Thoroughly enjoyed staying in the beautiful cottage. It was clean and warm, and on arrival we felt very welcomed. It was very close to pubs/restaurants in Chipping Camden. The beds were comfortable and all the facilities were available that were needed. Excellent!!

We are especially grateful to Jan for accommodating us at very short notice (the day before our stay), so thanks. The cottage did not disappoint. It was very comfortable and well equipped with everything required from a home from home. We had the larger flat which had a bedroom and shower room on the first floor (which we did not use) and an en suite bathroom on the top floor.
Chipping Camden is so beautiful it's almost like a Disney set. There are lots of places to eat and it makes an excellent base for exploring the Cotswolds. It's just 12 miles from Stratford-on-Avon. Though we didn't use it there is apparently a very good chip shop on Sheep Street - just a short walk from the cottage.
Although one reviewer mentioned that they were unable to park on the road outside the cottage, we were fortunate that there was a space for the two nights we were there. The only reservation I would mention (though it didn't apply to us) is that there are very steep spiral stairs between floors. It may be problematic to anyone with mobility problems or those with very young children.
I would not hesitate to stay here again. -

A lovely little flat, literally seconds walk from the high street with pubs, shops, etc, but perfectly quiet at night. Friends and I stayed in the flat which sleeps 4, and we all couldn't be happier with the sweet, homey feel of the place. Very clean, comfy beds, good-size bathrooms, and a nice relaxed feel. Tv, wifi, and good heating system, never cold even at night.
May not be ideal for families with young children or mobility issues, as access to the flat is through a door and up slightly narrow stairs, but otherwise ideal for a quiet country break.
Owners were very helpful - happy to chat on phone a few days before to discuss parking, and made the effort to provide milk, bread, cereal, biscuits and tea and coffee on our arrival - lovely surprise!
Parking is not allocated, so not always able to get a space right outside, but it is free all along the street, (which is not very big) so never more than few steps away from front door.
Eight Bells pub highly recommended for food; nearby Snowshill Manor (National Trust) very interesting and Broadway Tower for great views and the chance to explore a nuclear bunker.
Lovely stay, would definitely recommend, and would happily return again. -

We generally stay at this lovely cottage about three times a year. It is perfectly situated within walking distance of some very good restaurants and great pubs. The cottage has everything you could need with a cosy lounge and modern kitchen, bathroom and double bed. They have also recently installed wi-fi. Upstairs are some other rooms boasting a double and a room with twin beds as well as lounge, kitchen etc. All recently refurbished and stylish.
After a busy few days at the races, walking or driving around the spectacular countryside it is great to know that this characterful little cottage awaits. Shut the curtains, put the telly on, put the kettle on or open a bottle of wine and it is like 'home from home'. -

Left on 03/23/2013 for a stay in February 2013
February may not be an ideal time to stay in the Cotswolds, but the cottage made up for the rain. It was very comfortable, all necessary amenities were provided. The heating worked well, although the cottage took a few days to warm up after a freezing week (maybe it had been empty), so the logs provided at an extra cost were money well spent. The bedroom could have done with some airing previous to my stay (I would have preferred white linen sheets rather than flowery ones), and the shower room in apartment 1 is very small indeed. Both the bedroom and shower room have only very small windows which can be opened. The cottage is furnished in traditional English style and the sofa and chairs very comfy. Wifi worked very well.

Neive, ItalyDisappointment!
Left on 01/22/2013 for a stay in December 2012
I would agree with the other reviews in that this is a charming cottage in a great location in a wonderful village...but we had a few disappointments.
First, we spent the first half hour of our stay cleaning numerous cobwebs off the bedroom ceiling and dealing with some type of slug that we kept seeing on the kitchen floor. We then experienced the folks upstairs doing laundry, the spin cycle actually rattled the dishes in our apartment.
Wifi does not exist, except occasionally (by which I mean for 2 minutes at a time) and only in the bedroom, if you are very very lucky!
Telephone- is not actually in the apartment, it's in the freezing cold hallway and we could not get it to work. We walked down to the village and used the pay phone! Lots of fun to make our holiday greeting phone calls from a phone box!
Parking- we were told parking is on the street in front of the cottage. In the 6 days we were there we were only able to actually park on that street 2 times, otherwise we parked in the village wherever we could find a space and then walked to the cottage. This was not a problem for us, but should be noted in case someone has mobility issues.
All of the above seem small matters individually, but when lumped together make for a less than a "charming" stay.
We have been coming to the Cotswolds for 30 years and this was unfortunately our most disappointing stay.Response from Jan Revers - 01/26/2013

We take any criticism very seriously and where possible will address the issues raised. The cottage is an old historic building and as such has structural idiosyncrasies. It is professionally cleaned and we apologize if there was a lapse and the comments will be related appropriately.

Our stay in Chapter Cottage was so wonderful it was hard to leave! The cottage is warm and cosy and so relaxing. Jan and Peter are the ideal hosts , nothing was too much trouble for them and they responded immediately to any queries we had. They even decorated the Cottage with Christmas decorations which was a lovely touch and helped us to feel very much at home and festive. The location is perfect being at the lower end of high street making it quiet but within easy walking distance to anywhere in the town.Chipping Campden is a delightful village!

The cottage was cute and cozy. Jan and Peter were the best hosts and made sure we were comfortable and suggested some awesome sightseeing spots in this amazing ancient village close to many other amazing historical villages. The cottage had all the amenities you might need.

Chapter Cottage was a lovely, very pretty place to stay. We were welcomed by a generous basket of goodings. Our stay there was very comfortable and all the amenities of the cottage were great. The town has lots of lovely shops, a very good playground for kids and nice pubs. The pub next door does very good take away curries, for a price. The country side around is great. We had children with us and found lots of things for them to do.

I'll keep this short, but very sweet. Chapter Cottage was everything we could have imagined and more! My wife and I just stayed here for two weeks and we were so pleased with the location, accommodations and our hostess, Jan.
Jan went out of her way to help us with anything and even gave us her own scone recipe. We can't wait to try it. This cottage is extremely charming and we highly recommend you give it a try as well.Response from Jan Revers - 09/22/2011

I stayed in apartment 1 (sleeps 2 on the ground floor) and received a warm welcome from the owners. This is a very quaint but surprisingly spacious, beautifully furnished and appointed cottage but has all the modern conveniences. It is highly rated by the English Tourist Board and everyone who's stayed here, judging by comments in the visitors book. Although It is situated only a couple of minutes walk away from the many interesting shops, pubs and hotels of Chipping Campden I was relieved to find it does not suffer from serious traffic noise, even in high season. This must surely rate as one of the most beautiful villages in England (more like a small town, really!) and an excellent base from which to explore the Cotswolds.

During our april vacation to the UK, my sister and her husband, along with my husband and me with our two grandchildren (ages 7 and 2) spent three wonderful days and two nights at this lovely Chapter Cottage. The location was truly in the 'heart of England' and perfect for visiting the sites we wanted to see. The cottages (apartments 1 and 2) were lovely. The welcoming baskets were such a nice touch, providing the 'fixings' for a lovely Tea Party with our granddaughter on the beautiful patio just off the kitchen. Everything needed was provided, making our stay at Chipping Campden such a wonderful experience. Thank You!!
