We rented condo 204 on the second floor of Ocean's One which has a spectacular view of the ocean and the beach. Bonnie made the entire rental process simple and easy. She even booked our dinner reservation for the night that we arrived. After picking up our rental car at the airport, we arrived at Ocean's One early evening and were greeted by Rebecca, at the front gates. Rebecca showed us the ins and outs of the complex and was very helpful in answering all of our questions. We were very grateful to discover the refrigerator was stocked with all the necessities for breakfast for the following morning so that we didn't immediately need to go shopping.
The unit was well-appointed and comfortable, and the kitchen is well-equipped. The unit has 2 bedrooms, living area, large TV, wireless internet, full kitchen (including dishwasher and wine fridge), and balcony with table and lounge chairs. The balcony views are wonderful looking out at the pool and beach and provide a calm and relaxing environment. Throughout the week Bonnie called us to ask us if we needed anything and if there was anything we needed, to simply ask.
The property is located on the south part of the island and is a very short drive to St Lawrence Gap where there are many restaurants. In addition, the grocery store, pharmacy and Ostins is less than a five minute drive. The location is an ideal starting point for driving to all areas on the island.
The beach is not crowded and the ocean is great for swimming and is very clean. The beach out front of the condo has pink and white sand where you can walk a fair distance along the beach. The pool area is adjacent to the beach and offers lounge chairs, some shade and a relaxing area to drift away to the sound of the ocean waves.
Overall we had a wonderful stay at Ocean's One and are returning to Barbados next March and are renting from Bonnie again.

Before we even arrived at our Ocean One condo, Bonita had answered so many email questions, I felt like I already knew her, she was amazingly helpful, before and during our stay, thank you:)
We were given a 3 bed condo as the 2 beds were taken at no extra cost to us! We are British but live in NYC (20 years) and my husbands brother and wife from the UK joined us. This was a perfect spot as both hubbies need a well earned rest. The amenities in the apt were top quality and we needed/wanted nothing extra.
The apt was amazing, it really doesn't get any better, so close to everything but so private too.
The boys popped to the bar at the hotel next door and we also ate there a couple of times as the food was great so was the entertainment:) Oistins is a Friday night tradition and St. Lawerence Gap has some great places to eat.
We aso bought fish from the market a couple of nights, which the boys cooked, and sat on the balcony just enjoying the peace.
I really hope we can return and possibly explore more of the island as we just totally chilled this time around:)
The sea was a little rough all week as the wind was coming from the South/East so not very good for swimming but perfect for body surfing/wave diving:) It was the perfect temp and the wind kept you from getting too hot. I'd say March is a perfect time to go:)
ps We rented a car and hardly used it, taxis are cheap and easy:)

We had a wonderful stay at Ocean One. Booked a last minute short getaway. Everything you could ever want. Great accommodation, next to the Bouganvillea so you can walk to buy drinks and there is a restaurant where you can have lunch or dinner. Easy access to The Gap. Last time we stayed we stayed on the West Coast which was very high end and not as much fun! but The Gap has some of the best restaurants I have eaten at and all within a short Taxi Ride from the Condos. Never consider staying anywhere else... you will get everything you want... right on the beach. Cannot wait to return..

I have to say that everything I was told and everything I read was exactly that and more... I even Slept one morning on the Balcony it was so restful with the sounds of the waves it was peaceful. We had the best of both worlds... The beach a stone throw away, and the Pool as you exit the building... Everything was so close...
I also have to say I have a rainshower at home, so it was a pleasant surprise to have the use of that there... There were monkeys right next door that was on the wall every morning... Comfortable beds... And very clean. The View from our dinning room was Gorgeous when we sat down for breakfast, and the Balcony views were Spectacular... I plan on coming again and hope I get the same apt # 401. Thanks to our housekeeper and albert for his beautiful Condo. My friends and I had such a blast until we are going through withdrawrals..
I have to also mention that the Security there in the building was a Plus. Made us feel very comfortable everytime we left and came back to relax... Most Definitely we will be back... Thanks again albert. It was best!! -

We stayed in apartment 204 at Ocean One in February 2012. It was a really fantastic, clean, well appointed and spacious apartment in a beachfront location that could not have been better. It is one of the best apartments we have stayed at in Barbados and we highly recommend it. Albert and his staff were knowledgeable and helpful and always on hand if we needed them.

We visited beautiful Barbados this past February, and were lucky enough to find Ocean One when booking our stay! We were travelling with two small children (both under two years old) and had pretty specific requirements when choosing our accomodations, and albert was incredibly helpful. He answered all our questions promptly via email, and found us the perfect unit. We stayed in unit 102, which had a stunning view of the ocean from it's very large balcony, was on ground level (perfect for walking in with strollers)but was still one floor up from the beautiful outdoor pool (essential for keeping our toddler safe). The three bedroom unit was very spacious, so our children had lots of room to play. The decor was modern and comfortable, and the whole building was very clean. For us having a complete kitchen and laundry in the unit was essential, and the kitchen did not disappoint! All staff that we met were friendly and helpful, and we felt very safe. There is not very much in the immediate walking area, but there were always taxis available at the neighbouring hotel (The Bougainvillea)and the restaurant there was amazing as well.

Just got back from an 8 day stay at Ocean 1 with our family of 4 (2 girls aged 9 and 11). We stayed at 301 and it was a great unit. The beds were very comfortable and the finishings in the condo of a very high standard. The views from this unit are exactly what you would hope for in a seaside condo - unobstructed views of the Caribbean. Ocean 1 is a high quality building and because there aren't a large number of units it is fairly private. We are already looking to go back next year.

We stayed in apt 301. From the airport pickup, to the time we left, we had a wonderful time! The accommodations were clean, convenient and the view was spectacular! We brought our children 4.5 and 7.5 years and we all had a great time. Our best, most relaxing vacation we had had in a long time. Highly recommend Barbados for the culture and the beauty.

We, a family of four (parents, one teen/one young adult ) spent one week at Ocean's One at the end of august 2011. We were in Condo 301, which offered us a great deal of space and the most amazing views of the beach!
The location of the condo is perfect, within a secured roadside gate. It is literally half way between St. Lawrence Gap and Oistins. We were able to walk to both St. Lawrence Gap and Oistins to do shopping. It is directly next door to the Bouganvilea Resort, which has a nice restaurant which is open to the public.
The condo is fully equiped and extremely comfortable and the pictures on Tripadvisor are exactly what the condo/grounds/pool look like. The condo was cleaned twice during the week by a very nice woman and the pool was cleaned daily. We prepared our meals and ate on the balcony most evening while watching the sunset. The condo had free wifi.
While we were there the weather was fabulous, despite the rest of the Caribbean being hit with tropical storms and a hurricane. We had a total of 40 minutes of rainfall in the entire holiday. As a result of the distant unsettled weather, we experienced a "storm tide" which brought ocean water and sand up onto the property and into the swimming pool. The swimming pool was shut for 2 days, but a quick telephone call to albert Scheper (Property Manager) facilitated a day of using the pool at the Ocean's Two condos, which are located just a short walk up the beach.
Albert Scheper and his team were fabulous to work with regarding the booking of the condo and the organization of transportation to and from the airport. Staff greeted us upon arrival at the condo and were available to answer any questions.
The condo was perfect for a family who enjoy their own space and are not interested in being entertained. We had taken some travel games and a puzzle and spent the time together "just hanging out."
We will return to Ocean's One! -

Ocean One. I really liked the look of this building and admired it from the beach on our two previous visits Barbados so on my return home last year decided to check out their website. I was very impressed with the apartments available and received prompt and honest replies from albert to my very many emailed questions. After looking at other options but liking the quiet location of Maxwell Beach, we decided to make the reservation. We have just returned from a fabulous two week stay. The apartment was perfect with every amenity you would need for a self catering stay. The apartment was luxurious, spacious, clean, comfortable, secure, very private and perfectly located for our needs. We had the most amazing time and have already made provisional enquiries to return again in 2012. If you are happy to cater for yourself and don't need the on site requirement of a hotel concierge and restaurant facility then you won't go wrong with Ocean One. We recommended it to others whilst there and would recommend it wholeheartedy here.

The apartment was perfect for our large family. The kids had a lot of space to play so we never felt closed in. I love the fact that the balcony had the glass allowing the kids to see the amazing view and we didn't have to worry about them climbing any slats on the balcony. Since we have 17 month old twins, the building doors and elevator were wide enough for the double stroller. Parking was also perfect especially when guests came over. The beach location couldn't be more perfect! We did have an incident with one of the residents who banged on our door at 11:30pm falsely accusing us of breaking her property. Other than her, the people we met at Ocean One were friendly and helpful.

My wife and our 2 teenage boys stayed in apt 204 for 2 weeks this July, and it was everything perfect!! From being met at the airport even though we were late arriving, to the checkout on our last day. Albert, Rashida,and the rest of the staff were great from the get go. The location is perfect, close to everything, and the view from the balcony has to be seen to be appreciated. I would recommend this rental to anyone. We will be back.

We stayed in unit 204 and the unit was exactly as described. The transaction overall went very smoothly with albert. We arranged our airport pick up through albert as well. The van and driver were excellent. Our check in went smoothly and we were given two sets of keys. We walked into the unit and the view just captures you. We loved having the covered deck for eating and lounging. The furnishings were very comfortable. The kitchen was well appointed with many extras. We would stay at this property again and book with albert as it all went flawlessly.

We recently returned from a vacation. We stayed at Ocean One. We stayed in Condo 202. The location of the Condo was superb. Right on one of the most beautiful beaches. The Condo has tight security which most would appreciate. I found it a bit of a problem as you alway had to take the elevator due to the doors on each floor being locked from the stairwell. The wait was not long, but i would have preferred to just run up the stairs. You also had to use a fob on a key chain to access the building from the beach. Again a great security measure, but a bother when the kids were running up and down to the beach and pool frequently. I didn't want them to lose the key or fob. Most people would and should appreciate the security but to me it was a bit of a bother. Luckily being on the second floor I could just toss the key fob down to whoever needed entry.
We rented Unit 202 and I would not recommend this unit. It is a three bedroom unit was was not well appointed. I was told that beach towels were supplied and in fact they were, but only 2 decent ones for a 3 bdrm condo. There were other towels, but they were either bath towels or ripped ones with bleach stains. The master bedroom had a king bed and a nice bathroom. The second bedroom had a queen bed with 2 mattresses instead of a boxspring. There was not enough support and it was quite uncomfortable and saggy. The 3rd bedroom was small with bunkbeds and was quite suitable to kids. It
The Condo was not well appointed with adequate basic needs such as dishes or glasses. During our stay the a/C in the front room stopped functioning and when we tried to figure out the problem we noted the batteries had been taken out of the a/C wall mounted control. Since it had been working in the past, someone must have entered the unit and taken them out. Not sure why, we assume that the outdoor compressor had issues so they took the batteries out. We would have preferred that they told us about this rather than just removing the batteries. The non functioning a/C in the front room did not affect us as there was adequate a/C in each bedroom. In addition for the majority of our stay there was a terrible sewer type smell each evening as we entered our Condo. Turning off the a/C seemed to help dissipate this smell. In talking to Owners in the building this Condo has a reputation for being substandard. A number of people express that there had been other guests who have stayed in this unit and have been unhappy.
Having said all that, I would say that staying in another unit would be fine. I noticed that other guests were quite happy with their units and that the other units were well appointed.
The beach is beautiful, but I must make note that there is almost no shade to be had. There are 2 spots on the grass by the pool where you can sit under a tree and get shade, but none on the beach. This is a big issue as the sun is so hot. The condo does supply loungers and there are plenty to go around. Some are reserved early, but we never had a problem getting one. We would also carry them down to the beach and back each day. The pool is small, but adequate. My kids loved playing in it. I was concerned that it would be an adult oriented building but it had a good mix of people and we were luckily in having a number of families staying there at the same time as us so there were lots of kids. All the Condo owners I met were very nice.
You really do need a car as there is not much within walking distance, especially in the hot sun. There is a minute or 2 walk to the closest bus stop if you would prefer to take the bus. Although Barbados is advertised as being safe, we were advised not to walk around after dark. This is prudent advice no matter where you are.
Bottom line, I think the Condo itself is fine if you take note of the things that i mentioned, but stay away from unit 202.Response from Angela Best - 10/24/2011

The main issue of contention with this guests stay at Ocean One apt 202 was the sewage smell they experienced in the apartment. Subsequent investigations revealed an improperly installed air-conditioning vent which had trapped stagnant water. This problem has long since been rectified. In addition new towels, glasses and plates were purchased for this apartment. Many happy guests have since stayed in this apartment.
The guest who provided the review still made a point of complimenting the property, its amenities and location acknowledging that their experience was not a common one at this property.
Barbados is in fact one of the safest Caribbean islands to visit with one of the highest rates of return visitors.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at Ocean One so much. We try to rent homes or apartments whenever we travel but had never done it before in the Caribean. It worked out very well and we would definitely return here. Location was perfect one a very quiet and relatively long beach. The sand and water are amazing. The condo was beautiful - modern, clean and had everything we needed. Any request we made were quickly dealt with by albert or the staff at Ocean One.

Delighted with the accommodation and the service provided. All queries raised before booking were answered quickly and efficiently, payment of deposit and final balance was very easy. Pick up at the airport was painless and we were met on arrival and shown around the apartment.
The apartment is very well equiped, comfortable and spacious. It is right on the beach and a gentle stroll along the beach to the middle of The Gap takes less than 15 minutes.
The small shop close to the apartment has most things you need for breakfast and light meals. The supermakets in The Gap have a larger range of things if you need them.
We hope to return to Ocean One and based on our experience would not hesitate recommend the apartment. -

A fantastic appartment (401), with a fabulous view, and a great beach to take a leisurely stroll along. Ideal for chilling out. We've stayed on the West Coast previously, and actually preferred this location. Service was good and unobtrousive. We'll certainly return to Ocean One.

This is the only place you want to stay in Barbados!!! Stayed here for couple of weeks, it is hard to impress Nyorkers, but this place has done it and even topped it, btw I don't normally write reviews, but I felt compelled!!! When I booked it, I couldn't even imagine how good it will turn out to be... Pictures on the site can't do justice to the units, fully furnished apartments, I didn't want to go out because I didn't want to offend the kitchen :), no seriously it would be a crime not to cook a meal in this fully complete kitchen equipped with high end GE appliances and fully furnished with any kitchen equipment you may think of.
Albert Scheper and his team has been very helpful throughout the booking process and the management in the building is very friendly and professional... Beach is excellent, St. Lawrence Gap and Oistins are few minutes away... Without a doubt, this is the place you want to stay on the South Coast!!! Be careful though, once you stay here you may not want to leave!:)

We just got back to cold Norway after a delightful holiday at Barbados. We stayed at different locations, and we had nine days at Ocean One. We very much liked the apartment, and the location. Especially we liked the airconditioned cabana down by the pool. It was perfect for the babies when they slept.

A spacious 2 bed condo which is furnished in a contempory style...with the right gadgets...from ice maker to docking station!!
There are 2 beautifully fitted bathrooms...one has a shower that could easily take four people!!...and the other has a full bath with sunflower shower over it .
Then there is the view... the first thing we did every morning was push back the floor to ceiling windows, gaze at the sea ...wow at the colours...again,and relish the sound of thetumbling waves...aahhh heaven!Response from Angela Best - 11/15/2010
