Looking for spectacular ocean and mountain views, tranquility and luxurious comfort? Then you've found it all in this newly renovated waterfront home on a half acre, half way between Campbell River and Courtenay on Vancouver Island. The property is approximately a 2 hour drive from Nanaimo or 3 hours from Victoria. The Georgia Strait and Coastal Mountain views are the stars that soothe the soul but supporting acts include Bald Eagles hunting and feeding atop the waterfront trees, grey herons fishing on the beach, woodpeckers, hummingbirds, deer and so much more. There is a private sun deck with a BBQ and a patio set, an oceanfront fire pi...t, a small boat ramp and beach access. The landscaping is mature, natural and lovely. The beach at the property is a rock beach but the sandy beach is easily accessed by walking 5 to 10 minutes along the water's edge to Miracle Beach Provincial Park.

The 2 story home is very private and in a quiet residential area. The main floor living, dining, kitchen area is an open concept design in order to maximize the views. There are hardwood floors and heated tiles throughout the main floor and upgraded stainless steel appliances and granite countertops throughout. The living area has a new wood stove, surrounded by natural Vancouver Island stone and cedar. Above the fireplace is a flat screen TV with a top of the line 7.1 surround sound audio system with iPod docking station. The main bedroom offers its guest a large bathroom with a large walk in shower that has a multi-head shower system for two. There are also full laundry facilities and a guest bath with shower stall on this floor. All three bedrooms have beautiful views. Upstairs you will find carpet and heated tile. There are 2 bedrooms, one of which features a 4 piece bath that includes a tub and shower with an air massage system to wash away any lingering troubles. There is also an office area upstairs with wireless internet access that can also be accessed throughout the rest of the house. The kids will also love the secret play areas under the eaves in their twin bedroom. They may also like the TV and video game console for rainy days or when the adults want some quiet time to themselves. There is a selection of outdoor and indoor games, books, magazines, videos and music, as well as some local tourism brochures.

The Saratoga and Miracle Beach area is very popular with families. Amenities available within 10 minutes or less include The Saratoga Speedway, mini golf, a par 3 golf course, ice cream stand, post office, 2 grocery stores, liquor store, video store, pizza and coffee shop, art gallery, medical clinic, gas station, hardware store, kayaking tours, horseback riding, Miracle Beach Provincial Park with a sandy beach, nature house and amphitheatre is a 10 minute walk, Seaview Farms a working farm open to the public and offering tours, Saratoga Beach Marina and Resort, boating and fishing charters, and a restaurant and pub at the Salmon Point Resort.

The property is approximately 20 minutes driving time from the larger communities of the Comox Valley and Campbell River, both of which each have a hospital, movie theatres, golf courses, restaurants and stores. Mount Washington Ski and Hiking Resort is also approximately 20 minutes away.

One hour further north, the Comox Valley is not only home to the communities of Courtney and Comox but also the island's alpine sports destination: Mt. Washington boasts 60 runs, a high-speed quad chair, a fixed-grip quad (among other lifts) and a vertical drop of over 500 meters. It's easy to see why visitors from the world over make this their skiing destination.
Like your recreation a little warmer and wetter? Take a detour to the island's west Pacific Coast and experience the awesome, wave-crashing majesty of Long Beach, the surfer mecca that stretches between the towns of Ucluelet and Tofino.
Simply put? If you haven't experienced Vancouver Island, you haven't really experienced British Columbia.
Vancouver Island is located off of the west side of Canada and is easily accessible by plane, boat and car. In order to drive to the island from Vancouver you must use the BC Ferries system so please check the schedule before departing. Victoria has a large International Airport that has daily flights to and from Seattle and Vancouver as well as many other destinations. The east side of the island is accessible by car, bus and train. Most of the west side of the island is best accessed by 4x4 as most of the roads are very rugged and much of this part of the island is true wilderness. Please make sure you let someone know where you are going and when you are returning if you intend to head into the back country.
