      Perfect location, charming cottages

Left on 04/13/2013 for a stay in April 2013

We stayed in the Grandview and then the Lemon Cottage during our 4 night stay and we absolutely loved them both. The kitchens were clean with all the utensils, pots, plates and kitchen stuff you need to cook. We found both cottages to be fairly spacious for a 1 bedroom and the location is unbeatable. The beach isn't even a minute walk and the restaurants and shops are barely a 10 minute walk. As said in other reviews this isn't a 5 star resort but for the right fit this is a perfect vacation.

      Great Location - Great Time!

Left on 03/15/2013 for a stay in February 2013

Spent a week at the Grandview cottage in Feb. 2013, & had a great time. The bed was comfortable & the cottage had everything we needed for our week stay. The weather was great, so we spent more time at the beach than in the cottage but it's convenient location to the beach allowed us to go back quickly for snacks, drinks, etc. so you don't have to bring everything with you to the beach.

I completely disconnect from technology when I'm on vacation, so I don't know if they had wifi & I really don't care because i'm not there for the wifi, I'm there to relax at the beach. If you need the latest & greatest technology then go stay at a hotel, & leave the cottages for those of us who prefer a laid-back vacation.

All Clearwater Cottages are just steps to the beach & within walking distance of all the stores & restaurants at Clearwater Beach. It was ideal for us & we'll definitely be back!

Nice way to start the year.

Left on 01/10/2013 for a stay in December 2012

This is a piece of old Florida that probably won't last forever. There are fancy condos and stately beach houses all around if that's what you want. On the other hand, this little bungalow met our needs just fine. We went to Clearwater for the new year and were surprised to find a bowl game crowd. There was plenty to do and a very festive atmosphere. Clearwater has done a great job with its beach area. This cottage is steps from the beach, and we walked to bars, restaurants and the pier. The Dolphin cottage had everything we needed - kitchen utensils, towels, beach chairs and much more. Capt al was around and eager to help.

You know those MasterCard commercials that end with Priceless? The cottages are nothing short of priceless. My son and I stayed in the Grandview and we toured the Hideaway. You will find tile floors, full kitchens, comfortable beds, gas grills and plenty of hospitality. Alan the owner is a gracious host. This is not a luxury hotel it is a home away from home that is steps away from the pristine Clearwater Beaches. Everything here at Clearwater is a short walk away anything you could desire, cold beer, shopping salon to highlight your do and great resturants. I highly recommend a stay here if you want a comfortable family place to spread out and bring your dogs they are pet friendly.

Just what the doctor ordered. A day at the beach with perfect weather and the cottage was less than a wedge away. The cottage had everything we needed and was only a few steps from the beach.

Everyone was very courteous and helpful and I would highly recommend. We'll be back when we need another break from the hustle and bustle of work.

      Very disappointed with the cottage.

Left on 06/13/2012 for a stay in March 2012

The cottage was filthy when we arrived, so needless to say we spent the beginning of our beach vacation cleaning. The cottage is right on the main street to both foot and car traffic along with a bar directly across the street which made it very difficult to sleep. On a positive note, the beach if very close and my family thoroughly enjoyed the beach and fabulous sunsets each day.

      Dear Corey:
I am suprised that 3 months after your visit to Clearwater you decided to write a bad review about one of the Cottages you stayed at last Spring Break. Your cottage was not ready when you wanted an early check in. As far as filthy, our cottages are never filthy as there is an on site housekeeper to make sure they are clean. The check in information sheet clearly lets Guest know to call the manager if anything is not right upon check in. If you wanted any additional cleaning , all it takes is a phone call. Some Cottages on located on Mandalay Ave and Clearwater is not quiet Spring Break. Most guests love to watch the foot traffic and action on the main drag. Guests who want quiet should stay high up in the Condos where you will be disconnected from the fun and people of this vibrant beach town. Many of our Guest just love to walk across the street to play pool or darts at the famous Shipwreck Bar, a tourist attraction here in Clearwater.
On the positive note, yes the beach is just a stones thrown from the cottage, and we are glad that your family enjoyed the beach and fabulous sunsets from the rear porch at the Tommy Bahama Island House.

Left on 02/19/2012 for a stay in February 2012

1st this is no High Rise, and this aint no Condo, and this surely aint no Hotel, but it you want it to seem like it is yours, than this is the place. 6 blocks from the pier, and you can safely walk there. the beach is 3 houses away. You cannot see the beach from any window, but you can, if you step out into the street. There was 6 adults, an infant, and 2 dogs, and the Hideway Unit, worked perfect for us. 3 bedrooms, and 1 bath, but it was perfect for us. We felt like it was just ours, while we was there.

Stayed in Dolphin for 2 1/2 nights (got in very late) in September with girl friends for a Girls Weekend. Cannot beat the location! Steps to the beach and short walk to shopping, dining and a great bar with live music - The Brown Boxer. If you are looking for the Ritz, high-rise, high priced condo on the beach, then keep looking. If you are looking for location, location, location, and a traditional beach cottage, this is it. Although we arrived very late at night/early morning, and had a few problems, Management worked with us. Rodney and al did their best to accommodate the four ladies from the north. We had some great memories at the Dolphin. Thanks Rodney!

My husband, 3 teenage boys, and I were a tight fir in the Corner Cottage, but it was the only property left when we decided to vacation at the last minute. The Cottage was clean and met our needs. We loved being so close to the beach and having access to chairs and umbrellas instead of neededing to bring our own. This is no 5 star but we had great service and a great experience!

Great location, steps to the beach

Left on 06/07/2011 for a stay in April 2011

We arrived early, and check in at the motel was a breeze. They gave us a map to get to the cottage, which also was quite easy. The cottage is cooled with room air conditioners, and the one in the kitchen was still broken (as I had read this in a review prior to booking our trip). This made cooking in the kitchen very uncomfortable, and one of the reasons we chose the cottage is we wanted to be able to cook for the kids instead of go to restaurants. It was only 3 buildings away from a gorgeous beach. Also walking distance to most other things you would want. The back yard was great with a small picnic area. Capt al and everyone else we spoke with was very friendly and helpful. It is an older cottage and meets all of your basic needs. It is not a luxury rental, and we didn't expect it to be. We thought it was great.

      Don't have high expectations!

Left on 05/04/2011 for a stay in April 2011

I'll start by saying the only thing I liked about staying at this location was it was so close to the beach and pier 60. Quiet part of street so that was nice. When making reservation by phone i pre-arranged few things like i needed an air mattress as i have family of 5 and extra linens,I also told alan I would be arriving late around 9:30 and I also called day befor we came to remind him.He told me to come to Blue Wave Motel to check in we arrived at 9:10 nobody there I then called alan and he said to just go to the cottage keys under the mat.My problem with this is our taxi is gone i have 3 kids and 4 suitcases and i now have to walk 6 to 7 blocks to get to cottage. The cottage was not prepared for us no air mattress extra towels or blankets/pillows.Alan did bring these items reminding me these are things we handle when checking in. Haha what check in? Bathroom sink backed up constant, toilet had mess all over it when we arrived so i had to clean it,wall in middle of room that they never show in pics so not as spaciaous as it looks, random dishes, dvd player broke, random towels that looked as if they were from home, bed was stiff and noisey,TV in main room speakers blown so u can hardly hear it.I did not have high expectations with what we paid but was let down big time. If you like ritzy places this place not for you. would be good for young couples not families. We will not return.

We apologize for the misunderstanding about the late arrival. We did acknowledge that you would arrive late so the lights and air conditioners were put on and key left under the mat. We simply cannot wait all night for late arrivals and the office closed at 9:00 pm. We had no way of knowing you had a taxi, and did arrive within 15 minutes of your check in with the air mattress, linens and towels. The Corner Cottage is 850 square feet and a one bedroom little house generally for two guests, not 5, and although it is twice the size of most hotel rooms, it is quite spacious. The stiff mattress is a Sterns and Foster firm mattress. As we advertise, the Cottages are great for guests who want to be close to the beach for about half the price of the condos next door. It is not ritzy or high end, but great location, cute and funky, clean and a great value. Value minded families love the Cottages. Thanks for staying with us and your comments. Capt. Al
