For a weekend or a week, the High Street Guest House is the place you can settle in and relax. Built in the early 1900’s by the Fellbaums, the family has lovingly renovated the home, adding modern amenities.
Entering the living room through the original 100 year old door, you are greeted with a comfortable area to read, play games, watch movies or just enjoy each other’s company. The trip to Comfort, TX, was an early Christmas present for my mother. I did not tell the owner this; but when we arrived, a fully decorated and lit Christmas tree greeted us in the window. That was just the beginning of the thoughtful touches we found everywhere in this adorable cottage. The cottage can sleep eight, so we had our choice of comfortable beds. There is one full bath and another half bath conveniently located off a delightful, enclosed sleeping porch. A washer and dryer are also available. The owner stocked the kitchen with a lovely assortment of drinks - soda, tea, coffee, bottled water - and some snacks. While there is a stove, we mostly made use of the microwave. We loved staying at the High Street Guesthouse and will gladly return.

This beautiful old home is easily accesible in the quaint liitle town of Comfort. It's an easy drive from Fredericksburg. When you first enter the home, it's obvious that the owners have put a lot of love and hard work into making it a feel like home.
It had everything we needed. I couldn't wait to soak in the antique tub with the supplied bath salt, so relaxing after our long drive there. There is satellite/cable tv, but we never turned it on..we were thumbing through books and games that they also supply. The bed was comfortable and our sleep was restful in this quite little town!
