Only 3 minutes from the airport is our Bed and Breakfast which is situated on a private back section with alot of trees and a lovely quite atmosphere.
In the summer we like you to feel free to come and join us on our deck and enjoy a swim in our pool on the hot days,
and on the cooler nights we have a nice hot spa tube for you to enjoy in our garden under our huge wlanut trees.
We are close to shops and restaurants (which we are happy to drop you off to and pick up after your meal) and bus services which is only a 5 minutes walk from here. If you feel you are tired after a long trip or would just love to eat in we are happy...Read more

We live in a quite neighborhood with a mini golf course and a golf driving range only a 5 minute walk from here and across the road from us is the Riccarton Race Course which we don't hear any noise from as we are up a long drive in a rare section, on Sunday mornings they have a market there.
We have off street parking and bus services a 5 minute walk from here.We are happy to do pick ups and drops offs at the airport and train station and we are also happy to do pick or drop offs at car rentals and campervan rentals.

I spent the most wonderful ten days with Fiona and Marcus, I was a lone traveller and they did everything they possibly could to make my stay a happy one. From the moment I arrived, to my final day there, I had nothing but positive experiences staying at the Steadman Retreat! I was lucky enough to spend an extended two weeks in Christchurch, beginning every day, and ending every evening in the friendly confines, where, I felt like I was part of the family! From my own personal expereinces, to other's whom I saw come and go during my stay, everyone was treated with the utmost respect. I would return without a moments hesitation, and likewise would recommend to anyone who is either passing though, or staying for a week or so. Gracious, caring, and genuinely kind, the hosts went out of their way to make me feel at home, even though I was thousands of miles across the Pacific to my actual home. Great and memorable experiences, and something I will not soon forget...

Great accommodation, very clean. Was very convenient to the airport , had a pick up by owner for free even in the middle of the night! Even though we only stayed one night would recommend for a longer stay too.

This family home has been set up to accommodate several Bed and Breakfast guests. It is a large attractive timber construction house with a lovely garden, a swimming pool and outdoor spa for warmer weather. Being located on a “battle axe” block off the street, behind other houses, means it is quiet. We booked 2 rooms for 3 nights, each with en-suite, to accommodate 2 couples. Finding accommodation in Christchurch was difficult at the time we stayed, due to the large influx of workers fixing earth quake damaged buildings. We found this place on Flip Key via Trip advisor and were pleasantly surprised. This place is a gem! Our hosts, Fiona and Marcus are exceptionally welcoming and made us comfortable from the first moment of our arrival. One evening they even took us for a drive to show us the damage caused by the earth quakes and to show us the lights of Christchurch from the top of the nearby mountains near Lyttleton – what a bonus. The rooms are large, with a small fridge and tea and coffee making supplies and the bed comfortable. The bathroom facilities are smallish but more than adequate. Wifi is available. The breakfast of cereal, fruit, yoghurt, breads, toast, tea, coffee and fruit juice was excellent. The location is within 5 mins drive from the airport and 15mins drive to the city opposite the Riccarton Race Course. An interesting and entertaining market is held there on Sunday morning which we walked to. Having a rental car to get around Christchurch is recommended. We would highly recommend this as a delightful experience to not only have a nice place to stay, but to also to meet some friendly and hospitable people, who can share their local knowledge and advice.

This was our first trip in NZ and we were looking for some cosy and affordable place to stay overnight in Christchurch. The hosts were fantastic in their hospitality: they picked us up from the airport (although our flight was late), gave us a lift several times to the shops and rental car park. Not to say they arranged a wonderful dinner, then breakfast and shared a lot of their local experience about various spots not to be missed in NZ. Regarding the room we felt ourselves as in a warm French wooden Chalet - with en-suite bath and massive bed. The quality of amenities was second to none and we still wonder why anyone would bother with formal motels/hotels when they could feel cared in such home environment! Thank you very much, dear Fiona and Marcus. We definitely looking forward to staying in your place next time when visiting your beautiful country!
