We stayed for a month while looking for permanent accommodation in the area , and were very graciously accommodated. The surroundings are natural, with great gentle-hill type walking and access to services and restaurants nearby .Furniture was comfortable and well thought out, including the computer desk ;and especially important, the bed was firm and had lovely clean linens. Kitchen and laundry were well equipped and all appliances worked well. Access is via the sidehouse garden path, so someone with disabilities or steadiness issues might be challenged; for most, easily accessible. The bonus was our gracious hosts and the independence which the suite afforded us so we could live fairly normally during our move. Would gladly stay again. Thank you, Keith and Cynthia

Lovely setting and lots of privacy. Sitting in the hot tub watching the stars with a glass of wine and listening to the silence of the area was a big highlight! The owners are friendly.

We recently stayed at "the vines" for two weeks. Our hosts, Keith and Cynthia, greeted us with a warm welcome, "checked us in", and then gave us our privacy. The suite is well appointed and very clean. It certainly met all our needs. The vines offers excellent value for money and is well situated to all the Cowichan valley has to offer. We look forward to our next visit!

This is not the first time we've stayed here -- in fact we make it a point to come for an affordable getaway every winter/spring. We can't think of a more perfect place to go for the cost. With a whole suite, we never feel trapped in our room, although we do spend a lot of the week in there -- we plan it that way, with a stack of Dvds (to go with the 52 inch screen) and a stack of books, we can just forget about life for a week. And with the price, it's almost like staying at home -- only better! Of course we don't want to stay cooped up for the whole 7 days, and there's plenty to do in the area as well -- starting with the hot tub right out the back door to hikes and winery tours and just plain exploring the beautiful Shawnigan Lake/Cowichan Valley area of Vancouver Island. And Keith and Cynthia are a perfect balance of being there if you need them but almost invisible if you don't. We would recommend The Vines to anyone who wants an affordable getaway, from a few nights to pretty much as long as you would like. We've traveled a lot, and this is hard to beat both for the facility itself and definitely for value for money. We will be back! -- Mary & Danny
