Canberra, AustraliaThe best holiday home in Coles Bay bar none
Left on 01/13/2013 for a stay in December 2012
Pretty much the last house on the road before you get to the Visitor Information Centre (literally a 5 min walk). Huge, gorgeously appointed house with stunning attention to detail in the build, set-up and presentation. Spacious, airy, quiet, unbelieveable views, cool in hot summer, and a kitchen that wants for nothing. The owner is easy to deal with, prompt and courteous.
The in-house guestbook provides some good tips from previous guests - if you want a good laugh check out the entry from the poms who expect a "welcome" pack to include what amounts to a 5 course meal. The responses from guests who followed are equally hilarious.
But I digress, this is just a wonderful place and the best we have stayed in during our history of 20 years worth of annual trips to Tassie. You just can't wrong here - I can't recommend Freycinet Haven highly enough. -

Sydneyan elegant house in a beautiful setting
Left on 11/02/2012 for a stay in October 2012
My husband and I stayed for three days in Coles Bay at Freycinet Haven. It is a modern, well designed home. Our room had an ensuite and there was also a very large family bathroom with a bath and washing machine and dryer. There are three other bedrooms but the doors were locked as we didn't need them.
The kitchen was large and well equipped, and part of a very large dining/sitting room. There was also a balcony at the front, with a barbeque and seating, and a back deck.
The house has a lovely view of the Hazards through trees and is very quiet; all you can hear at night are the frogs in the nearby pond.
It is walking distance to the beach, and one night we walked into the one restaurant in town for dinner (excellent pizza and a good wine list).
Freycinet Haven was a very comfortable and quiet place to stay in an extremely beautiful part of Tasmania. -

Beautiful views, comfortable luxurious accommodation and fantastic location. We loved sitting in the sunshine on the deck in the morning, watching the sun rise over the stunning hazards. Everything you could think of for a holiday house and more. Beach is within easy walking distance - we will definitely be back for another stay!

Freycinet Haven is a lovely house, well appointed and furnished, cosy and comfortable. We stayed three nights and the weather was awful on one of the days - the house was weatherproof! We loved the views and the comforts and the heaters. We loved being able to buy relatively cheap local seafood and cook it in the fabulous kitchen. The stories in the guest book were most entertaining and it was obvious the owners have responded to requests. We had a beaut stay. We especially thanked the cleaners - it was spotless. WiFi would make it perfect!

Left on 04/15/2012 for a stay in April 2012
We stayed in a few locations whilst travelling around Tasmania and this was by far the best place we stayed! It was spacious, clean and was beautifully decorated. I have since contacted the owner and asked where she purchased a couple of items in the hope to purchase them for my own home. We have a crawling 9 month old baby and we found the property to be child friendly (with a porta cot and high chair included at no extra charge). This place has a great reputation too. A couple of friends in Hobart had already heard of it. I wished we could have stayed longer. The area of Coles Bay is gorgeous and is a must if you visit Tasmania. Just a tip, do a food shop before you enter Coles Bay as there is only a tiny shop that may not supply you with all your needs.

Left on 02/03/2012 for a stay in January 2012
Freycinet Haven in wel positioned at Coles Bay for a stay in this very popular National Park. The property is modern with top quality appliances.
Decks at the front and back ensure all day sun and the view to the hazards is beautiful.
The property is not cheap but is very good value for 2-3 couples.
All you need is food and wine for a relaxing break in this beautiful part of Tasmania.
Hope to use again in the future and highly recommended.
Only criticism, as with many properties in australia, is that WiFi network is not available to stay in touch with emails.
Owners need to consider this as service that many travellers are now demanding. priority -

The house is ideally equipped and positioned to cater for large families with plenty of room. It is in walking distance to Wine Glass Bay, Richardson's Beach and National Park and good dining facilities. Driving distance to Friendly Beaches, Swanwick, Bicheno and Swansea. Boat Hire & Cruises available as well as fishing in the area. Highly recommended for families to relax and enjoy the surrounding area.

Freycinet National Park is one of the gems of Tasmania, an undisturbed peninsula (and islands) on Tasmania's sunny east coast. Its vegetation is more or less undisturbed. We did a day walk climbing into the mountains in the centre of the peninsula and it was all the lovely original australian bush vegetation, not an invasive weed in sight. Wineglass Bay is as beautiful as the photos suggest. There's no urban excitement in Coles Bay, just some pricey restaurants and a very basic supermarket, but the setting is gorgeous. One of the great things about Freycinet Haven is that it is virtually on the boundary of the park, and from the balcony you look out on the park, the inlet and the mountains behind on the mainland. It was a great location for us: an unusual family group of four siblings with partners. It has four good-sized bedrooms, one big living-dining-kitchen room with the balcony at one end, and all the mod cons you really need. It would be expensive for a single family - over $2000 a week in the peak season, when we went - but split among four families, that was no problem. The furniture was comfortable and reasonably stylish. Tassie's east coast is surprisingly unpopulated, even in midsummer - a bit like going to Victoria's beaches must have been in the 1930s. No real towns anywhere: even Swansea and Bicheno are small places. But that's its charm, along with the landscape, wineries and great beaches.

Left on 07/16/2011 for a stay in June 2011
A badly needed weekend away was needed, at short notice we were able to book this beautiful home and arrive the same day. We were welcomed by a spotless clean home that was both warm and inviting, and was equipped with everything we could possibly need. Heating in all rooms and electric blankets on the beds. Location was perfect and the views of the Hazards was amazing. Kitchen was very well equipped did not need to bring a thing except for our food. Everything has been well thought out for the comfort of the guests. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wishing to visit this beautiful part of Tassie, and to Louise and Charlie Thank you for opening your home for others to enjoy. We will definitely be back.

My family of 6 stayed here for my Mum's 50th birthday celebration and it was the perfect setting for wonderful family time - large dinner table, open plan living areas with seperate section with the bedrooms so a bit of personal space if you need it!! the BBQ on the deck with the Hazards in view was great, big couch with big tv. Heating was also great which is important if going in winter!! We had a slight difficulty with something when we arrived and had to ring the owners, they were great and it was all sorted easily. We enjoyed it so much we have already booked in another trip!!

Freycinet Haven provided all that we needed to thoroughly enjoy a relaxed few days there. The weather was very cold, but the heating was superb. There are 4 large bedrooms with super beds. The kitchen, living, dining area is really well planned, and is ideal for a large group such as ours. There was plenty of parking as well.

My family and I stayed here for 2 nights in april whilst touring Tasmania. We couldn't have asked for more from the house and the website photos did not lie. The views were wonderful and the position to the National Park was fantastic. We even made use of the BBQ. We would definitely recommend it to any friends/family who are planning to visit Tasmania.

We stayed here with 3 other couples (8 people in all). This is a clean, modern, spacious, comfortable retreat. It is close to beaches and the national park. We walked, relaxed on the beaches, climbed Mt amos and did the Wineglass Bay walk. We loved it here and have already booked for a return visit next year.

This is a beautifully presented, new property as close to the National park entrance as it is possible to get. Good views of the Hazards; wonderful location. Coles Bay and the associated Freycinet National Park is a not to be missed location and this home is amongst the best you can get in this area.
Property can sleep 8; two queen bedrooms (one with en suite) and two twin bedrooms. All mod cons; superb kitchen central to open space living, dining areas. Very, very comfortable and well laid out. -

Left on 12/01/2010 for a stay in November 2010
I stayed here with my spouse and 3 friends. The accommodations were outstanding. The only thing that would have made it better is if it was waterfront. The house is right outside the national park, making it great for exploring Freycinet. It rained during a good portion of our stay, but we had a lovely time cooking in the well-stocked kitchen (recommend the butcher in Bicheno for great meats and local produce). We also appreciated the Cd's, movies, and games to occupy our rainy afternoons!
