Villetta Splendida is located directly on the 'WATERFRONT' in the village of Pognana Lario, on Lake Como at the Lake Como Beach Resort, 10 minutes from Como Centro and 15 minutes from Bellagio on the Bellagio side of the lake. It is centrally located on the lake.The property is quiet, peaceful and tranquil, yet close to everything. The ferry crossing is a 3 minute walk on foot from the villetta and the public transportation is very easily accessible from the Villetta.
The landscape of the lakes area is beautifully terraced with quaint cobblestone roads and steps, curved narrow roads with lots of ambiance and charm, traditional to Italy.

We had a really enjoyable stay here a couple of weeks ago...met some lovely people at some impromptu Bbqs (one of the nice things about the place) and visited the beautiful towns (Como, Bellagio, Varenna particularly) and the awesome lakeside villas (Balbianello and Carlotta).
Eric our host was charming and he did everything he could to help. His local knowledge was great and no request was too much trouble.
The accommodation was comfortable and well-equipped. Only comments are:
a) our villetta was on the side of the building and did not directly face the lake. Although a surprise and initially disappointing, this was OK for us as it meant that the Villetta was cooler during the day. But we think it's important to mention that not all properties directly face the lake, as suggested by the photos of Lcbr on T/A and Flipkey.
b) the drive from the road to the car park is very, very, steep! So if you have a car, be aware!
All in all, a really enjoyable time! Would definitely go back for a second visit. -

Lake Como is justly famous for the beauty of the lake and the many small towns all around but the helpfulness of Eric and Robin make this a superb vacation,enabling you to fully enjoy the Italian experience. We received many helpful suggestions, and accomodations were made cheerfully and promptly. Whether it was exploring agengno, renting a boat or dinner in Bellagio, there was always more to do than we could fit in-even with two weeks. We enjoyed meeting people from all over the world, sharing a glass of wine over the barbecue and the lake.

Sehr Erholsam und es gibt möglichkeiten zum angeln und direkten zugang zum schwimmen im See.
Der Service ist wirklich gut, es gibt 4 Sterne Hotels die von diesem Service lernen können. Z.B. Auf Nachfrage wurden die Betten neu bezogen und es gab frische Handtücher.
Wir hatten einen Medizinischennotfall der Chef (Eric) persönlich hat uns ins Krankenhaus begleitet und hat die Sprachlichen schwierigkeiten beseitigt.
Wir kommen wieder...!

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Lake Como Beach Resort. Eric was an absolute invaluable resource to us during our stay. He helped us with making lunch/dinner reservations, cooking class lessons, acquiring groceries at the local market, and most importantly accompanied us to the hospital when are 2 year old's eye swelled up from a bug bite. I don't know what we would have done with out him!
The villettas and the property are well maintained. It was very relaxing each night sitting out on the patio, barbequing, sipping wine and looking at breathtakingly beautiful Lake Como. Our whole family had a wonderful time. I cannot recommend Lake Como Beach resort enough! -

Our family holiday on Lake Como in September was a rare treat. We don't get away as a family very often ( as the children are all grown) and the location was perfect for a family reunion or get together.
The splendid location on the waterfront was the nicest little peaceful hideaway on the waterfront. You can swim directly in the lake right off the lido and dock.One can jump on the ferry just minutes away and visit the many tourist sites, or stay around the area and relax, rent a boat and enjoy family. We used the outdoor grill for many of our meals and spent time recounting our many fun times in years past during family vacations. The views from the villa is stunning and one could never get enough. Eric helped us rent a boat where we picked it up on the Lcbr dock and went for dinner in Isola Comacina and visited the James Bond Villa where my wife and I were engaged many years ago.
The villettas are fully equipped and lacked for nothing,lovely and homey. Warm and comfortable. A real home away from home. All the other guests nearby were also lovely and there was a real sense of family and caring. Everyone helped one another. I had heard this about the Lcbr, before making the reservation and that the hosts were amazing. They were so right.They could not have been more polite, kind or helpful. I don't know anyone who would go our of their way at midnight for a guest - Eric did! The villetta was furnished very tastefully and was beautiful. The gardens were exceptional and the views... really... wow! Bring your camera as you will get the most amazing pictures with unobstructed views.
I cannot find a fault in this property it was pretty perfect.
Highly recommended for everyone. This is not a place that is wheel chair accessible,99.9% of all the locations in Italy aren't. Too bad as they are missing out on a gem. Well done on your lovely property, we will be back soon.

Our week on Lake Como at the Lake Como Beach Resort was awesome.
The resort far exceeded our expectations and we were pleasantly surprised to find such a little gem tucked away off the lake road right on the waterfront.
The property is private, very romantic immaculate and beautifully maintained and decorated.
Incredibly romantic for any occasion.
Eric and Robin were excellent owners who were warm and welcoming, very attentive and could not have done enough for us.
We will be back next summer to enjoy your dack and property.

The Lcbr is to die for. We could not have chosen a more perfect accommodation.
Loved the old world charm of the roman roads and history.
Absolutely stunning and charming.
Everything you could possibly need is all here ! Beach, Lido, dock and very well equipped villas right on the waterfront.
They are incredibly romantic and were so much fun!

Superb quality accommodations on the Lake Como Waterfront. Fantastic little resort - and it really is a resort, with a lido, big gardens with gorgeous flora and fauna, boat dock and you can literally put your feet right in the lake at the beach, right at your doorstep. Great sun loungers in front of the beach and gardens to lay on. Had great fun swimming in the lake and bbqing. The villettas are lovely with all the mod cons and fully equipped. Beautiful decor. All in all fantastic place to stay. A real find!! Perfetto !

Upon arriving we were given a warm welcome by Eric who then showed us to our villetta which provided everything that we needed for a comfortable and relaxing holiday. The location was a good base from which to explore Lake Como and we were able to alternate a day exploring with a day relaxing by the lake, an ideal combination! Eric and Robin recommended restaurants and then made the necessary bookings for us. I also enjoyed an unforgettable Italian cookery lesson with a local chef which was again arranged for me by Robin and Eric. There were plenty of sun loungers, tables, inflatables, barbecues, books, dvds, etc to help you relax and enjoy your holiday.

Lake Como Beach Resort was all that we hoped for. Eric was the most tremendous host and did whatever he could to make your stay fantastic. The villas were spotless and furnished simply but beautifully. The location was great for exploring the Western leg of Lake Como and had a wonderful view down the lake. We are a family with teenage boys- the highlight was the boat hire. The boys loved it and were amazed by the fantastic villas on lake side. This was a lovely place to stay and will stay in our memories for a long time. Only slight problem was the drive down to the car park - took some practise to get up that steep hill.

Had a rest on Como together with friends, with one married couple.
Place, it, paradise on the earth. The fine nature, pure and transparent lake, beautiful mountains.
Weather, very soft and comfortable. The arrangement, directly on lake, is possibility to rent a boat.
Landing stage nearby, in 5 minutes on foot. Therefrom it is possible to go by the ship to any point on lake.
It is a pleasure to bathe. On a country house cleanliness and an order, all is for excellent rest.
Numbers pure, are all necessary. Nearby shops and cafe.
Separate thanks Robin!!!, reception very good, full information support and participation.

We were greeted by the charming owner Eric who couldn't do enough for us. The accomodation is very basis but adequate and clean. The position of the villa is smack bang on the lake with it's own lido and jetty our children had a ball playing with other children sharing the 14 apartment complex. A spectacular position and views to die for we sat by the BBQ area grazing most evenings eating the delicious food bought opposite at the family owned deli/butcher/supermarket which was extemely convenient. Fantastic value for us at £150 a night as we spent very little time in the apartment and all our time by the lake on the sunloungers!

The best holiday I have ever had.
Big pluses:
- location: stunningly beautiful
- private "beach" and jetty to dive into the lake from
- Eric & Robin: perfect hosts
- close to the water ferry: no need for a car - just use the water ferry & bus
- great cycling country
Slight bewares!
- can be a bit noisy from other guests: the walls arent that thick!
- it is the steepest road/path I have ever seen tio get down to the villa from the road. there is a lift, but it is still a haul up the path. If you have difficulties climbing stairs this is not for you
overall: 11/10. Magnificent, absolutely magnificent
