Description
Quiet and secluded, tucked away at the edge of native Sitka spruce and hemlock forest, our lovingly furnished house is an easy one block to the beach. MONSOON SPECIAL: Stay a 3rd night for free anytime during the off-season... The 1000-sq-ft wraparound deck offers a unique reverse-birds-eye view up into the huge trees just feet away. Wildlife abounds, the landscaping with native foliage blending seamlessly into the woods.
The house has been completely remodeled, with hardwood interiors, lots of skylights and vaulted ceilings. The large master bedroom (king-sized bed) offers a stunning view of the woods through the floor-to-ceiling picture windows making up three sides of the room. A small second bedroom has a double bed, and the living room has a queen sofa-sleeper. A single rollaway cot is also available. A (tiny, very cute) "kid's bunkhouse" sleeps 2 and adjoins the deck near the bedrooms.
Reflecting my love of cooking, the airy, spacious kitchen has lots of counter space, plethora of cooking utensils and appliances (microwave, coffee-maker, blender, etc., although no dishwasher). Charcoal barbecue available on the kitchen patio.
One seating area of the living room centers around the fireplace with comfy sofas. Another area is geared toward entertainment. Dining nook comprises the third area. High-speed WiFi is free, so movies can be streamed (or of course DVDs) to the flat screen monitor. The built-in hardwood bookcases are chock full of rainy-day entertainment: extensive library of books, DVDs, and board games.

Just to clarify, our "Monsoon Special," which runs throughout the off-season, actually provides a completely free 3rd night, not just a discounted rate. I am sorry the towels issue caused you problems! The reason for our policy is that the housecleaner would have to stay an extra hour each time just to run a load of towels; she already usually runs 2 full loads to wash the linens and blankets during the 3 hours that she cleans. I've mulled this over and over but always come back to the conclusion that most folks would rather bring their own towels rather than have me pass on the cost of the extra $25 I would need to pay the housecleaner for the extra hour. I pay 100% of cleaning fee that the renter is charged directly to the housecleaner. Thanks again for the thoughtful review - greatly appreciate it!
