What Past Guests Are Saying
Great place, great location!
On a weekend away with friends, this made a wonderful weekend. Sitting in the lounge with a glass of mulled wine watching the sun set was one of my favorite memories. Such a lovely location and a beautiful home. The designer furniture is a great feature, I couldn't rate it more highly.
The lodge and it's surroundings are beautiful, it was fully equipped and we will certainly be returning at some point!
Beautiful lodge in a wonderful location - would stay again in a
I would highly recommend this lodge for any large families/groups of friends looking to stay in this area. The lodge represents great value and the accommodation is flexible to provide sleeping for up to 10. 9 of us stayed in the cottage for the weekend comfortably.
The lodge is set on a beautiful, peaceful lake with private access. The decked area and private jetty are great additions you don't always get with some of the lodges on other lakes in this area.
The lodge itself is furnished to a really high standard with most home comforts you can think of and more.
There's plenty to do in the area - we visited the Wild Duck Inn pub, the Cotswold Forest School and Spa6 at the Four Pillars Hotel (which Carly can get you discounted passes for).
Carly was really helpful throughout the process of booking. The only slight issue was a hiccup in collecting the key upon arrival due to the key safe being broken, but Carly sorted that quickly. I'd definitely recommend getting that fixed asap to ensure a smooth check in for future guests.
In summary, we loved our stay here (and would quite happily have moved in for good!). I would definitely stay in the lodge again and will be recommending it to friends and family.
Thanks for all your help Carly.
Beautiful setting, very comfortable break
A warm and friendly vibe welcomes you to Carly's lodge. A relaxing environment to spend time celebrating my dad's 70th with his grandchildren. Lots to do around the area too. We'd love to go back again in the summer to enjoy the veranda and bbq.
Perfect family get together
Just a quick note to say my family had a lovely time in your fabulous lodge this weekend. Even the weather didn't get us down, the view over the lake can lift anyone's spirit. A perfect setting for a long overdue family get together.
Beautiful place for a family stay
We're a group of friends and we stayed for a weekend with our kids aged 2-6. We had a great time. Although part of a development (there are neighbours) there is great privacy. The house is stunning, beautifully furnished and is airy and light. It was super easy to organise and Carly was contactable and quick to return emails. The kids loved the trout farm in Bibury which is a pretty 20 minute drive - if you are not squeamish then you can catch your own fish, gut and scale it and BBQ it on site! Butts farm nearby was great too and they actually milked a goat! Great place for a short break just 1.5 hours from W.London but a world away.

What a fabulous way to spend a weekend
As a group of friends it suited us perfectly - plenty of space, fantastic facilities and picture perfect location.
Huge thanks to Carly and family for sharing their lodge!
Lovely home in a beautiful setting
The house was lovely, very tastefully decorated and yet still sturdy enough for young families! My sons loved playing with all the toys, feeding the swans and making dens in the loft room. The area was beautiful and although it was a bit cold to try out all the watersports on offer we loved it so much we will definitely come back in the summer!
Carly was very helpful and replied to texts and emails really quickly. There was lots to do when the weather wasn't so great - we visited the soft play area and the zoo which were great fun for the kids.
If I had to suggest any improvements, then a 'corner shop' would be nice and maybe a coat of paint on the outside. But otherwise 'perfect'!
Response from Carly Madhvani - 04/23/2012
I am glad you had a good time.
I totally agree with your suggestions. I am currently having quotes for the outside painting work.
You're right... a closer corner shop would be useful. For the forgotten wine or milk I pop to the lakeside Brasserie, there is a Londis in the village (5 min drive) open til 8 and with Waitrose and Tesco's delivering I call upon their next or same day service. When it's raining though a little corner place a quick walking distance for the paper would be very welcomed!
I currently have 10 day slot left in the summer from July 23rd to August 3rd so if you're interested pop me a mail.
Thank you so much for staying. Best wishes, Carly :0)
Our party of 10 (6 adults plus 4 children) had a wonderful weekend to celebrate my husbands birthday. Booking was so simple. Carly was the perfect host handling our booking from start to finish ensuring it was a pleasurable and carefree experience.
The Lodge! what can I say? It was perfect in every way - comfortable and clean, well equipped and excellently furnished. It catered for our every need. The location was excellent too - tranquil setting with its own jetty that was perfect for fishing or just lazing in the sun. Ducks, Swans and Geese were regular visitors to the jetty. These along with fishing for crayfish entertained the children, and adults!. The option of more lively lakes, pub/restaurants and activities are within easy walking distance.
A fabulous place to stay.
Thank you Carly. We'll definitely be booking your wonderful lodge again in the future.

What a fabulous review.
Thank you so much for your appreciation Di! It's very encouraging to hear.
Best wishes, Carly :o)
We all thought this lodge was absolutely brilliant and had a fabulous weekend there! The furniture and decor is lovely...and the views over the lake so impressive!
There are walks and cycle hire nearby...and country pubs to stop off at on route!
It was all very easy to organise with the owner, and the website provides all the info on the lodge and area you could need!
Response from Carly Madhvani - 02/20/2012
Hi Helen and Jon. I am really pleased you enjoyed your birthday weekend at the lodge with your friends. I totally agree with your comments - just walking around and enjoying lunch in those oldy-wolrdy pubs is such a nice way to spend time.
I'm glad you like the interiors of the lodge, it all helps to relax and savour those holiday moments.
I hope to hear from you again, Best wishes Carly :0)
tranquil and stylish
We loved our stay here everything was bill. There was a few families with kids ranging from 11-14 and they all thought it was great too. Carly was bill gave us all the info we needed and helped in whatever we needed. The area is so peaceful and tranquil but with loads to keep the kids entertained. House is stunning with amazing furniture and brilliantly decoratred. Plenty of things within the house to keep them entertained too.
Response from Carly Madhvani - 01/04/2012
Wooo hooo! So glad you love my lodge too! I have many enquiries for 2012 new year - you had to right idea to book up early in 2011. You were a fab guest Becky - thanks for your help with the smoke alarm battery... I have replacements in the drawer now ;0)
keep well and hope to hear from you again... Best wishes, Carly
Fabulous; luxurious and peaceful...
We recently spent a weekend at this great lodge with three other couples. It was perfect! The lodge is fitted out to the highest possible standard and creates an environment which is well suited to both fun and relaxation.
Carly too is great - it's not often you find a 'bend-over-backward' attitude to hosting. I highly recommend a stay at this beautiful property.
Response from Carly Madhvani - 12/16/2011
Ahhhhh Michelle - it was such a pleasure having you as a guest. I am fortunate that I have the time to look after my lovely lodge renters, it's my job... but more than that... it's my passion.
Have a lovely Christmas and I look forward to welcoming you all again in 2012. Best wishes, Carly
Cosy waterside luxury
We received amazing service from Carly who was so helpful and made the booking with her easily.
The home is finished to a high standard and attention to make the place feel like a home was not unnoticed.
The location is relaxing and a wonderful place for a romatic getaway or with family and friends.
I will definately come back another time.
To celebrate my 30th birthday we decided to have a child free, husband free chilled weekend in the Cotswolds. 10 The Landings did everything we had hoped for and more.
Gorgeous surroundings, luxuriously cosy and comfy, lots of space and everything on hand to make our stay relaxing.
Have agreed with the family that we will definately be returning with or without the kids!
Thank you Carly we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, your hospitality was fantastic and made the whole experience lovely and easy :-)
Response from Carly Madhvani - 12/06/2011

Response from Carly Madhvani - 11/29/2011
Thank you Ed! I try!
It was great you had 10 guests in the lodge and had such an enjoyable time.
I have a 10% discount offer running for the next 10 days on bookings for 2012 if you have a date in mind.
Best wishes to you and your friends.
Perfect Weekend away.
A wonderfull stay. Excellent location, beautiful house and the decor was out of this world. We will be back again, hopefully in the summer when I'd imagine the place will be even better!
Its all about the location.
The location of the lodge is perfect. The lodge is directly on the water of the Landings Lake of the Cotswolds Water Park, with its own jetty extending into the lake. However it is perfectly safe as the Jetty is only accessible through a lockable gate.
The Lodge has 2 double bedrooms with ensuites (one with a small bath) on the 2nd floor and a bunkbed room - with the secret den leading to the top of the lodge. This den room could have great potential if it had a tv or games in it, which could then be a separate entertaining area. There is a 4th bedroom with a single bed (which extends to a double) next to the family shower room on the ground floor. All the bedding is comfortable and the rooms large and welcoming.
The rear of the house is open plan with kitchen & dining room looking over the large living room, which in turn overlooks the large glass windows & french doors giving perfect views over the lake. The dining room features a large designer table with enough seating for 8. The living room has an L shaped sofa - which i think would struggle to seat 8 adults comfortably - but was more than adequate for the 5 of us. The living room houses the tv with Sky, dvd player, wii & PS3. This is the only TV in the house and if you have a house full of mix of kids and adults I can imagine tensions running high by the end of the week.
When we arrived the heating had been set to warm the house for us & the owner, Carly, had left a tray of coffees, milks etc so we could have a quick cuppa before going to Tesco's in nearby Cirencester - some 4.5 miles away. There is a local shop & 3 pubs in nearby South Cerney. We ate at the Eliott arms on 3 occasions and the food was reasonable in both quality & price.
We ranged from a 7 year old to a 70 year old & we all enjoyed the lodge & would recommend it as a retreat by the lake. I would imagine that during the summer months the outside space would appeal to the majority.
Response from Carly Madhvani - 11/02/2011
HI Nikii, thank you for this very informative review. Your right - there should/could be anoterh TV in the lodge and the den is the perfect place for it. I intend to install one in November.
I am glad everyone had a good time during your 8 night stay. I welcome you all again.
best wishes, Carly
Very relaxing and comfortable stay, great location
Spent a weekend in the house with a group of friends. It was a great location for us all - fantastic views and lots of space to sit around eating, drinking and chatting.
It was good value when split amongst us all and there was plenty of space for a large group.
Response from Carly Madhvani - 09/20/2011
HI, So glad you all had a great time. It's perfect for weekends such as those (I could sit around and watch the view doing so much eating, drinking and chatting... bliss!)
Amazing Cotswold Lakeside accomodation
Let me start by saying that the cotswold lodge is an amazing place to stay if you are planning to take a trip to the Cotswolds then i would highly recommend this place. I stayed with a group of friends 6 adults and 3 kids aged 3 and under. The owner has put a lot thought into the design of the lodge which gives it the luxery 5* and home like feel. If you are travelling with kids then the lodge has been equiped with all the necessities you can think of which is an added bonus. The location is perfect to all the nearby attractions and places to visit. What made the trip extra special was the personal service received by the owner of the Lodge which made our stay at the Lodge very comfortable and perfect.
Response from Carly Madhvani - 09/20/2011
Thank you for your kind words, I really appreciate it.
I look forward to welcoming you again.
Best wishes. Carly

I just wanted to say thank you for a lovely stay at you fantastic lodge for my hen do it was exactly what i wanted. We all had a great time enjoying the view from the lounge with a pimms in our hand. Really lovely home you have and thank you again for everything you did.
Response from Carly Madhvani - 09/06/2011
My pleasure, what a lovely group of girls you have. Have a fantastic wedding. Best wishes, Carly
Great place to stay in the sunshine!
Enjoyed our stay, plenty of things to do in the sunshine, but we didn't get much of it! Beautiful views, great place to sit and enjoy the sunshine with a glass of wine. Lovely for older children.
Beautiful interior topped by a gorgeous setting!
As designers we really appreciated the design and attention to detail in this lovely home and how it sits so beautifully in the gorgeous setting of the lakeside development.
For those who love the outdoors the facilities available make it a great get away for the weekend. Tennis, running & bike trails and water sports, but also a lovely terrace to rest your weary bones upon.

Hotel luxury but with home comforts
We (6 adults and two toddlers) all enjoyed our time at No. 10 The Landings despite the changeable weather..
No problems were encountered from start to finish of booking process.
The luxury accommodation was as per the photos on website. No one had a negative comment to make about the accommodation and after holidaying from Monday to Friday everyone went home rested and refreshed.
Hope to be able to go back next year when we can organise another family get together.
Comment by two and half year old on way home to London. "I want to go back to the holiday home" so even he was impressed!!
Response from Carly Madhvani - 07/18/2011
Wow Sylvia, that's some review. I really appreicate your comments, especially your son's... my children feel the same.
I wish you well and hope you do return to my lodge.
Best wishes, Carly
Cool hangout in stunning location!
My extended family and I have just had 4 days at the lakeside lodge. The lodge itself is amazing with its fabulous design, open plan living spaces and cool furniture. Everything you need is there, it's fully equipped. The outside decking area is fab for chilling out and watching life on the water.
You need a car to access all the area has to offer.
I would recommend to familes or also to groups of friends / couples. Perfect for indoor or al fresco entertaining!
Response from Carly Madhvani - 06/30/2011
That's great to hear Tracey. Thank you for coming and enjoying my lodge - you were great guest. Best wishes and I hope to hear from you again. Carly.
June 11 break
We all had a very enjoyable weekend break in the lodge. Facilities and location were perfect and we were welcomed warmly by Carly
A stunning lodge in a stunning location!
My family stayed over the bank holiday weekend and couldn't have been more relaxed. Despite the awful weather, we have a great weekend sailing, swimming, biking and taking part in the local duck race in the nearby village!
We were able to enjoy ourselves greatly in the lodge, especially the children who entertained themselves for hours in the loft den. The view was spectacular and we spent many a moment just starring at the lake. The lodge provided us with all we needed and therefore the weekend became very stree free. I would highly recommend this lodge to a family, couple or anyone wishing for a peaceful location but with many fun and exciting amenities close by.
Response from Carly Madhvani - 06/03/2011
We are very glad that you enjoyed it just as we do. Please come again! Best wishes to you and the family. Carly and the gang.
Mums break away
A fantastic weekend away for a group of deserved mums. Absolutely stunning property and setting. Even though we were quite a large group the cleverly designed zoned interior offered lots of space and areas to relax. We could unwind on the a fabulous decked outside space taking in the beautiful views of the lake, or lounge inside taking advantage of the lovely furniture, wii and TV/music system. The area offered lots to do, lovely walks to fantastic pubs, the vintage tea rooms; and lakeside brasserie which is extremely close which had a really nice atmosphere and great 'pub' type food, perfect for a group! Even though the lodge catered perfect for our weekend, I am confident that we will be back with our families in the near future as it is fully equipped for children too!
Response from Carly Madhvani - 05/22/2011
Thank you for your brilliant review Hayley, it's great to hear. The lodge was immaculate when you left! More "mum's" bookings please! Chat again soon I hope. Best wishes, Carly
High spec waterfront house perfect for weekend with friends
Lovely open plan living space with kitchen and dining area overlooking lounge, so you can all keep chatting whilst cooking. Plenty of space for the 8 of us who went away.
Right on the water. Didn't explore surrounding area that much, but spa is good option for wet weather.
Response from Carly Madhvani - 05/11/2011
Thanks for your booking Anna... you're great guests. All my best, Carly
Fantastic relaxing stay in beautiful lakeside chalet
The house was beautiful and fully equipped with everything we should need. Very nice attention to detail, furnished to a high standard. Location was great right by the lake, shame the weather wasn't nice enough for us to use the huge BBQ!
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
Response from Carly Madhvani - 05/11/2011
Thanks for your kind words Elizabeth... the BBQ will have to wait until next time!! Best wishes to you and the girls.
A stylish lakeside retreat
Just back from a relaxing break at 10 The Landings. The property was more spacious than I expected, and a pleasure to stay in. There was everything I needed and more; an amazing location; and the contemporary furniture all added up to a great getaway. Very safe and perfect for small children, but with internet and Wii to keep the older ones occupied, too. We'll be back!
Fabulous Cotswold Retreat!
Just returned from a fabulous 4 day break at 10 The Landings.
We came upon the website by chance and thought it looked amazing, and was thrilled to find it was even more amazing in real life!
The view was absolutely stunning, we loved spending the days playing with our little boy on the decking area whilst watching all the swans and ducks swim past. We even ventured out onto the jetty to try and catch some fish with the nets provided. And when he went to bed, we wrapped up and enjoyed a glass of wine whilst watching the sunset - absolute bliss.
Inside the lodge is beautifully equipped. Everything is done to the highest specification, from the small details to the gorgeous Knoll chairs and amazing sound system there has been no expense spared.
The lodge is amazingly equipped for babies. There was a steriliser, blender, travel cot etc. In fact our little boy slept from 7-7:30 every day, something we have been trying to get him to do for months at home!
The owner Carly was so accommodating and helpful, an absolute pleasure to deal with. Cant wait to return in the summer when we can make the most of the BBQ!
Response from Carly Madhvani - 04/07/2011
So glad you had such a lovely time. Your son slept all night - woo hoo! That's brilliant. Look forward to your return Kate. All my best. Carly
Burton upon Trent
Lakeside retreat, excellent base for group holiday in cotwsolds
We were looking for a 4 - 5 bedroom holiday cottage for a belated Christmas gathering with 2 other families, and found 10 The Landings. 10 The Landings was head and shoulders above all the other options we found, and offered stays from 2 nights (all other large houses were min 1 week).
It's unusual because it's built in a New England style white clapboardand. But is warm (double glazed and central heating) modern and is luxuriously and thoughtfully furnished, like a genuine home from home (much over used description but genuinely earned here). The lodge is set on a small development (40 lodges) on Cotswolds Lakes. To give an idea the adjoining lodge was for sale at ?525,000 - this is an gorgeous holiday lodge on a relatively exclusive development.
It has the most comfortable beds, great lounge to relax and enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sun go down over the lake. Would love to visit in summer and enjoy a BBQ on the decking which directly backs on to the lage and pontoon. The lake has sailing and canoeing on and can be accessed from the property.
There are great walks and exporing to be had around neighbouring lakes and waterways, and on the door step of the Cotswolds (I grew up round here so am naturally bias - but a great part of the country to explore). We got our food delivered by home delivery when we arrived there are two large fridges and freezers and the kitchen has dishwasher and oven / microwave and even a small table and chairs and some toys for kids. Take bikes if you can lots to expore.
Without hesitation I would recommend 10 The Landings, it is unlike many other holiday accommodations available and is furnished to an unbelievably high standard (enjoy sitting on the Ercol Barcelona chair (?4,500!) and foot stall a mere (?2,500) wathcing the sun go down).
Go on - book it - the scores of reviews on tripadvisor (all positve) cannot be wrong, you'll have a great time.
Fantastic Holiday Lodge near South Cerney
We stayed at No. 10 The Landings, Watermark, in South Cerney near Cirencester for a long weekend in March 2011.
The accomodation was stunning, the location fantastic and had everything you need for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Really comfortable, and plenty to see and do in the immediate and surrounding areas.

Stunning lodge by the the late
Stayed at this beautiful lodge for two romantic nights with my husband in February. The property is stunning with lots of space in every room. With waitrose and tesco only a short drive away we were able to spend our evenings next to the fire with great wine and food looking out at the tranquil and picturesque view. I highly recommend this property to couples and families. We can not wait to take our children there and enjoy the country life. 10/10
Photos don't do it justice!!!
We are a group of couples - age range of 25-32, we stayed here for New Year (Dec 2010 - Jan 2011).
The lodge is wonderful, lovely design, clean, modern and new - I am always worried when I travel somewhere that the photos might be misleading but they don't do the place justice! The living area is far bigger than it looks on the website and accommodates 8 nicely.
It is based right next to the lake and you have neighbours but you don't feel overlooked as there are only lodges on one side of the lake so you can't see any the other side and lodges are staggered to ensure privacy.
Surrounding area seems ok - we didn't go to the complex or pool etc., however one day we walked to South Cerney village to the pub - about a 15 min walk. To be honest we didn't explore as we were perfectly happy in the lodge!
I would definitely recommend the lodge, I can imagine it would be very good in the summer as well given the outside decking.
Just what the doctor ordered!
I stayed for a long weekend with a few friends and this is one of the nicest weekend breaks I have had in a long while.
The house and furnishings were fantastic. Everything we needed was there and the view across the lake from the living room was magnificent. In fact, we loved it so much, we found it very difficult to leave!
Absolutely fantastic weekend
The house gave me a feeling of space and the stresses of everyday life soon left my head and disappeared over the beautiful lake to which I had become accustomed to viewing through the glass double doors.
All the facilities were top notch and I would definately go back next year.
Family Christmas vacation
Initial contact and follow up with Carly was very friendly and very helpful in ensuring everything was in place for an extended family christmas vacation and celebrations. It was also helpful being able to contact her during the stay to clarify things around the house.
Arrival and picking up the keys from security was very simple and there was plenty of parking spaces outside the house to use.
Inside everything is as described. Very high standard of fittings and large enough space for 7 adults and 3 children to sit, play, cook and eat without getting under each others feet and plenty of space for people to go and find quiet time if they wished. And this without being able to use the decking due to the snow and cold weather!!!
There were also a number of helpful books and instructions on how to use everything in the house.
The surrounding area is lovely for either riding or walking and exploring the various bridal ways and walks and the view from the lounge overlooking the lakes is very pretty.
All in all this was a much better than expected holiday and the lodge made a large contribution to that, and everyone has already started talking about repeating the experience again next year!!!
We (4 adults, 4 kids) stayed for 3 nights and had a great time. Everything we possibly needed was provided. The decor of the house was lovely and all in all we had a very relaxing and fun time. Location was also good. Definitely recommend it.
A lovely place to stay
We stayed in the lodge with our wider families to celebrate my Dad's 60th Birthday. It was a perfect place to stay and i would recomend it to anyone.
Superb design, perfect location
A luxurious holiday home, well proportioned, beautifully furnished and placed in picturesque surroundings. Enjoyed the tennis, boating on the lake and a lovely run around the surrounding area. An evening out in Cheltenham was also a blast!
The accommodation is fantastic. Apart from the amazing view of the lake it is clean, comfortable and very well equipped with wonderful furniture.
Finally, the location of the lodge couldn't have been better. Nearby are some great facilities like the spa, gym and beautiful picturesque village.
Luxurious house in a stunning setting
This is a great house to stay in. Sadly we were only there for the weekend but would've loved to stay longer. The house has everything you could possibly need and some very stylish furniture. Its set right on a lake so you can walk straight out of the door and dive in. Lots of activities going on in the surrounding areas if you want that or you can just chill at the house. Hope to go again!
2 family stay
We loved our time at The Landings. The downstairs is very open and so 2 families comfortably cooked, ate and played together. Was great to be in the same area as the kids.
The view of the lake is lovely - we brought an inflatable canoe and so got out on the lake a few times which is so easy from the jetty. We enjoyed hopping on the bikes and going for cycle rides around the area and over to the brasserie (known as the 'nuts cafe' by our kids).
Upstairs was a little cramped at times. The main bedroom is lovely and very spacious but the bunk and second double is a little cosy, especially with 4 children trying to have a bath and get dressed!
There is a den on the top floor which we actually didn't use as the steps were far too dangerous for toddler/pre-school age children so we roped it off and the kids quickly forgot about it!
It's a lovely pad and we had a brilliant time. Would love to come back in the summer to really enjoy the lakeside decking and BBQ.
Beautiful surroundings, stunning accomodation
The whole family were really pleased with the booking. Everything about the lodge was outstanding and the surroundings picturesque. The lodge was perfect, all features, furniture, decoration and welcome pack was very well thought through and detailed. And there's lots to see and do, we only wish we had a longer stay.
We have already thought about re-booking!
Private, professional and practical
I stayed at the property with some business colleagues. It was an excellent experience - lots of work done, alongside quality physical activities, luxury facilities and a calm and peaceful environment in which to relax and regenerate... highly recommended!!
England at its very best
Quintessential English lake-side setting, with the most stunning surrounding countryside and beautiful visitor attractions for children and adults close-by made perfectly wonderful by the on-site availability of fabulous water-activities for all to enjoy.
What a magical, relaxing and beautiful place!
We had a wonderful weekend here, the house is stunning! Everything was well thought out with easy to follow information on how to work all the Tv's etc. Great facilities, easy access to all the local sites and walking distance to a great gastro pub, which meant we could eat well and drink. I will be returning here again with the children next spring.
