If you plan to visit Lake Como without the need of a car-this brand new Lake Como apartment is close to the lake, ferry , restaurants, bus routes so no car is necessary!

The apartment (completed in 2010) has been tastefully furnished throughout. This ground floor home represents the ideal apartment for a base to explore the whole of the lake from Bellagio to Menaggio and with the lake, ferry and bus route just a few minutes walk from the accommodation you are never far from the buzz of the lake! Argegno is unique in its compact fountain adorned piazza is the hub of village life where locals mix freely and some of the best wine (and win...e bars), coffee shop, geletaria and restaurants on the whole lake can be found all within a few metres walk of one another

Take the funicular close to the village for superb lake and mountain views!

Shingle beach for sunbathing plus mountaineering in near by val d'intelvi for the more adventurous!

However for holidaymakers who liketo explore there is plenty of variation on offer from visiting medieval churches to browsing at the many italian boutiques in nearby Como town famed for it's silk and leather, talking a boat ride for a spot of dinner on one of the many lakeside villages to climbing the mountains high above the lake! Choose from Villa Carlotta, 20 minutes from the apartment with it's acres of beautiful lake facing gardens, Villa Balbinello in Lenno (15 minutes drive)for romance and relaxation (James Bond seemed to favour the latter in the recent Casino Royale production filmed here in 2006)

Bellagio never fails to dissapoint and offers a great excuse to take the water ferry across the lake. Marvel at it's picturesque promontories, cobbled streets and fine art shops all with lake views par excellence.

Drive down to Cernobbio for an idyllic sunday afternoon stroll. Menaggio, with it's pretty palm lined walkways it another pretty lake village worth exploring.

  We stayed in Milano for a couple of nights and headed by train and local bus to argrgno, a really easy pleasant couple of hours later we where met by the lovely Julie who greeted us at the towns key-side and chauffeured us up to the apartment.
  The lovely Julie showed us in and around, explaining cooker, water, washing machine etc and gave us a great rundown on the surrounding facilities, transport( which is very good,a punctual and numerous bus and ferry service ), local shops( A brilliant local bakers, a green grocer and a cute general store for your bits, a weekly market a couple of supermarkets in the next town), restaurants and bars.
  The apartment is part of a tastefully built modern property that perches just above the town, clean modern open plan spacious lounge kitchen, nice bathroom with good shower. In the bedroom plenty of wardrobe space and a comfy bed.
  On opening the shuttered windows to the balconies we were greeted by the most magnificent view, this alone is reason to stay here.
  The town below and the lake stretching out to the mountains.
  Aregeno's hub is a two minute stroll down the cobbled streets, along the lake front and in the small piazza are plenty of good cafes, restaurants (The argegno hotel, top pizza and lovely staff. Restaurant Barchetta Mushroom risotto triumph, friendly) and bars. Lots of diversity and contrast to keep it interesting.
  Argegno for me was the perfect base to explore Como and it's surroundings which have so much going for it.
  It's well worth a visit. I would defiantly return.
  Feed back: Could be more generous with cleaning materials and needs Wifi. If booked on line should be on line.

  We had an absolutely amazing time in Lake Como. It's a truly beautiful area and we are very pleased we chose to stay in argegno as we thought it was especially lovely.
  The apartment was everything we had hoped it would be. It is lovely and modern, has everything you could need, and is in an absolutely fabulous location, with the most sensational view of the lake. We just loved it.

  Wonderful views and location: a real taste of Italian life!

  Lovely, modern apartment, spotlessly clean. Views just as stunning as they appear on the website. Beautiful walk to argegno centre to cafes,lake and pattiserie with delicious bread and cakes. We were met by Julie, who was very helpful during our stay, booking us tables at superb restaurants nearby. A word of advice: take a fan as the apartment becomes humid at night. Just one complaint: the private carpark appeared to be used by non-residents; when we were forced to park elsewhere, it was a major problem.

  Great apartment, super views. Comfortable, well laid out.
  
  Close to village, easy communal parking.
  
  Downside, no air conditioning or even fans for hot humid nights.
  
  Noisy, hairpin bends right outside apartment a nighttime challenge for boy racers right up till 0100. Then trucks working from 0600.
  
  Not a place for quiet getaway.

  Comfortable, convenient and well located to visit the many Lake

  The accommodation was clean, comfortable and offered a relaxing holiday environment. Easy walk to the local restaurants which had a real local feel, not like the tourist villages of Bellagio and Menaggio. A magnificent outlook from the balconies and made for a memorable time in argegno and the surrounding attractions. A great place to come home to at the end of the day. Julie and Barry, managing agents, very helpful providing local information and recommendations as well as booking restaurants and organizing local transport. All facilities available including washing machine and dishwasher but let down by not providing washing powder or dish washing liquids which for short term stay is essential.

  Great apartments 10min walk from argegno bars

  We've stayed in Julie&Barrie; Casa Rossa and Giallo apartments in June 2011. Great apartments with outstanding views, terraces, private parking. The apartments are situated only 10min walking from great bar Pensavo Meglio with free wifi and great wines served by Luca.
