Left on 04/15/2013 for a stay in April 2013
First the positives: Friendly management, parking availability, clean & neat room, directly across from beach, clean/well kept pool, basic continental breakfast, comfortable bed, and I loved Clearwater Beach area & location to fun things(I am not a Florida fan).
Next I must say I should have researched the motel (not a condo) and area better - my fault
I was expecting a "condo" unit for extended stay(like someone's home) - room was converted motel room with maybe a closet removed and tiny kitchen area added. No amenities for real cooking, so we bought an electric skillet to cook with however utensils were lacking. Sink was too small. There was only one washer & dryer for the whole motel(we did our laundry elsewhere)I didn't need daily maid service or want it.
Now the negatives: Noise! The ice maker outside the room sounded like gunshots going off all night, partying by other drunken rowdy guests in the middle of the night, garbage pick up under the window in the morning, very unsound proof room. Beach access available all along beach and the beach where we were located across from was super crowded (so we walked 2-3 miles up the beach). WiFi horrible connection X2 (continually was a pain to get on with my computer)! Could never get my android phone to connect(it was easier to walk up to Crabby Bill's and get online)
I would recommend this room for short stay only if you can sleep through anything (Hey I raised 5 kids)and like a beach with tons of people. Maybe for young couple with one or two small children.Response from Jim and Tri Morocco - 04/18/2013
Owner
Thank you for the positive comments about our unit, the complex, the resort staff and our proximity to all that beautiful Clearwater Beach has to offer. We’re sorry that we couldn’t meet all your requirements but we truly want our guests to have a great time, at a reasonable price, with no hidden costs or surprises. Through this site and our inquiry responses we try to provide prospective guests with a detailed accurate depiction of our unit and the complex. In all honesty, for the money and then some, there isn't a nicer or more convenient place on the beach. As a condo-hotel, our normal guest stays about 6-10 nights and they expect the resort services provided. In addition, although we do have long term guests, they aren’t concerned about having a full kitchen as none of the units at the Pelican Pointe have stoves or ovens, only microwaves. True residential rental condominiums by city/condominium code require longer guest stays, are farther from the tourist activities, cost more and have additional fees. In terms of stay timing, for guests looking for a more peaceful and relaxing experience we recommend you consider staying from Labor Day until mid-February. Our peak season is from mid-February through late April and geared towards those who don't mind more people, more activities and more excitement. May through September is for those who fall somewhere in between. As you noted, all the activities on the beach are within walking distance. Our complex is in the BeachWalk District. Island Estates, the home of the Clearwater Marine Aquarium and Winter the Dolphin, is a little over a mile away, and Sand Key is less than a mile South of us. The mainland or Downtown Clearwater is a short drive over the causeway/bridge. There is a low cost trolley (the trolley stop is near the resort) and complimentary shuttle service for those who would rather not walk.

St. Louis, MOWe had an amazing stay!
Left on 04/04/2013 for a stay in March 2013
Everything about the room surpassed our expectations! It comfortably fit 4 girls and we could all fit in the king sized bed! We put to use everything in the kitchen; microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, cups, plates, silverware, etc. It was also extremely clean, as well. The only thing I would recommend that we would have liked is a full length mirror outside of the bathroom. The staff was very nice and helpful, as well. Whether we needed our picture taken or advice on what to do on a cold day, they took care of us. The complimentary breakfast was good. There was a wide variety of pastries and granola bars we enjoyed. The pool was great! We went the last week of March and it was unfortunately pretty chilly most of the week so we enjoyed the heated pool. The building blocked the wind from the pool deck so it warmed up enough to lay out. We loved the location! It is located within walking distance of anything you could possibly want to do at Clearwater Beach. And if we ever found something over a mile away, we used Florida Free Rides for transportation along the beach. Overall, we had a great stay!

St. Louis, MoWonderful!! :)

From arrival to departure- this was a wonderful stay!
First, I would like to thank the owner! He was very nice to talk to on the telephone when booking the room.
I arrived at Pelican Pointe with my girl friends for Spring Break and check-in was very easy. Staff was very friendly and offered great advice on places to go and see.
The room was perfect! It was a studio layout, which was very cute! It was very well-kept and clean! There were four of us girls so the king-sized bed and futon were plenty! Very comfortable bed, the futon not so much but it was still nice and served the purpose. Having a little kitchenette was nice to keep things in the refrigerator and cook small things in the microwave.
We could tell the owner of this property takes great care for the room!
It was nice to have danishes and OJ/apple juice served in the morning so we never paid for breakfast.
The pool was nice and clean. It was perfect to go to the pool when the beach was a bit windy.
The luxury of having the beach right across the street was amazing!
Also, everything is walking distance! Shops, gas station, restaurants and bars!
This was truly a wonderful stay and I would definitely recommend a friend to stay here. And I would definitely stay here again!! :)

Pelican pointe is a very affordable and nice place to stay. It would have been nice if the staff told us they were going to bring a dog to the room to check for bed bugs. Luckily none were found. Other then that I enjoyed the place

Owner
Thank you for your review. The Pelican Pointe resort is in the Beach Walk district so all the beach activities and points of interest are all within walking distance. As for your meeting "Hunter" the dog, he is just one of the proactive steps our complex takes every month to ensure that our guests have a problem free stay. Moreover, the bedding has specially designed covers to prevent bed bug infestations. The resort has been recognized for this practice and we are very happy to report that our units have NEVER had a bed bug issue. :0)

I want to start off by saying thank you to JIM morocco , for the Curtisy when I called to reserve the room. When we arrived at the pelican point in Clearwater , the Check-in was easy , and Curtious . The room was nice, with it being a studio, I was very pleased. The room was clean, and the bed was quite comfortable, the futon, not so much, but it served the purpose. Overall the room was awesome !!! The pool was nice and clean. Parking was a little tight, but... Location is nice, across the street from main beach, and the Resturant next door has good food. Especially the pizza. I would highly recommend for anyone who is looking for beach action at Clearwater beach, to stay here. In fact, we would like to stay here again next year, when we return. Thank you once again.

Thank you for a wonderful 2 days spent at your condo. It was very relaxing being able to park our vehicle and just walk to the beaches and restuarants. We look forward to doing this again for a longer stay. The service desk was very helpful with anything we asked.

We were very pleased with the accomadations, the room was very clean and had everything we needed. The only suggestion would be to have a chair to sit in if watching television. This was a good value and so close to the beach.

The only thing I would change is that I would get a condo with some kind of balcony or view, this one has no way to sit outside enjoy views even if it is city views.
Response from Jim and Tri Morocco - 08/18/2011
Owner
This is an interior unit that does have views of the city but does not have dedicated outdoor seating area. However, guests can use the common seating areas on the property and still enjoy the great views. Our other unit listed on FlipKey does have an outdoor seating area but costs a little bit more per night.

Beecher, IllinoisGreat Location & Awesome Deal!
Left on 06/21/2011 for a stay in June 2011
We rented this room for 3 nights in June. We were really excited when we saw how updated and clean the room was. The decor in the room is very up to date and stylish. The check-in process was easy and the staff is very nice and helpful. We arrived early and the staff allowed us to check in a few hours early. The location of the Hotel is amazing! it is so much closer to the beach than other hotels in the area that go for double the cost. The hotel offers a small breakfast with juices, coffee and danishes. You are in walking distance to many so many resturants and shops. Parking was not an issue, and its free! Most hotels in the area charge up to $20 a day for their guests to park. We had issues at times finding chairs in the pool area. It was a vey busy time of the year and at times it could get loud. We also were somewhat dissapointed that this room was so far back in the corner that it does not have a balcony. The room does come with 4 beach chairs for your use, which is great. The mini- kitchen was great. You couldn't do any major cooking but it was good to have a sink and dishes available. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here. The booking process, the check-in process and check-out process were all easy. Any issues that we had, staff took care of them immediatly for us. We really enjoyed our stay, and would recommend it to anyone!
Response from Jim and Tri Morocco - 06/22/2011

Thank you for the great feedback. We truly value guest input. This unit doesn't have a dedicated balcony/seating area but guests can use the common areas at the resort to enjoy the spectacular views. Our other unit listed on FlipKey does cost a little more per night but does have a seating area outside the unit with views of the Gulf and Sand Key.

Left on 06/14/2011 for a stay in June 2011
The value was great! The room is not fancy but clean and cozy, with all the basic amenities needed. Little extras such as beach chairs and ice machine/launry available. The Staff is willing to provide good and friendly service. Located very close to Pier 60, across to beach, close to gas pumps, eating, and other shops. Con: futon bed is stiff and the floors need cleaning into corners. Otherwise clean, freshly painted and well appointed. Would come again. Thanks staff at Pelican Pointe.

This studio is brand new!! All new furnishings and very clean, just wonderful place for the price. You get everything exactly as promised. The beach chairs were there as promised so we did not need to rent them, and they save you about $20 a day. We enjoyed our vacation and the price was just perfect. The customer service is better than some of the five star places I've stayed at. Everyone is just wonderful and very helpful. They truly go above and beyond to help you out, no matter when. The owner was prompt, honest and wonderful to work with. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family. I am truly impressed with everything at Pelican Pointe. My 2 week vacation was everything and more!
