Welcome to our home (15 minutes from the city) with panoramic views of the Southern Alps, city and water. We offer a spacious ground floor studio unit with queen bed , ensuite, kitchenette and living with TV, also an adjoining bedroom with twin beds. Own private entrance and laundry facilities available. We are within 10 minutes drive to Sumner or Brighton beaches and Lyttelton Harbour. Excellent cafes and restaurants are just over a kilometre away. A bus-stop is located 3 minutes walk down the hill.

We stayed for 3 very enjoyable weeks. Jane and Hugh made us feel very welcome - the beds were comfortable, a great location near the beaches and a shopping centre and the view was absolutely breath taking! We were very comfortable as a family of 3 and would return here on our next visit.

Lots of privacy, a warm place to come back to after a day's outing, no shortage of amenities and utensils, availability of free WiFi (most useful facility for us as we connect with our families and friends every night), quiet and safe location (no problem for us as we had our own transport. Yes we enjoy our week's stay very much.

Great location with awesome views of Christchurch and the Southern alps. It may appear to be remote but roadways allow access to anywhere in the city in a short time. Suite was clean and all amenities provided. We chose the self contained stay and kitchen was more than adequate for our purpose. Jane and Hugh were very friendly and helpful - even inviting us to share a meal with them! We would definitely stay here again.

This was a very comfortable studio with great views. Handy location to the local shops and bus routes into Christchurch. Fabulous walks to the local surrounding areas. Jane and Hugh were very hospitable and I would recommend highly.

Hugh and Jane are great hosts, they will certainly make you feel welcome when you stay at Hillcrest; great acommodation in a peaceful setting with all amenities with the added bonus of only being 15 minutes from central Christchurch.

Jane & Hughe (Hosts) are very welcoming. They make sure you have all you need to get yourself around Christchurch. They welcome you into their family enviroment and make you feel like you have moved from home to home. I had some emotional challenges while staying with Jane & Hugh and their support was awsome. Izzie their miniture schnauzer is a real character too. She welcomes you too in her own little doggy way. All in all I would highly recomend staying at HillCrest, the enviroment is amazing the views are awsome and the hosts are one in a million. I would gladly stay with Jane & Hugh again and again. My recomendation would be when your next planning a trip to Christchurch do yourself a favor and stay in the best location and B&B; around. HillCrest is definitely the place to stay for your NZ experience to start.

I arrived in Christchurch on my own and was looking for a friendly and comfortable base so I could spend some time sight seeing, I was not disappointed. Hugh and Jayne were so welcomng, you couldn't wish to meet a nicer couple and nothing was too much trouble. They gave me loads of advice on travelling around and gave me their own books which were a big help. They even invited me to have meals with them. The accommodation was spotless and roomy. A modernised bathroom with a huge shower, a fully equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. What more could you ask for? Shops, resturants and a large supermarket are near by but the best thing was the views. Set up on the hill side the scenery is magnificent! If you are looking for a clean, comfortable and very friendly place to stay look no further. At an extremely competitive price Hillcrest View offers fantastic value for money. Will definitely be visiting again
