Ever since I stayed in I5 at Gentle Winds for the first time, I knew I had to go back. I've been to St Croix 10 times the last 11 years and I've always stayed in I5. There isn't any other condo in on the island, much less the whole Caribbean, with a better view. A picture is worth a thousand words, but no pictures can do the view justice. The condo is very spacious. It's perfect for a large family or multiple couples. Each bedroom has its own private bathroom and two of them face the sea. Staying in those bedrooms, I've often fallen asleep to the sound of waves crashing on the shore. The condo has air conditioning, but there is no need turn it on. With the windows open, the sea breeze is enough to keep the place comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and cookware if you don't feel like dining out. A grocery store is within driving distance of the resort. The first floor balcony is the ideal place for eating breakfast, reading a book, or enjoying the sunrise. However, the best part of the condo is the 2nd floor balcony. It's private and perfect for sunbathing during the day and stargazing at night. It's like a planetarium. More than once, I've witnessed shooting stars while looking up at the sky. Other amenities include wifi internet access, a washer/dryer, and a blu-ray player and flatscreen tv. Gentle Winds resort itself has everything a luxury beach resort should offer, including a golf course, tennis courts, a pool, a secluded lagoon, clubhouse, snorkeling, and spectacular views. The family owned and operated tiki bar by the pool is the perfect place to grab lunch or dinner or have a frosty drink while enjoying the private beach. For scuba divers, Cane Bay is only a few miles away and offers the best diving in the Caribbean. If you plan on visiting St Croix, make sure to stay at Gentle Winds, unit I5. There really isn't any other place you should consider.

This was my first trip to St. Croix, and I could not imagine a more perfect spot to spend my stay at. Words can't quite capture the view the balconies offer, neither can the hundreds of photos you will end up taking. The turquoise water, the cream beach, the crystal pool and swaying palm trees are a paradise come to life. This home is large and furnished enough to feel relaxed and satisfyingly comfortable yet small enough to indulge yourself in the simple life and living of the island. My four friends and myself found the kitchen well amended and loved the fully stocked towel supply. Whether you're looking for thrilling adventure, the friendly local nightlife, or a quite stay full of sun, this condo will provide the perfect home to come back to.

As soon as I stepped out of the airplane and onto the island, we were speechless. Then, as we stepped into the condo and out onto the main porch, our breath was taken away. And when we all walked out on to the beach, which was no joke- literally steps away- we thought we had died and gone to heaven.
Three words: location, location, location. There is no possible way a person would visit this place and hate it, god forbid think of it as a-run-of-the-mill, average, Caribbean vacation spot. Honestly, this home could not be in a better place. After exploring the island, I've come to the conclusion there is no "nook" like the one the condo is nestled in. It's close enough to the town, shopping, golfing, and marinas, but far enough away from the hustle and bustle to give me a sense of privacy and seclusion.
How are people able to write only three sentences, without selling this place short? My friends and I found the condo very clean, spacious, and well equipped to house us five adults, with room to spare. We stared in aw, looking over the 30 acres of paradise and private beach everyday from the 3 huge decks. The Tiki Bar had some pretty tasty grub, and the pool and Great Room offered relaxing breaks from the warm ocean and sun.
We want to go back. Now.

This was a trip of a lifetime with my girfriends. The beach and location of the condo was perfect. We could walk out and enjoy the day in a few steps. The other highlight was the bar at the beach. We could eat,drink and laugh with ease.

I stayed at this condo for a week in June 2010 and had one of my best vacations so far. This particular condo has one of the best views of the ocean, which happens to be just steps away. On your way out to the beach, you’ll pass by the pool and the beach shack where you’ll meet Karen who serves up the best food and drinks.
In the condo, there are three spacious bedrooms which each have their own bathroom. The condo comes stocked with towels/linens, a full kitchen and even a washer/dryer. This place truly has everything you need to be able to completely relax on your vacation. Don’t wait – reserve your week in paradise now! You won’t regret it…

My wife and I went down for our anniversary and we couldn't have picked a better place. The condo is in a fantastic community where you have your own private beach and pool and the best snack shack on Earth! Ms. Karen will take great care of you while you're soaking in the rays! (She makes a mean chili-cheeseburger and margarita!). One of our favorite aspects of this place is that you can lay in bed an listen to the ocean, wake up and walk outside on the deck and read a book or get a tan before breakfast.
I recommend renting a jeep, you can take the top down and enjoy all that St. Croix has to offer. Everything is close and there's a lot to see or not see if you choose to relax on the beach. If you like snorkling, give Capt. Heinz a call, he runs the best tours out to Buck Island. I had never been to an underwater national park before, it's amazing!
We can't wait to go back!

I really enjoyed staying at this condo. It overlooked the ocean and was right on the beach. There was a nice sized pool and tiki bar/grill so you could eat and drink on the beach or poolside. If you needed to grab something out of the condo it was only footsteps away! The condo was clean and comfortable and had a nice kitchen and a beautiful screened in porch so meals could be enjoyed overlooking the water. There was also a really nice flat screen tv in the living room - not that we had much time to watch tv though! I would definitely stay here again. It was like paradise.

Location, location, location...Close enough to enjoy town activities, and far enough away to feel like you are on your own private island, but with the perfect amount of amenities. Spectacular views of the ocean. The condo was clean, cozy and spacious. Loved the sound of waves crashing at night. I didn't want my vacation to end and I'd definitely stay here again. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for relaxation or fun or both!

We were so excited to have a condo right on the beach with breathtaking views of the entire coast. Nothing like hearing waves crashing while you sleep and to awaken to a view of the ocean. Lots of sleeping room. Several patios/balconies on which to sit and enjoy a relaxing time or to play games. Say hi to Karen who runs the little snack shack by the pool area - best food and drinks there with lots of local gossip to catch up on :) We were so spoiled to be able to hop back and forth between the pool and the ocean. Lots of activities to do nearby like kayaking, scuba diving, snorkeling, etc. Great restaurants and bars close to the condo. We had such an incredible time at the condo and in St. Croix - I want to go back again...Very soon ;)

This was my third stay at Gentle Winds condo I-5 and I can't wait to go back again next year! The island is absoultely beautiful and while there are many things to do-kayaking, hiking, going to great restaraunts, shopping, etc-you really don't have to leave Gentle Winds! This condo has the best views and is closest to the beach-you can hear the ocean waves and watch the sunset while having dinner on the patio! The Beach Shack (tiki bar) has the best burgers, drinks, and amazing service! The staff keep the grounds prestine and everyone is so friendly! The condo is kept really clean and there are plenty of towels, plus it has a washer and dryer so you dont have to over pack! We watched avatar on the nice new flat screen with the surround sound on, We also enjoyed all the World Cup matches!The condo offers a Blu Ray DVD player plus an MP3/Ipod connector so you can listen to your music. It was a phenominal trip and hard to leave! We highly recommend this condo-a home away from home! We can't wait for our trip in 2011 and hope to share this wonderful place with friends and family!

Beautiful setting, wonderful condo. Everything about it was well-done and low-key. Very easy to get to other sites on-island, but did not feel like we were in tourist central. Overall an amazingly relaxing and fun getaway.
