Additional Location Information
MAISON MOSAIC is in Clovelly, which is one of the Cape Peninsula’s safest and most beautiful suburbs. In the heart of the Cape Peninsula, Clovelly is a quiet neighbourhood nestled between sandstone mountains in the Fish Hoek Valley. The Silvermine River wetland area, a few metres away, is of interest for bird lovers, and is home to many species of frogs, the endangered leopard toad, buck, porcupines, caracal, and the Cape clawless otter.
The beach, 500 metres down the road, has safe swimming and decent waves for body surfing, and is one of Cape Town’s favourite family beaches. Life savers are on duty during December and January.
There is the 18 hole Clovelly golf course within walking distance from the apartment. Westlake golf course is 10 minutes driving distance away.
The fishing harbour and eclectic shops and restaurants of Kalk Bay are just around the corner, about 2 km away, and there is a range of supermarkets and fast food outlets to choose from in Fish Hoek, about 1 km away.
Some of Cape Town’s most popular tourist attractions are closeby, such as the Tokai and Constantia vineyards (15 minutes away); the penguins at Boulders Beach (about 15 minutes away), and the iconic Cape of Good Hope (about a 30 minute drive away).
The owner of MAISON MOSAIC is a registered tour operator with an extensive knowledge of South Africa and can advise you on where to go and what to see. Bookings can be made on your behalf for tours, shark cage diving, mountain hikes, surf lessons, kayaking, cycling trips, etc.

New YorkGreat Place to Stay
Left on 04/19/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We were looking with my wife at many options to stay in Cape Town and than we found Maison Mosaic in Clovelly. Good price and a great place. We stayed two weeks there. Very nice laid back community located walking distance to the beach between Kalk Bay and Fish Hoek. The house is located literally next to the Silvermine National Park, so if you are a climber or enjoy nature walks you can start your walk directly from the house and walk for breakfast lunch or dinner to Kalk Bay through the mountain trail. The apartment is furnished in a very charming way with a personal touch, that makes you feel right away at home. Penny works as a professional guide for South africa tours and she can give many insights and recommendations about the area. Also she is a mosaic artist (hence name: Maison Mosaic) and you can enjoy her work in the apartment. The living room has plenty of sun and a view on the montain and the deck is very enjoyable to chill out. The place is very clean and sheets and towels changed once a week. Over all we had a great stay and would definitely come back.

We were warmly welcomed by the owner and her lovely dogs. The accommodation is exactly as described on the internet. It is decorated beautifully and very cozy. We especially liked the mosaic art and the wooden deck, where we could sit and have breakfast, beers or glass of wine. The beach, stores, restaurants and harbor are within walking distance, which is perfect on a hot day when there can be lots of traffic. This also gave us plenty reason not to cook. What we did not expect, is that the accommodation is serviced. We were pleasantly surprised to walk into a freshly vacuumed/cleaned apartment. We will definitely be contacting Penny for our next trip to Cape Town.

The place is very nice, well located (close to Kalk Bay and town centre), there are all kind of facilities inside, the only thing was missing is TV connection(not really important, we just like to watch news...). We reccomend it for people who looks for confortability, accessibility for all interesting points arount and reasonable budget.

Total nice landlords. Tim and Penny gave us lots of useful information.
The property is located between Kabelbay and Fish Hoek, so you can achieve both good places to walk. The street is quiet. Herbs are harvested in Penny´s Garden. Thank you, we would come back. -

Berlinlovely stay in Maison Mosaic
Left on 03/07/2012 for a stay in February 2012
We had a wonderful stay for 13 days in Maison Mosaic. We felt very much at home straight away specially after having travelled through South africa before and seeing a lot of other inferior accommodations. It's lovely decorated, clean and comfortable.
The area is very quiet and well located for every kind of activity and just down the road for us one of the best beaches to swim around there. Its very close to Kalk Bay which has fantastic restaurants and shops.
The owners are a lovely couple which helped us out with any question we had and had many useful tips for the area.
We will definitley come back here on our next trip to South africa.
