Momma Bear was a wonderful cabin to relax and get away from the everyday hustle/bustle. The front porch was perfect for enjoying our morning coffee and evening drinks. The property, with chickens, ducks, cows, and the friendly dog Brutus, made it such an enjoyable view with the sights and sounds of nature. The cabin was well-equipped for cooking, sleeping, and relaxing; we were well stocked for the fireplace and with plenty of homemade quilts to keep warm on the cooler nights. The owners Marc and Pam were very friendly and helpful. We will be back!

The service was great. Everything was described very well in the little email sent, how to get there, where the key was etc. The cabin was big enough for two, with a great fireplace and lots of firewood to feed the flames which we did every night of our stay. It is a good little place to take your sweetie and have her all to yourself. Ashville is only half an hour away and the smokey mountain trails were close by too. There were other attractions nearby but we didn't have the time to get into everything, (next time!). The best thing we liked was the solitude, the stars at night, no noise, and the mountains. We met the owner too, a great guy and friendly demeaner - and the place shows his love of hard work and diligence.

The week was peaceful and restorative to our souls! Just sitting on the porch and gazing out at the hills was a blessing. We loved the free-range chickens, Brutus - the friendly dog and the owners who brought us honey and eggs.
The cottage was described as one room and I had reservations, but it is organized with a dividing wall that clearly separated the sleeping area from the dining-kitchen area. The kitchen was well-stocked. I liked having access to a washer & dryer. The décor was charming.
Location was great. Easy access to the interstate. We hiked 5 of the 7 days, driving to different areas.
Just perfect!

The owner's were friendly. The cabin was clean and cozy. Supply items were available in near by Waynesville, NC. The only negative to the cabin is only religious channels and HBO available. I would stay again and would recommend it to a friend.

No one could ask for a more wonderful experience. Our host showed up with fresh, just laid eggs and left us a delightful basket of goodies including honey from his own hives. The view from "Mamma Bear" is awesome. We enjoyed a fire every night were able to watch "The Masters" golf tournament on T.V. Sun. afternoon, a must for my husband. The location is only 20 min. from Waynesville, N.C. and Lake Junaluska. I could go on and on.
