Singapore, SingaporeFantastic farm tour with hospitable hosts
Left on 12/14/2012 for a stay in November 2012
We stayed at the cottage which was super cosy and well-equipped. The kids had a blast jumping on the trampoline and enjoying the beautiful farm scenery. Pete conducted the farm tour and it was very informative and entertaining. Everyone enjoyed feeding the adorable lamb, sheep and alpacas. Gaye and Pete are such hospitable hosts and we would love to stay at their beautiful farm anytime.

We stayed in the main house and it was very clean and inviting. Our hosts were extremely nice and friendly. Breakfasts were included in the family dining room and we truly did end up feeling like family. We enjoyed hanging out with Pete on the farm and seeing the animals up close. We also took advantage of their shop with homemade wool sweaters while we were there.

We wanted to stay near Christchurch airport as our flight home would be the next evening. We changed our mind after a welcoming phone conversation.
We were greeted by the warm hosts and nice cottage. The adults had comfortable place to rest and relax. The kids had the blast touring the farm and playing outdoor.
Thank you so much Gaye and Pete! -

SingaporeA wonderful stay at the farm
Left on 12/01/2010 for a stay in November 2010
We spent two wonderful nights at the farm. Peter and Gaye were such great hosts!
We stayed in the cottage which was so well furnished and equipped. The kids all agreed that it was the best of all our stays in NZ.
Peter gave us a personal tour round the farm and even gave us a sheep shearing demonstration. My daughter fell in love with their lamb Sarah which they placed in the pen in front of the cottage. Hannah got to feed Sarah every morning and was so sad to have leave her when it was time to go.
Gaye's dinner was just great! Recommend that you take the dinner.
We would gladly go back to the Farmstay whenever we are back in Christchurch again. -

Singapore5 star farm stay
Left on 12/01/2010 for a stay in November 2010
After tiring driving trip around the South Island, we arrived at Pete's farm on a late afternoon and had lots of 'wow' experience. The cottage we stayed was so neat, clean, beautiful and quiet etc... all we needed to unwind and relax. Kids had great time feeding the lamb, playing with the sheep dogs and jumping on the trampoline. Sheep shearing was a very informative and interesting session both for adults and kids! Let me call this experience a '5 Star Farm stay'!

Pete's Farmstay is great. It was our first stop whilst holidaying in New Zealand and nothing else we stayed in came up to its standard. It was relaxing for the parents and fun for the children. You get the feel for rural New Zealand rather than being just another tourist. Our three children just had the freedom of being outside without having to be watched all the time. Of course the children treated the pets and animals with respect and were well rewarded with enjoying their company. Petes tour was really good and the children loved to see the sheep being shorn. Gayes cooking was fantastic. Our eldest child couldn't get enough of the deserts. We had the cottage and it was perfect. We used Petes Farmstay for a base for Christchurch, little bit more driving but it was really worth it. Pete and Gayes hospitality went way beyond expectations. If they could help, they would. I could not say anything that I least liked about Petes Farmstay.

We all enjoyed our stay at Pete Farm. Our 4 yo daughter is telling everyone how it was her favorite part of the holiday in NZ. Pete and Gaye are great hosts. Very friendly and welcoming. We stayed in the Cottage which is good for a family, particularly with young children.

Petes Farmstay is a must place to go and stay. Hosts Pete and Gaye treat you like family. Nothing is too much bother for them. Pete took us for a farm tour and showed us how to shear a sheep. Very up close and personal.
