The Château is an exceptional property dating from the 11th century and is set in a private estate of several hectares of woodland and meadows. The castle, which is privately occupied, has been fully restored and the owners are more than happy to enlighten guests with its history over a glass of wine. Villa Leguillace is a totally independent annex of the privately owned château, accommodating eight/nine persons. The villa is accessed by a private road leading to the southeast-facing terrace, which is equipped wit...h garden furniture, a barbecue and ping-pong table. The private swimming pool is set below the terrace with a special place for infants and young children. In addition, there is a private tennis court found in the front of the chateau. Lessons are available upon request.

The living room offers comfort in a traditional French style. The large fireplace beckons guests to partake in lively conversation or after dinner drinks. Also available is satellite TV, a DVD player, CD/stereo system, and a phone. The dining room seats eight at the large wooden table. The kitchen is completely equipped with an oven, gas stove, dishwasher, microwave, and washing machine. One double bedroom is located on the main floor (queen bed and wardrobe), shower room en suite and separate WC. Upstairs are the three remaining bedrooms (all with queen beds), two of which are ensuite with bathtubs. The Château is located near the quaint village of Leguillac de l'Auche, and only six kms from the busy market town of Saint-Astier and its historic church. It is centrally situated in the heart of the Perigord enabling visitors to enjoy all aspects of the Dordogne. At 17 kms, Perigueux is the capital of the Perigord and the cultural heart of Dordogne. Founded over 2,000 years ago, it is a gracious blend of ancient and modern. Perigueux is also home to the largest cathedral in the southwest of France, its Byzantine architecture overlooks the Medieval and Renaissance aspects of the town. The pedestrian area, with magnificent Renaissance houses and its shady squares and cafe terraces, is a marvelous venue for open-air events like the International Mime Festival, Mimos, or the free evening jazz concerts in July and August.
The town of Brantôme, located about 25 km afar, is arguably perhaps one of the prettiest villages in the Dordogne. The abbey is host to a number medieval and renaissance buildings, including the oldest belfry in France. The charming town of Brantôme is an island encircled by a loop of the river Dronne, linked to the outside world by five bridges, hence its nickname "Venice of the Perigord".Read more
