      In the Spanish Countryside

Left on 04/09/2010 for a stay in December 2009

Loved Casa Granadina. Rosie is so friendly and hospitable and what a cook!
Her Spanish home is beautiful, cozy and lovingly decorated. I picked fresh mandarins to eat and walked the trails in the beautiful area that she lives.
Whenever I have the opportunity to return to the area I will definitely stay with Rosie at Casa Granadina in Comares.

six weeks at Casa Granadina with Rosie were not enough!

Left on 04/07/2010 for a stay in March 2010

I stayed with Rosie at Casa Granadina for 6 weeks, February 10 through March 23, 2010. I had never been to Spain before this trip; I found Casa Granadina at the Comares web site and chose it based on price, photos, and Rosie's helpful pre-visit emails. This B&B is a beautiful old Spanish home with thick, white stone walls and deep-set windows and doors, decorated impeccably by Rosie in the traditional, casual-but-classy style of the Axarquia region. I felt at home from the instant I arrived. During my entire stay, Rosie went out of her way to make sure I had everything I wanted and needed. When my eye glasses frame fell apart, Rosie drove me to the opticians for repairs. When I wanted to check out marinas, Rosie came with me to nearby Valez-Malaga and showed me the seaside marina there. With another guest we took in an amazing Flamenco concert that Rosie arranged. She introduced me to her terrific neighbors as well as to shop- and cafe-owners in the area. She helped with my Spanish. She anticipated my needs and offered her assistance with the kindest consideration. The food Rosie prepares is truly special - as the Guest Book comments all attest. Fresh produce comes right from Rosie's garden; orange, lemon, avocado and almond trees are everywhere. For her birthday this month, I gave my daughter, 26, who loves baking and cooking, a Gift Certificate good for 10 days at Casa Granadina because she will so enjoy hanging with Rosie in the kitchen, swapping recipes and sharing ideas. I was in Andalucia primarily to evaluate houses-for-sale; although Rosie is not a realtor, I found her input extremely helpful. I was also in Spain to relax and enjoy the beauty of the countryside; I struck out every day in my rental car or on foot to explore nearby villages, and looked forward so to getting 'home' to Casa G, a great meal and a cozy fire. Hiking the area is exceptional: Take in one of Rosie's Walks in the surrounding hills - you'll never forget it!

Authentic taste of Spain, wonderful food - local, fresh & organi

Left on 04/07/2010 for a stay in March 2010

If your choice of vacation is in a large, concrete, inpersonal hotel surrounded by fast food joints & noisy bars, then Casa Granadina is most certainly not for you !!!

If however you want a taste of the "real Spain" ( but still only around 40 minutes to the coast ) staying in a beautiful old authentic Spanish house, surrounded by orchards, with lemons, oranges, avocado, olive & almond trees, then this is THE place to stay.

Where else in the world can you look out of your bedroom window in the morning, and watch your wonderful hostess Rosie picking oranges from the tree & then serving them freshly squeezed at breakfast?

Breakfast at Casa Granadina is a pure delight, with fresh fruit, homemade preserves, yoghurts, awesome fresh bread & a selection of meats & local cheeses. If you get a yearning for an English breakfast, then just let Rosie know & it will appear.

Casa Granadina is a lovely house, with clean, comfortable bedrooms & several places to relax, even old authentic fireplaces should it be cold.

Rosie has certainly found a winning formula with her B&B & the 4 days l spent there were wonderful. Even evening meals & picnic's are provided on request, with the accent being fresh, local & organic

Thank you Rosie for your amazing hospitality, it is my intention to return one day

      Stella
