This charming villa is located in the heart of Puglia in the Itria valley, also known as the Valley of Trulli. Surrounded by olive groves and vineyards Cisternino in the heart of Apulia, on a hill in the "Murgia dei Trulli". Of particular interest is the historic old town, with magnificent architecture of white houses and steep outside stairs, narrow alleys, arches and bridges, and small courtyards - partly built in oriental style (certificates of the Saracens). For good reason, therefore, the place was also awarded one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. The church "Chiesa San Nicola", the main church was built on an ancient church of the Basilian monks, and inside you'll find the Madonna del Cardellino. The heart of the town of Piazza Vittorio Emanuele is the famous clock tower, held here in summer, many small concerts and events. Belvedere, the viewing point just outside the old town, offers a panoramic view over the valley with the characteristic trulli - small round farmhouse with the typical cone-shaped roofs.
Cisternino is a mecca for gourmets, for here is to offer many restaurants, the culinary delights. Highly recommended are various including the many entrees. Of course this is a delicious wine, because wine puglisieschen Cisternino is on the road. Who likes it a little more rustic, however, goes to a typical location of "Fornelli," where the meat is grilled and served directly from the butcher with small side dishes and local wine.
The landscape around Cisternino, Valle d `Itria (Itria Valley) enchants with its play of color, especially in the time of the olive and almond blossom, but also by the ever shimmering silvery green olive groves and the green oaks and pine forests. The whole valley is surrounded here by the typical dry stone walls that wind around the numerous trulli. Ideally, the narrow streets to explore this area by bike.
The azure sea with its crystal clear water is only 20 minutes drive from Cisternino, and offers a magnificent mile-long coast of Torre Canne, one of the oldest and most beautiful spas, according to Marina di Ostuni. Whereby wide sandy beaches, interspersed with small reefs and sand dunes.

This villa is the best we have ever rented. Perfectly situated for peace, quiet and privacy it is still only 5 minutes away from the local supermarket and a wide range of restaurants in Cisternino or Locorotondo. The pool is superb and the kindness of the owners makes this villa a very special holiday rental. This is our second time here and it certainly won't be the last

we were in June this year in the holiday home villa Raggio di Sole. the house is really nice, and comfortable furnished. our children have particularly liked the pool and outside area. There they had a lot of space to play. The next village, Cisternino, is near by, but you need a car in place. We would like to come back home and can only recommend this holiday house

I booked based purely on friends' recommendations (they had been there three years running) and was not disappointed. The owners (Guiseppe & Leena) are lovely and keep the property and grounds immaculate. The villa is clean and cool with comfortable beds, two bathrooms (1 with a full-sized bath)and a well-equipped kitchen. Two couples each had a room and we put the three children in the middle room. There was plenty of room to run around, inside and out. My parents stayed in the "Independance", a small but well-equipped place 20 yards away from the main villa. There is a further area down a slope that has sleeping quarters as well as a huge dining area / kitchen. There are two family eating areas outside, both covered to provide shade / shelter and enough chairs for at least 10 people. The pool is gorgeous, clean, with lots of sun loungers and umbrellas. The whole area is clean, safe & secure (with a lockable gate). It's close (but not really walkable) to a decent supermarket and 5 mins from Cisternino town. There is a brick BBQ by the covered eating area (up the steps from the pool) and Guiseppe leaves plenty of wood (coal is available from supermarket). Would recommend taking mozzie spray / bite cream etc as the mozzies were vicious! The only difficulty we had was finding the travel agents in Cisternino (they escort you to the villa and show you around), but Roberto speaks excellent English (should you not speak Italian) and was more than helpful. I would definately recommend this villa for friends or family, it's one of the loveliest places I've ever stayed!

We spent 14 days with 3 couples (and an infant) in this beautifully located villa with annex in apulia. Villa, annex, and garden area were immaculate, the owners Leena & Guiseppe were lovely and eager to help, and the pool was a blast. We spent 2 amazing weeks barbecuing, swimming, and relaxing at this spacious residence which made a great home base for exploring the picturesque surrounding villages. We will definitely return.
