Brisbane, AustraliaA very good stay, but with a few issues to address
Left on 08/13/2011 for a stay in July 2011
We stayed in this apartment in late July, three adults and two children (8 and 5). There are many positives about this apartment, but just a few things kept it from being a five star stay.
First, it's in a terrific area. A lovely leafy street, with an easy walk to the trains and plenty of restaurants and shops. It's also just 5-10 minutes walk up to Wrigely Field and all the bars and restaurants around it. We went to a game while staying and it was the perfect location. If you want to, its about a $10-15 cab ride to the centre of the city.
The apartment is located on the second floor, up a few short external stairs and one long internal staircase. It's in pretty good condition and tasteful decorated. There are three bedrooms, all doubles. Two bedrooms are relatively modest in size while the third bedroom, situated out the back, is quite large. There arequite lovely bathrooms in the hallway, neither are ensuites, but it does give everyone a fair bit of room. There is a very modern kitchen, living room with TV/Cable, dining room for six and free Wifi. It's very nice, with plenty of space and much better than a hotel.
We enjoyed staying here but a few things let the stay down, all of which could be remidied by the Owner. We were not met at check-in and there was no information about the apartment awaiting us - apparently the Owner's book had been stolen and it has not been replaced. As a result there was quite a bit of confusion as we figured everything out (emailing the owner) and no information on the local area (where to get food etc...). The apartment was clean, but had not been well checked. The DVD player's cable had been ripped from the TV, so did not work. There was no key to the laundry (which we eventually learnt is not in the apartment, but shared in the basement). For an apartment for six, there were three wine glasses, one of which was chipped. The ironing board had been badly damaged and could not stand up. The air conditioning rattled noisily (fixed in part by giving it a good bang we were told). There were also about 20 flies in the rear bedroom for some reason. Once killed they did not return during the stay, but it wasn't a good look upon arrival. Also, there were no drawers in any of the bedroom closets - just hanging space. We found one unassembled set of drawers in a closet still in its box.
Our biggest problem, however, was the lack of black-out blinds in any of the bedrooms - just thin curtains. In summer, it get's light early. Worse, there are several spotlights on neighbouring buildings which shine into the bedrooms. One was motion activated and went on/off through-out the night. We all found this to be a very bright apartment and I ended up going on to buy a sleeping mask.
This really is a nice apartment, but it just lacked a little attention to detail to deal with some of these issues. The owner received this feedback positively so perhaps they will be dealt with soon, which would make this apartment a terrific stay in Chicago. We would stay here again subject to some black-out/darker curtains being installed. -

Beautiful house that was just a few blocks from Wrigleyville and Wrigley Stadium. House beautifully furnished and comfortable with bathrooms & bedrooms both upstairs and downstairs. Backyard also featured a nice place to sit & visit and grill if you wanted to.

Pulaski, TNForget Sterile High-Rises: Welcome Home
Left on 07/15/2010 for a stay in July 2010
Me, my wife, and three friends decided in July to visit a friend who moved to Chicago. I was in charge of finding a place to stay for the week. Everyone envisioned high-rise condos or hotel rooms. This property popped up in our price range and seemed to offer everything I was looking for, but we were worried it might be a little off the beaten path. This place is anything but. We were a 5 minute walk to Wrigley for the July 4th Cubs game. We were a 5 minute walk to the Red Line Belmont CTa Station. Close-by restaurants such as Giordano's and Melrose Restaurant are great. The property itself was immaculate and appointed well with new kitchen appliances, abundant linens, and soft beds. The kitchen is fully-stocked with utensils, glassware, cookware, and anything else you might need to eat-in. The two ceramic-tiled bathrooms were more than enough for the five of us to share. The nearby park and quiet streets make for great morning/evening runs. There is even access to a coin-op laundry in the basement if needed. Overall we could not have asked for a better place to stay. In a city full of high-rise condos and hotels, this place truly stands out as a home away from home. I recommend the property to anyone and look forward to staying there again.

The unit was perfect for our group (2 couples and a friend). Location was great to easily get to Wrigley Field, the EL, and many restaurants and bars. Check-in and access to the unit was great and the owners were very helpful with info about the area and quickly answering any questions we had. I would recommend this unit and would stay here again.

What a great location and space. It's close to the Red line and smack dab, right in the middle of a wonderful neighborhood (Belmont). It's an easy walk to restaurants and anything your really need.
The space was clean, well stocked and offered a nice respite from all the work related things we were doing. I'd definitely would stay here again! -

The Condo is in an excellent location. The interior is very clean, nicely decorated and very comfortable. There was a binder with all the information you could possibly need. There wasn't one thing that was missing from the laundry to the parking every detail was addressed.
We were there for our daughters college graduation and we appreciated staying in a home environment where we could all be together and enjoy the backyard as well as the city. -

Like owning your own pad in Chicago. I lived in Chicago for 10 years. Every time I came back to visit I stayed in a hotel....it's not the same. This is located so close to the "L" and all the hot spots in Lincoln Park. I will stay here again and recommend to all friends and family.
