      Partly furnished apartment

Left on 03/02/2013 for a stay in November 2012

No wardrobes, kitchen not fully equipped otherwise the apartment is very nice - suitable for short term. It is about 30 minutes walk to the colva beach not 3 minutes. There is no washing machine.
Suitable for two people but not for family.

      Ideal for Couple with Transport

Left on 01/04/2013 for a stay in December 2012

Delightful complex, pool excellent, well maintained. Well ordered apartment, very quiet. If you are an avid camper suitable for up to 4 but more suited to a couple. If you do not want to self cater (adequately equipped kitchen) transport is a definite advantage as we found very few restaurants in walking distance (scooters are plentiful and cheap). Many beautiful beaches and wonderful selection of restaurants within a ten minute drive.
Furniture not the most comfortable but adding a single futon and cushions made all the difference. Good selection of Viewing Channels for Sports and Films (English). Mel and Tony communicated quickly and honestly with queries before booking and were extremely nice to meet. Although advertised as weekly linen change the linen was actually changed mid-week which was a very pleasant surprise.
Wouldn't hesitate to book again as had a great holiday, having night security was a bonus.

      Not what we expected

Left on 11/21/2011 for a stay in November 2011

The owner was very welcoming and friendly, the apartment was clean and the swimming pool was lovely, however I would say it was better for a couple only. We had two grandchildren with us and there was no pull out bed that I had expected; Melanie had made up a mattress on the floor and a sun lounger for the 11 and 12 year old. The lounge seating was uncomfortable and we had frequent power cuts. Equipment was limited; (there were only two suacepans, one without a handle, no hairdryer, no landline). The 'supermarket' was a good ten minute walk away and Colva beach was a 40 minute walk. The approach was very run down but the beach at Benaulim (a 7 minute taxi drive away) was stunning and we loved it there in the beautiful warm sea with lovely beach restaurants.

Response from Tony Cordeaux & Melanie Hall - 12/20/2011

      Tony Cordeaux & Melanie Hall

      Owner

Thank you for your valuable feedback. It was a pleasure meeting you while you were in Goa.

We are genuinely sorry to hear that there were some negative aspects to your experience while you were here.

We go out of our way to maintain high standards of relations with our guests and the facilities we provide at our apartment. We clearly stated in our very first response to your enquiry the following:

"...inverter back-up power to cover power cuts..."
"There is also a futon style mattress and a sofa which would serve as extra beds for your grandchildren"

"... 3 minutes (2km) from 'The Queen Of Beaches' at Colva..."

My husband, eleven year old daughter, and I walk those 2 kilometres to the
beach using a short-cut through palm fringed, lush green padi fields, directly to the beach in 20 minutes (the frequent local buses, which stop outside the apartment gates, take 3 minutes). I offered to show you the route, but you
declined the offer. It is part of our standard welcome procedure to show our guests this wonderful route to the beach. Eight out of ten of our
guests make a point of telling us how pleased they are that the apartment is within easy walking distance of the beach and the facilities they
require, and how useful the three small general stores within three
minutes walk of the apartment are, while at the same time being situated in a tranquil, picturesque area, a little away from the hustle and bustle of the local resort.

Unfortunately power cuts are a part of every day life in India and beyond our
control so, being fully aware of that, we have provided an inverter
(battery back up power) to instantly and automatically provide power to one light and one fan in each room plus the TV and satellite system,
and we provide gas to cook by, thus ensuring that use of the facilities
remains uninterrupted during inevitable power cuts. Apartments in our price bracket do not usually provide an inverter.

      Thanks again for your feedback.
      Best Regards, Melanie

      Great value, super friendly owners!

Left on 07/13/2011 for a stay in March 2011

I stayed here with my parents for a couple of weeks in March 2011. We were very well looked after by Melanie - she could not have done more for us. We had a few dramas with having to rearrange flights, and get medication etc and she was fantastic. We even got a tour of the area on our first morning! The apartment is very well looked after, and is absolutely perfect for independent travelers.

Great, friendly, well maintained place to stay

Left on 07/02/2011 for a stay in January 2011

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The location is really peaceful but close enough to the beach and shops. The complex is very new and well maintained with a great pool and gardens.
I am a single Mum and travelled to India with my two small boys so it was very reassuring to have 24 hour security on site.
The other people who live in the complex were very friendly as were the owners of the apartment who made every effort to make us feel welcome. I hope to go back next year.

Comfortable and opportunity to cook for yourself

Left on 05/31/2011 for a stay in February 2011

Very much for the independant traveller. The location is not immediately appealing and we were not sure we'd arrived at the right place. The new buildings are attractive but are behind older and shabbier buildings. The apartment block was still being completed and the neighbouring block was under construction was initially offputting. But there were no issues with the builders (the builders simply didn't seem to work much but that was fine with us). The apartment was very comfortable and Tony was helpful with local info. It was great to be able to cook for ourselves, the local supermarkets are limited but we managed to find all we needed. The pool was nice but would be crowded if all the units were occupied. Quite a long walk to the beach but plenty of tuk tuks, taxi's or buses. Made a great change to hotels and you feel more in touch with local life. We really enjoyed our stay.

Great accommodation in a fabulous country!

Left on 02/04/2011 for a stay in January 2011

We had a great time staying here. The apartment is lovely and the owners were very helpful. When we arrived they even drove us around the area pointing out good bars, restaurants, and places to shop. On one occasion we returned from the beach to find there was no water. We called the owners and they came immediately to sort it out. It turned out the maid had switched the mains tap off while she was cleaning the place! I'm really pleased we didn't stay in a hotel as it was great to have so much extra space and privacy.

Best value place we stayed on our trip round India

Left on 10/22/2010 for a stay in August 2010

We were warmly welcomed by the owners Mel and Tony, they gave us a tour of the apartment and grounds. Very friendly people who went out of their way to make us feel at home and gave us lots of great advise on the local area. The apartment is lovely, everything seemed new. I think we may have been their first guests. All the furniture was comfortable especially the bed. Such a beautifully quiet location, with pretty gardens and it was lovely swimming in the pool at sunset. The nearby local beach at Sernabatim is stunning. All in all without doubt the best value place we stayed on our trip round India.

Tony and Melanie were great, friendly, and very helpful people. The apartment was all clean and new, and more than met all our needs. The area is a lovely quiet place, with beautiful tropical gardens with palm trees. The pool was very welcome, as when we were nt at the beach, the kids were still happy and quiet! The holiday was definitely great value for India. We all had a great time and would definitely go again.
