Located in the heart of Devon and retaining its’ traditional community spirit, Chulmleigh village is less than a mile away from Park Mill Farm and located between the national parks of Dartmoor and Exmoor.

The area provides access to an abundance of leisure activities including walking, cycling, fishing, golf and horse riding along with a number of historic houses and gardens in the vicinity. Due to its geographical location you are also within easy reach of the rugged Atlantic coastline and the more developed English Riviera on the south coast, with many places to explore and discover in between.

The village it...self, offering free parking and kids play park, welcomes visitors and provides all the amenities and facilities needed to enjoy your stay. Interestingly enough the whole of Chulmleigh town centre is now a conservation area and the rich grassland found here is home to the largest population of otters in any natural area in England. Chulmleigh Parish has also been identified as an Area of Rural Tranquillity along with being designated as an Area of Great Landscape Value.

A beautiful period barn conversion that has been sympathetically converted to provide a tasteful and unique holiday home. Riverside has retained many original features and has high quality furniture, kitchens and bathrooms that are in keeping with the age of the property.

Original beamed, vaulted ceilings with galleried features create a light, airy and spacious feeling whilst ‘wood burning’ stoves in each cottage also make them an appealing rural retreat for cosy winter breaks.

All cottages have natural slate flagstones throughout ground floors while the upper floors all have solid oak flooring. All doors and window frames are attractive solid timber and many windows have deep window seats and most look out over fields and farmlands.

Under floor heating and hot water is provided by a ‘ground source heat pump’, an eco friendly “green” system. Waste water is cleansed and disposed of through a special water treatment plant.

The Park Mill Farm cottages are situated in a magical riverside setting with 20 acres of lush fields, woods and parkland where you are free to roam along with the abundant wildlife.

There are two rivers (The Little Dart and The Huntacott) running through the property and a private fishing lake where guests can enjoy free fly and coarse fishing and catch Brown Trout, Sea Trout, Salmon and Carp!

Just a short drive, around 6 miles, from Park Mill Farm Cottages guests are invited to experience the range of luxurious facilities on offer at Highbullen Golf and Country Club.

For those of an active nature visitors can choose from:

• Pool and fitness suite– a choice of 3 pools, one indoor and two outdoor

Note: Riverside Cottage has a double connecting door opening into its neighbouring cottage, The Smithy, so that they may be booked together for larger groups. These doors will be securely locked if not requested.Read more

Additional notes from owner

A deposit of 1/3 of the total price is required to secure a property. The balance is due six weeks before arrival. For bookings arriving within 6 weeks, payment must be made in full by debit or credit card. Credit card payments will incur a 2.95% service charge. Only Saturday to Saturday bookings (or Friday – Friday where stated) are accepted in July and August. Short breaks (min. 3 nights) are accepted at other times of the year unless otherwise stated. A non-refundable booking fee is applicable to all bookings. All our properties are non-smoking, though smoking is permitted in outside areas. Pets are accepted for a small surcharge of £23.00 each.
