A much-needed beach getaway awaits if you stay at The Dolphin on Chincoteague Island. The Dolphin is a traditional Chincoteague cottage that has been updated for your relaxation and enjoyment. In addition to the WRAPAROUND SCREENED PORCH and cushioned PORCH SWING, on the first floor of the house you will find:

- A KITCHEN, fully stocked with utensils, dinnerware and all of the cookware necessary to make a tasty meal, including a pot large enough for steamed crabs or other shellfish! The Kitchen also boasts a LARGE CUSTOM-MADE TABLE with a beach scene beneath the glass (see picture below).

- A utility closet with a WASHER & DRYE...R is located off of the kitchen.

- Two FAMILY ROOMS, with a pull-out couch. Sheets will be provided. If you want a quiet night in, enjoy our TV, DVD/VCR player, and our collection of board games, movies and books.

- A FULL BATHROOM is located downstairs, off of one of the family rooms.

Upstairs, you will find:

- A comfortable BEDROOM, complete with TWO TWIN BEDS and a TV, overlooks a quiet Chincoteague street. Sheets will be provided.

- A MASTER BEDROOM with a QUEEN SIZED BED. Sheets are provided.

- A BATHROOM, complete with the ORIGINAL STAINED GLASS DOOR is attached to the master bedroom.

The Dolphin is located on a quiet street with very little traffic, the perfect location for enjoying the WRAPAROUND SCREENED PORCH and comfortable, cushioned PORCH SWING. The porch has plenty of additional seating and overhead lighting on a dimmer switch to 'set the mood.' The driveway is large and has enough OFF-STREET PARKING FOR 4 VEHICLES or a trailer. Behind the house is an OUTDOOR SHOWER and a clothes line for hanging bathing suits and towels. In the RENTER'S SHED you will find:

- 6 bicycles

- Boogie boards

- Beach toys

- A Beach umbrella

- Beach chairs

- A crab net and bushel basket

- 2 clamming rakes

We try to keep everyday electronic 'distractions' to a minimum so that you can truly enjoy your loved ones' company (don't worry, if you really need to get your internet 'fix,' The Creamery, a nearby ice cream shop, offers free WIFI). This distraction-free environment lets YOU set the pace for your vacation. Relax on the shady porch or window-shop on Main Street. Use one of the bikes from the Renter’s Shed to enjoy the Wildlife Loop on Assateague (if you’re lucky you might see some wild ponies) or harvest shellfish on one of the Assateague trails. Build an evening bonfire on the beach (don’t forget to get a permit!) or look for seashells to add to your collection. Go back to a time of wholesome outdoor activities, none of which require staring at a screen!

  We had such an amazing time during our stay. The house was absolutely spotless (a very important detail with two little ones running around who put everything in their mouths,) and the kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed to prepare our fresh-caught seafood. The porch on the house was perfect for having long conversations, and the house is within easy walking distance to all the main Chincoteague eateries--most importantly, it is very close to the incredible Island Creamery! We definitely hope we go again!

  My sister & friends rented The Dolphin during the off-season for a girl's get-away weekend. We had a wonderful time. The authentic Chincoteague home is charming, cozy, and immaculately clean. We especially appreciated the spacious kitchen. The central location allowed us to spend our weekend strolling to the many quaint shops & restaurants that are in walking distance.
