Washington, DCHome base for our honeymoon
Left on 02/25/2013 for a stay in May 2012
My wife and I knew we wanted to stay at Lake Como for our honeymoon, but we weren't exactly sure where. Luckily, she found the Lake Como Beach Resort and the trip was wonderful. Eric could not have been a more helpful and friendly host. He was always just a phone call away if we had a question or needed something. His advice most definitely made our stay easier and more relaxing. I have to give him major credit.
Our villetta was well kept and had a wonderful view out toward the lake, which you could see from the bed and was amazing to wake up to. There is a lawn area to sit and relax and even some sand up against the lake if you're in a beach mood. The lake was a bit cold for a dip in May (at least for us), but that didn't stop an australian couple who did it anyway!
My wife was a huge fan of visiting the grocery in Pognana Lario to pick up meats, cheeses, bread, fruit, and wine. That was our go-to place for snacks. They also had some great fresh pesto, which we ate with some pasta for dinner one night.
Honestly, it was a great place to stay and served us well as a hub for visiting the various towns around the lake. The public transport was easy to use, but be aware that the hours of operation were a bit limiting. I think my one piece of advice would be to rent a car. That way you can operate on your own schedule.
I would definitely suggest staying at the Lake Como Beach Resort. With all the help from Eric, it's simple and relaxing. Hopefully we'll make it back there ourselves. -

I stayed in lake como beach resort in Sept 2011. It really exceeded my expectations in so many ways. The views are incredible, no words can do them justice. I can think of no better place to lie and relax in sun. Possible negatives are the large amount of steps down to the villetas, if you have trouble with stairs this should be considered, although an elevator does let you skip a good number of them.
Travelling around the lake is no problem at all during the day, but you can find yourself a bit stuck after 6pm (things may have changed since Sept 2011 though). After a certain time the boats and buses stop, and you are forced to take a taxi, which is very costly. Hiring a car should be considered for travelling at night, be careful on this winding roads though :) Eric did come and pick us up from a restuarant one night, which was very good of him.
Eric is a great host and will go out of his way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. My girlfriend had severe toothache one time, and after asking Eric about where to obtain pain killers we returned to our villetta to find Eric had come and left her some. Also hiring a speedboat for about 4 hours one day and cruised up the lake to Mennagio, parked the boat up and hopped off for lunch - great novelty taking a boat to a restuarant.
Best food we had was at Salice Blu in Bellagio, chef Luigi picked us up in the town and took us to the restaurant. That man can cook, still the best meal i've ever had - the man may only look about 14 years old, and sounds a little like Borat from that movie, but boy can he cook! I would love to go back to the place some day, great memories that will last a life time :-) (guys out there, it would be a perfect place to propose) -

I've had relaxing holidays or weekends away before, but this place was a mile beyond. The water was clean and refreshing (and not cold, nor like a bath); Eric and Robin (the owners) were friendly and ever-accommodating; and the flat itself was brilliant - split-level, clean, with all the cooking stuff you need, great views from the upstairs balcony, tidy gardens outside your door, a good and strong shower, comfy deckchairs, comfy bed...
I could go on. And will. The chap who runs the local pub was friendly and helpful with directions and things like bus timetables, whilst the family who run the little supermarket and the butcher shop across the road from the pub were friendly (and the food was all you'd ever need).
We went up and down the lake by ferry a few times (over the week that we stayed), and it struck both of us, repeatedly, that the place to stay was mid-lake, where these villas are. The prettiest bit of the lake, not busy, and only minutes from the ferry stop.
The other guests - British, German, Italian, and French - were friendly; a mix of 30-something couples and young families. Never noisy. By day three, or so, we started talking about coming back, and which friends to ask along. -

Eric and his team were very helpful, especially with the bags on the steep access to the resort, which made it all the more interesting.
Pleasantly secluded with exceptional views of the lake and very comfortable and attractive accommodation -

The Lake Como Beach Resort is located on the lakefront so the outlook is beautiful and it is also only a 3 minute very pretty walk to the ferry pier. The apartments are well appointed with an upstairs bedroom and balcony and living/kitchen area downstairs. Each unit has a tight spiral staircase to access the upper story so we would recommend keeping luggage small and light. Eric and his assistant were extremely helpful at check-in time. Access to the resort is via a very steep driveway, an elevator and then a short easy walk. This could prove a bit challenging for the disabled but is easy enough for most people. We enjoyed our visit very much and would love to have another holiday there.

My wife and I have just returned from spending two weeks at the Lake Como Beach Resort. From the moment I made the first enquiry until the moment we left we couldn't have been better looked after. Robin, your attention to detail and the patience you displayed with all my endless questions before we arrived, was well beyond any service I've received anywhere else. On arrival everything we could possibly have hoped for, was as promised. Eric was there to greet us and take care of our luggage. We arrived after the shops had closed on a Monday, he wrote a shopping list and did a shop for us and then delivered it back. The next day whilst chilling on a sun lounger he asked us if we'd like to go in to Como on his speedboat, giving us a private guided tour all the way there. Every day he popped his head in to check that everything was OK and that we were happy. Such a refreshing approach. Eric your customer care is second to none!! If you want to get away from it all, switch off and relax, this place ticks all the boxes. The location is idyllic, a view that you could never tire of. Every morning waking to the sounds of the birds and the lapping of the water on the lake. We enjoyed many meals by the lake, many hours soaking up the sun on the beach terrace area and many hours feeding the ducks and swans. I can't recommend this property enough, it's stunning location is one thing, however the care and attention that both Robin and Eric gave was truly first class. After a very stressful year Villa Divino was quite simply the perfect place for us!! A million thanks Eric and Robin!! We'll be back!!

Thank you both for such a lovely review.
It was such a pleasure to have you both with us for two weeks in May.
It is very rewarding when our guests feel pampered and well taken care of.
That is our goal. Being able to come to the Lake Como Beach Resort to relax, unwind and enjoy the peace and tranquility of being on the Lake Como waterfront.
We care about our guests and want them to feel warm and welcome.
They are special and important to us.
We feel very fortunate and blessed to be able to meet such wonderful human beings.
Thank you !

Absolutely loved staying at this ideal location on Lake Como with the love of my life.
Waking up each morning to the spectacular lake views from the master bedroom was incredible.
We were centrally located on the lake a few minutes from downtown Como. Bellagio, a short 15 minutes away. Access to the waterfront villetta was easy and the ferry crossing was a short 5 minute walk away. The town had restaurants as well as grocery store with an excellent selection of foods for our stay. try the homemade Lasagna, made by Luisa the owner fantastic!
The villetta was very well equipped and decorated beautifully, with baskets and artwork from around the world. It felt like a home away from home. Very warm and homey feel.
The hosts were amazing and very welcoming and kind.
Eric, thank you for helping us find our way around and for all the great recommendations for local restaurants.
Thank you for your hospitality and exceptional care during our stay.
Having the beach and the dock and lido was an added bonus as we were able to rent a boat right off the dock to visit sites along the lakefront. Wonderful experience - don't miss the thrill!
George(Clooney), we came by, but you were not in. Maybe next trip.
Don't miss this exceptional gem on Lake Como! Superb accommodations.

EnglandGreat lakeside location
Left on 09/22/2011 for a stay in September 2011
We stayed here for part of our honeymoon and found the lakeside location a perfect spot for relaxing and enjoying the scenery. It was great to be right next to the water and be able to take a swim, and sunbathe at our own private area. Nice also to have BBQ use so can relax in the evenings rather than always eating out. The only thing I would say is access is quite tricky via very steep roads and paths so the mobility & age of guests should be seriously considered before booking to avoid feeling restricted. Owners Eric & Robin were lovely and extremely helpful & welcoming.

Thank you for your kind review.
We make sure to let all guests know that there are cobblestone roads all over the lake area. The road off the lake road down the driveway is steep, as are many in the terraced Como hills. If a guest has mobility issues, it would be best to stay in Como with no steps. Although we have an elevator there are still some steps.
All of these villages and roads have been here since the ancient roman times and are part of this area's past history.
Everything is kept in the old world tradition, part of the ambiance and charm of the lakes and Italy. -

We stayed with Eric and Robin for one week during an extended European vacation with our nine month old. We were going to be busy for the rest of our holidays and wanted to relax and enjoy fine weather. We were able to do both at Lake Como Beach Resort. The units are lovely and well equipped and Robin and Eric were sure to provide everything one could want to accomodate a small child or baby, i.e high chairs, bed and even a kiddie swimming pool for the garden and toys. The atmosphere in the neighborhood was very charming and we enjoyed our short excursions up the "Imbarcadero" road to the pup, grocery store or to the ferry. The ferry was conveniently nearby for day trips to Como and Bellagio. We did not have a car and Eric and Robin recommended an excellent English speaking chauffer to pick us up at the train station. There are lots of stairs and no laundry facilities but if you are prepared for this, Lcbr is a wonderful place to stay. I have already recommended it.

Thank you Kristen for the lovely review.
We have had a laundry facility in the works for some time and have received the o.k by the planning comission to put in a laundry facility at LCBR. It will be ready by Valentines Day 2012.
We have a private elevator and the stairs are part of the Lake Como landscape, as the villages that are scattered along the lake are terraced and quite ancient.
Thank you for the feedback. Our guests are very important to us.
It was a real pleasure having you and your family stay with us this summer. We are very happy that you had a great time and look forward to seeing you again in the future.

We spent two glorious week at the Lake Como Beach Resort with friends who also rented two other villettas and had a wonderful time. Our kids swam and played in the lake daily and explored the area , fed the duck and bbq'd in the moonlight at night. It was peaceful and tranquilwhere we just kicked our shoes off and relaxed. We were all professions and the resort is like family very non intrusive. We met lovely people from around the world. Eric and Robin were terrific hosts who were very warm and welcoming and had a bottle of wine for us on arrival. Overall a fantastic experience that we will come back to many time over.
This a very magical location on the lake. At make you think of all the important things you need to do for yourself and just relax and come back don to earth from all the daily stresses. Here, there are no stresses. Enjoy to the fullest, life is too short to miss any of this...
