Wilmington, NCGorgeous Retreat
Left on 02/20/2012 for a stay in February 2012
We just got back from a three-day stay at Spring House Farms. We stayed in the restored 1835 cottage and absolutely loved it. We hiked the trails daily, relaxed in the hot tub nightly, and enjoyed walking through the creek with our Lab, as well as reading in the rocking chairs on the front porch, and lounging on the hammocks in the gazebo. It was truly a perfect retreat from our busy lives, and we can't wait to get back to Spring House Farms next year.

Indianapolis, INAbsolutely, totally secluded, No outside interruptions, Complete
Left on 12/30/2011 for a stay in April 2011
I searched for many hours for a "secluded" cabin for my husband and I to get away from it all. This is the only place I could find that met my specifications of secluded. When we arrived, we found exactly what we wanted: peace and quiet, beautiful wooded mountains with the sound of the quiet stream, birds and insects chirping, winds rustling through the trees, no interruptions of cell phones, cable, or the Internet. We could also go out onto our cabin's deck and not see or hear anyone around us. That is my definition of secluded. If you want to escape the "busyness" of your world, make a reservation and stay for a weekend. You won't be disappointed and you will leave refreshed!

49136Perfect Romantic Getaway
Left on 12/28/2011 for a stay in December 2011
This was our second stay with Spring House Farms. We stayed in the Complete angler both times. The first time was in early Fall when the leaves were starting to change and rain showers hit the tin roof. This trip was during Christmas. Both times, the weather was cool enough to enjoy the fireplace and hot tub. This cabin is new, clean, well maintained, secluded, private, smells like fresh cut wood, and looks just the picture. There is no phone, no internet, no television or cell phone reception. They provide a satellite radio, games, and a television to play DVD/tapes, and that is all we needed. I would not have had it any other way. The bed was very clean & comfortable. You can see the fireplace while laying in the bed which adds to the romance. In addition to the shower & claw foot tub, I was both surprised & delighted to see a bidet in the bathroom. There is a small pond below the cabin with boats if you want to float around. We took advantage of the 2 1/2 mile trail on the property and it was a nice walk. The fresh baked bread is a very nice plus. They had a comment book on the table that prior guests had signed. It was fun reading the different reasons for their stays and realized they all had enjoyed it as much as we did. I hope they don't change a thing. Zee & Arthur have one of the best kept secrets in NC.

Great spot for a honeymoon
Carrboro, NCExcellent spot for a getaway!
Left on 08/28/2011 for a stay in May 2011
We stayed at the Compleat angler for 2-nights after our wedding -- our "mini-moon"! It was the perfect choice. Very easy drive from the Triangle, smooth, simple check and then, for 48 hours, complete solitude. Great hiking trail (complete with guide dog), great bird watching, fantastic lounging in the gazebo with rose bushes in bloom, and fantastic star gazing and frog listening. I highly recommend The Cottages at Spring Lake Farm.

Charlotte, N.C.Secluded escape, with modern conveniences
Left on 07/02/2011 for a stay in June 2010
We have been twice and loved every minute ... stayed at The Reach both times, a secluded cabin up a hill ... love the welcome, fresh bread, modern conveniences in a natural throw-back setting ... a great place to bring your significant other, grill a steak, open a really good bottle of wine and kick back ... see the stars, hear the noise of life in the country... you leave in a much different state than you arrive ... The Reach is totally secluded. Great people with a great vision.

I loved the location and the limited number of cabins. It was quiet, private and very relaxing. Getting a tour of the farm house and spring house was so interesting! Close to many other beautiful mountain destinations.
Hope to return some day.
