel in good location. Everything is OK.
Except:
There are a few ants around the room.
It would be better to equipped with screens or nets to prevent mosquitoes.
The lock of room is third-rate. Someone had broken into my room when I slept. -

The house is plenty nice. Super comfortable beds, really clean rooms, and it's about a 15 minute walk to all of the Old City sites.
BUT
We had rented two rooms for two nights and after spending one night, we came back on the second day and they had moved me out of my room and into my parents' room. They just gathered up my stuff (which was spread out across the room), packed it all into my bag, and dropped it off in my folks room without asking. They had other customers walk in looking for three rooms and with only two rooms available they decided that they could make a quick buck and fill the place up for the night. They had my cell, and chose not to call (because I'm sure they knew what the answer would've been). Sleazy.
Also, the Tour Company out front is not to be trusted. It's way over priced (you're better off going into the Old City and getting somebody else for half the price), but we decided to go with them out of convenience (and in good faith). For a number of silly reasons we ended up having a driver change in the middle and the promised English speaking driver suddenly was transformed into a non-English speaking driver. The price was not changed to reflect this significant change in tour quality.
And on the last day, when were heading to the Bus Station we asked for a taxi through the house, which really just meant we were getting the owner's brother driving us to the bus station, which would've been fine if he didn't feel entitled to charging us 200 Baht for a ride the day before had cost 60 Baht in a proper taxi. I didn't mind the 140 Baht, but how sleazy! We already had given these people so much business, but they couldn't help themselves to another 4 bucks.
Save yourself the headache and book someplace else. For the cost of this place you'd think they'd be above nickel and diming you at every turn, but you'd be wrong. -

If you are looking for a rich Chiang Mai experience, the Flora house provides a perfect starting point. Family owned and operated, this gem can be found next to award winning coffee and within minutes from some of the best food in town, Huen Phen.
The rooms are clean and simple with (AC and TV), but we spent very little time in our rooms. During the day, we toured around Chiang Mai either guided by the knowledgeable and friendly Mr. "Korn", or on our own via mo-peds.
Highlight: fresh fruits and conversation mid afternoon with Somsi, her friends and family. Seriously wonderful people; we will return! -

We stayed at Ratchamankha Flower House on a business trip , in need of a rest from Bangkok. We found a lovely little house with a well kept garden, and a very clean and modern interior. The rooms are spacious and airconditionned; the bathroom is also modern and very clean.
We keep a fond memory of the owners, who are two joyfull and very pleasant people, full of little attentions such as a plate of fresh fruit from the market while consulting our Emails....lovely people.
The location of the house is a bit off the busy beaten track of Chiangmai, which we did appreciate as being quiet and only a comfortable walk from the East side. There is also a great restaurant only 5 min walk from the house, with food from northern Thailand (ask the owners!). Good to know: breakfast is served in the coffe house next door, which has good coffee and capucinos, or you have the choice of a buffet b'fast at the hotel accross the road (included in the price of the room). Small pool also accross the road.
As a result, we had a great time, quiet and comfortable. Higly recommended place!! -

Hi Paiboon- I had a really wonderful time at your guesthouse- was hoping to extend my trip longer but finally got the call and had to return home for a project here.
Had a wonderful time at the night market with you and your wife and Suwy- Can you email me your phone number so I can talk with you sometimes? Actually, I have no internet connection and so must go to an internet cafe inrermittently, so it is not a good way to reach me if your communication is time-sensitive!
Anyway, my mobile # is 089-681-2441 and I do hope to come back to Chiang Mai when I can, and hopefully move there soon in the future!

Rachamankha Flora House located in the Old City within walking distance to the Sunday Walking street and Tha Phar Gate. The house is set well back from the road and rooms are quite and very well appointed with a bland of modern comfort and Thai style.
The Flora House has the luxury of five star accommodation and the atmosphere of home. The staff are attentive and the owner and his wife are charming and approachable. The owner is a retired professor from Chian Mai University and always open for a interesting conversation while he is free, his charming wife is well traveled and very hospitable.
Mr and Mrs Korn are extremely helpful with all my travel arrangements. The Coffee Lover Cafe next door makes the best coffee in Chiang Mai for those who can not start the day with a good cup of coffee.
I will definitely stay in Rachamankha Flora House when I visit Chiang Mai again and happily recommend it to anyone.

This small boutique hotel was the perfect place for us to stay in Chiang Mai. The staff bent over backwards for us, organized our cooking class within minutes, rented a motor bike and did our laundry in a snap, oh and it was all at a very reasonable price. This is the best bang for your buck! The boutique had free internet in the lobby; the newly designed rooms were warm, up to date and very clean. They will need some art work down the road and perhaps some better sleeping pillows, but all is in all this was our favorite stay throughout Asia. The family owned boutique provided hospitality like your mother in law, the good one that will do anything you need! The location is tucked away yet still very central. The night market was only about a 10 min walk down the same street. The neighborhood was quiet. The AC worked great and the top floor had the best views but no elevator. I would highly recommend the Flora House for your next stay.

It's one of the most wonderful place I've ever stayed. The house is
surrounded by beautiful flower and good atmosphere. The room is so
nice and clean. The service is also great with the friendly staff,
especially the fantastic hospitality from the owner.
I'd strongly recommend this place-especially if it's the first time for
you in Chiang Mai. Because the house is located in the centre of city,
just only 10 minutes walk to Tha Pae Great Wall and five minutes to
walking street market (only weekend).
So 10 stars is possible for such a wonderful accommodation and great
services. -

Bangkok, ThailandSongkran Festival Break
Left on 06/11/2009 for a stay in April 2009
We decided to head up to Chiangmai in the north of Thailand during this period in April to enjoy the Songkran Festival (Thai New Year with the added water-splashing tradition!). Not wanting to stay in normal hotel, we got a recommendation from a friend who stumbled upon this place when it was first newly opened at the beginning of the year. The location is brilliant, bang in the middle of the city centre where a ride from the airport only took less than 10 minutes! The famous "Walking Street" where there are over five hundred variety of vendors gathered on the weekend for people to find something to buy themselves or as souvenirs, is within ten minutes walking distance. The goods range from traditional locally-made handicrafts, artworks, garments, beauty accessories to home decors. While walking along, you'll find plenty of food stalls and coffee shops to fulfil your appetite and reenergise. Foot massage is also available if you feel in need of a rest. Since we were up in the north, of course we want to sample local authentic northern cuisine which one restaurant offering this was surprisingly close to the lodge. The food was delicious and not did not cost that much at all. The room itself is comfortable with readily available amenities such as a decent size LCD cable TV, air-conditioning unit, hot-water shower and a small balcony. The owners and staff are extremely friendly and could speak English very well as well as some Japanese also. Information about places to visit or other activities which Chiangmai has to offer could be inquired and arranged directly at the lodge. Examples of activities include elephant-riding, temple visitation, traditional Thai massage, extreme sports (ATV, paintballing, go-karting). If like us, you choose to come during this period in April, be prepared to get soaked all day long because everyone everywhere will be throwing water around to cool down the high summer heat. It has been a relaxing stay and wish you could experience the same.

My girlfriend and I were on our first trip to Chiang Mai. We made no arrangements but fortunately, we met some good people who pointed us to the Flora House. The brand new house had a good feel even before we walked in. The house included free internet and spacious rooms. The bathroom was well... a normal bathroom but it was decorated beautifully. The owner and his family were very helpful with answering sightseeing questions and offering help. We only had 2 nights in Chiang Mai so, we ended up booking a tour through them and had the best day seeing the temples, riding elephants and jungle flight!!! If you're looking for a place to stay in Chiang Mai, we highly recommend The Flora House. We're planning on our second trip to Thailand next year and we'll definitely stay there again.

We stayed almost one month and with wonderful memories. We felt as part of the family while we were there. We spent fabulous time with the owners (Professor and his charming Wife). They made every effort to make our life enjoyable besides taking us out to non-tourist area away from the city center. The maid service, especially the laundry service was much better than any of four-star hotels needless to say at the fraction of cost.
The guesthouse was very quite in night with tranquil surroundings. The location is an ideal for old city where every weekend part of the street is cornered off for night market for bargain hunters. There are plenty of restaurants (Thai as well as European) are at a walking distance and streets are well illuminated, and safe in night.
We definitely will stay here again since Rachamankha Flora House felt like a second home while away from home.
