Hi Kim. I wanted to tell you again what a great time we had staying at your place. The makeshift third bedroom for me worked out perfectly; so glad you encouraged me to go that route. The place was great and we felt completely welcome and at home. I appreciate the little extras like your artwork on the walls, the beautiful table setting in the dining area and your last-minute printing of my wedding speech.
Thanks again so much for everything. My Mum, my nieces and I had a fantastic time. It was an absolute pleasure.

Vermilion, ABCombs Cottage - this cottage will be hard to beat!

We really enjoyed our stay at Coombs Cottage. The spacious rooms; the quiet, private setting; proximity to the Parksville/Coombs townsites; the many amenities and features offered...and the beautiful artwork featured throughout the cottage...all exceeded our expectations. Having a spare bedroom for our son to use on the weekends was an added plus. It is a perfect place to relax and unwind.
Taking pottery/painting lessons capped off the stay making it perfect. I learned so much, gained confidence, had a great time 'creating'alongside Kim and came home with finished pieces. Sincere thanks - it was a great experience. -

I spent 3 days with family and friends in this nice cottage. We enjoyed the beautiful garden and appreciated very much the friendliness of our hostess who was very helpful by recommending the sights of the area and also invited us in the evening to join campfire.

Hi Kim,
I would just like to let you know we had an absolute wonderful time at your cottage for the Thanksgiving Weekend. The beds were comfortable and the great room was the perfect size to host our family Thanksgiving dinner. My girlfriend and her husband joined us from Calgary at the last minute so that we could celebrate her birthday"50th" together and they also had a wonderful time. We were just sorry that the gallery was closed as we really enjoyed all your art in the cottage. Next time out that way we will definately have to book to stay there again.
Ps I hope your house sitter enjoyed the oysters.

Coombs cottage was charming, spacious and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The exterior is surrounded by trees, is beautifully decorated and is very well kept which made the outside as tranquil and inviting as the inside. I would certainly come back for another stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet and peaceful vacation.

We had a wonderful vacation at Coombs cottage. The kids enjoyed the many things to do such as the pond, trails, walks, animals etc. The cabin was very comfortable, clean and cozy. My only suggestion would be to maybe add another bathroom. We stayed with 6 people and at times found another washroom would be handy. Otherwise I would recommed to both friends and family. Thank you Hancock family!

Coombs Cottage is run by a family of 4 and 3 pets who are all friendly and helpful! Wow!!
The natural setting of the cottage gives one a sense of peace and calm. The cottage was clean, comfortable and quaint. Lots of room for 6 of us to do what we wanted. Would have liked one more toilet and sink. The pond, trails and playground on the property were fantastic for kids (12 and 9).
It's 10 minutes from the ocean, grocery stores and restaurants, and 2 minutes from Coombs which is funky and a "must visit" place.
Great neighborhood for evening walks!
Kim's love of nature is reflected in her beautiful art, which is readily available for viewing and for learning to do through her classes.
A truly unique holiday experience. Thanks to the whole family!!Response from Kim Hancock - 08/27/2011

Kim Hancock, Artist and owner of Coobms Cottage, along with her children and husband were charming, easy going and very welcoming. I visited with my 3 children ages 3,6 and 8, along with my friend and her 2 children; 4 and 7. This was the perfect place to stay with kids. There were trails running through woods on their beautifully kept 5 acre property plus swings and a trampoline. The kids were so occupied I don't think they would have minded a bit if we hadn't gone sight seeing for the 3 days we stayed. There was plenty of space in the cottage. It seemed to absorb us all and was ideal for our needs. It was also a very short drive to Parksville and close to many other places worth visiting. It really was a charming place to stay.

The cottage was spacious and had everything I needed. Especially for cooking my own food. The living area is great, tonnes of space to move. Also, the surrounding trees make it very tranquil and peaceful. I'd definitely stay here again!

Coombs Cottage is an exceptional value. It has all of the amenities a family could hope for nestled in a secluded and tranquil location that is close to all of the local attractions. The Cottage has been beautifully designed and is spotlessly clean. The service is warm and friendly.

Upon arrival we were greeted by owner Kim Hancock, who ensured we had all we needed for the weekend. The cottage is very well equiped, and comfy. Loved it`s open concept floor plan and the art work throughout the space.
It is close to so many interesting shops and nature related opportunites to discover.
There was snow on the grounds while we were there so looking forward to a spring - summer visit to explore their acreage.
Kim also offers painting and pottery classes for anyone feeling creative, right on site. Plus she has a wonderful art gallery to snoop and shop at.
We really enjoyed our stay, the property was so private, yet close to so many activities. -

We had so much fun at Coombs Cottage - Such a comfy and charming place to stay for our girls weekend. We slept 6 at the cottage, and cooked our "gourmet" meals in the well equipped kitchen!
Having the arts afire art Studio on the same property was a total bonus! Coombs was a fun little place to poke around in. We went out for coffee, shopped and visited the little town of Qualicum Beach as well . -

We stayed with our 2 kids last summer and had a fantastic time. The cottage is very quaint and peaceful with all the modern amenities so we had a very comfortable stay. A play-yard was made available for our littlest one which helped alot. The kids could play safely and carefully in the main room and we were lent a bunch of toys for them to play with. I rarely sleep as soundly as I did there; maybe it was the hot days and cool nights but also the quiet surroundings. The cottage is surrounded by beautiful trees and there are walking paths and a pond nearby. We were a short drive from some very beautiful beaches and close to the famous Coombs market where there are goats on the roof! Highly recommended, you will likely leave completely rejuvenated as we did.

We stayed for 3 nights at Coombs Vacation Rental and enjoyed the comfort of a fabulous bed, the interior beauty of cottage, the ease of the kitchen area and the rural setting and garden. We bought some beautifuy pottery (just in time for Christmas gifting) and enjoyed time with our kids, exploring spectacular Cathedral National Park nearby and a day trip to Englishman River. We also had a hoot at Coomb's Market, just minutes away, enjoying great food and some fabulous shopping! Our mini holiday was more than we expected and we look forward to a return visit in the summer!
