Wayside Cottage is an end terraced cottage in the village of Edmundbyers near to Consett in County Durham. The cottage has one double bedroom and a bathroom, making it ideal for a romantic break for two. Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.

arrived jan in the thick snow,, julie had rang earlier to give us the best directions to the village.
wine, milk, fresh flowers and logs for fire on arrival, snowed in 3 days didnt care the cottage was so warm cosy and only 10 footsteps from local pub -

The cottage is situated in a very quiet village. The kitchen is more a galley style, the equipment for all the cooking we did is there. The living room is well designed, comfortable and cosy. I would suggest you take with you some more logs for the burner, the owners do leave you a couple of days worth along with firelighters. The bedroom has a king size bed and an old wooden floor, it creaks a bit, adds to the feel of the cottage. I would recommend this for any couple who want time on their own, with or without a pet. The place is a great centre for walking. With towns and cities within easy reach. The cottage was clean, a welcome pack of milk, wine, logs etc.. As a couple with the dog, it couldn't have been better

directions not clear upon entering village, but very welcoming owners and nice to have refreshments on hand upon arrival. quiet local pub directly opposite, great cycling round reservoir.
