A modern well appointed purpose-built cottage nestled amongst large red gums and exotic trees in the highly acclaimed 10 acre ‘Camawald’ garden at Coonawarra in the South East of South Australia. The cottage consists of two bedrooms each with an ensuite bathroom separated by a fully equipped kitchen / dining / living area. Provisions for a full breakfast are supplied.These include organically grown local products when possible. Undercover barbecue facilities are provided. Camawald Cottage is situated amidst farmland and vineyards 1.7kms along picturesque Rocky Castle Road which runs east off the main Naracoorte / Penola Road. It is 35kms from Naracoorte, well known for its heritage listed Naracoorte Caves, 15kms from the bird sanctuary of Bool Lagoon, 15kms from historic Penola and in the heart of the wine growing region of Coonawarra. The region's centre of Mount Gambier with its famous Blue Lake is 65kms or 3/4 hour's drive away. The picturesque coastal village of Robe is also only an hour's drive away

We can,t say enough about this amazing retreat, if u are looking for rest and relaxation, with excellent food and wine tasting thrown in for good measure this is the place for you.
The view from the front patio is spectacular, the gardens are a joy to behold and the hospitality was sublime.
We would love to return someday.

Stayed here last weekend with my daughter and two friends. Sue was a great host and the house was beautifully presented. We used the house as a base for a weekend of wine tasting in the Coonawarra and also to go to a wedding in Mt Gambier (approx. 40 min drive away). We chose to stay in the Coonawarra rather than Mt Gambier and we are glad that we did. The breakfast provisions were lovely - fresh farm eggs, conserves, sauces, stewed fruit and homemade yogurt. We were slightly disappointed that bacon and wine were not included (as per other guests comments in the comment book) but otherwise we were extremely happy with our stay. We highly recommended the cottage and we hope to return one day. Note tthat Wifi is not provided and some people had poor phone/internet coverage on their phones.

Thankyou for your positive comments about your stay at Camawald Cottage B&B. The bottle of wine is offered when a booking is for three nights or more along with reduced daily rates. Bacon is on the menu in the cooler months when fresh home grown tomatoes are not available.
We are able to offer WiFi but from the homestead as the cottage is out of range. Both Telstra & Optus have very good mobile phone coverage
in our area as in most country districts whereas Vodaphone does not.

My husband and I stayed at Camawald Cottage in October 2012 for three nights for our wedding anniversary and birthday. Thank you for the bottle of local sparkling wine to help us celebrate Sue!! The cottage is very comfortable and beautifully appointed, the 10 acres of gardens are glorious and John and Sue are incredibly thoughtful and generous hosts. We fed chooks, John drove us around the farm, and every day, in addition to glorious breakfast provisions, Sue gave us a loaf of her fabulous home baked bread. We were also given her home made jams (yummy) excellent advice about which wineries to visit and so on. The cottage is in an excellent location as it is away from the main road which can be pretty noisy. We could not have been happier and we are planning to stay there again this year.

This B&B; is one of the best places we have ever stayed in. It is very well furnished and decorated and set in a most beautiful garden. The owners are extremely friendly and took pleasure in showing us their lovely garden and grounds. Breakfast ingredients were provided including home made bread, jams, fruit compotes and yoghurt, as well as eggs from their own hens. Thoroughly recommended and we wished we could have stayed more than one night.

Sue & John Zwar owners of this B & B deserve a First prize medal for the best place to stay on this earth.
The welcome makes you feel you are family returning home. The cottage is so comfortable with first class bedding and fittings. The breakfast provided is unbelievable. Home cooked fruit, stewed quinces and apples for us, huge helping of bacon and eggs, homemade bread and an amazing array of homemade jams and chutneys.
The surrounding gardens are so beautiful and we were given access to enjoy walks through the entire property. We helped feed the new born lambs and were accompanied by three loving and very well behaved dogs.
The location to the Coonawarra was ideal.
I wish we could have stayed for much longer.
