1. It is a 4 story 2007 built private home on a gated street in the middle of the tourist zone of Copacabana.
2. There are 4 suites with elegant baths + 2 poolside small cabanas which shared baths.
3. The Metro is across the street and the Copacabana beach 3 blocks away. Main shopping 50 feet away.
4 . The house is rented with staff and includes a very full American breakfast. There is a cook who will for a fee prepare snacks, lunches, and other meals. You can rent the house without staff except a daily maintenance man.
5. There is a private third floor pool BBQ and sun deck.
6. The house is run by a multilingual concierge who will arrange all transfers, tours, reservations, and child care.
7. The house is equipped with a kitchen, china, crystal, silver to provide food service for up to 80 guests for functions.
8 It's a family home - cozy enough for three couples to have a great vacation spot and personal attention BUT like any family home there are lots of cabanas sofas etc where we can welcome a student group or bunch of friends.
9. We could provide a short rental for special shooting, etc. but there is a minimum of 3 days for a rental.
The villa is organized on 4 levels around a central atrium. All rooms open to this vaulted space via balconies, gardens, or a glass roof which electronically opens to the night sky and marvelous moon views. Level one is a grand stone entrance foyer off the little street with entrance doors from a former old Gloria mansion. A great modern kitchen contains every possible culinary gadget, huge island with bar stools, complete business center, and enough antique porcelain to serve 100. Off the kitchen is the new decorated atrium (morning room) and a grand dining room. The atrium fireplace and over mirror is undergoing completion by the artist who completed faux painting in the restored Teatro Municipal Opera house. The dining room is great for a family having breakfast or a sit down for 24. Off these rooms is the wood paneled library with TV/Cinema area and our very special antique Titanic model which the house staff presented to the owner.
There is a small stone powder room off the back stone stairway. All of the major public floor rooms have fireplaces and make for a great family space. At Christmas - the 15 foot Christmas tree is decorated by the children of the villa staff and we have our annual holiday party and open house.
The second floor suites open by three pairs of antique french doors or stained glass windows to the atrium. Each room makes for a great private sleeping and entertaining space as sofas and easy chairs make it quite comfy. The third floor is accessed by a stone stairway (our little Budda in the corner) and panels of native birds and stained glass and a collection of both naif art and the owners original interior sketches for the house on the walls.
Once you open the door to the 3rd and 4th floor levels - you see the pool with its lion fountain, a small sitting area with our bird in cages and the all local birds drinking out of the feeders. Our roof seems to be the greenest spot in the neighborhood and attracts lots of birds and butterflies. We try to keep it in flower year around with hanging planters, placas of bromiliads and orchids. There are two small cabanas off of this walkway which are kind of like 18th century wood ship cabins. They share a bath with shower. They have desks with plenty of storage, hundreds of books, and are comfy and cool little spots - full of character. Both cabanas can sleep 2 or 3. At the end of the garden walk is a separate building which houses the Bali House -a separate structure with two floors - a king size loft above and huge living room below which sleeps 4 on the banquette single beds. This house has a separate bath and shower with chicken coop type windows which look thru the glass roof all the way to the first floor.
The villa is available as a rental with only one maid to change linens and make beds for guests who want total privacy. On the other hand - the villa has a huge staff for the family or group who wants and needs lots of attention. The daily rental fee depends on the services guests need and is priced well as compared to the five star hotel.Read more

Part 1 - We (a couple) stayed at the Villa for 3 nights in October (2013). Adan arranged for our evening pick up at the airport, and he emailed us enroute from the airport to the Villa to make sure we were safe and comfortable. After an unexpectedly short drive, we arrived at the Villa and our bags were carried upstairs to the main bedroom on the 2nd floor (the one with windows overlooking the street).
The main bedroom was air-conditioned, had television (which we never watched) and a spacious ensuite marble and glass bathroom. The bathroom has a large Jacuzzi and sizeable separate walk in shower, and many lights and fixtures. Most appealing. Also, the water throughout the Villa is filtered, so you may feel safe drinking it. There's also a comprehensive guide (kept in the kitchen) to the Villa and the environs that is of enormous assistance (for sight-seeing, restaurants, shopping etc), as well as extensive library geared to the Rio visitor.
The Villa, though of fairly recent new construction, has the feeling of a lovingly restored and furnished country estate home, albeit one with tropical plants, parrots, and a rooftop swimming pool. The owner has decorated it in a variety of compatible styles, and it features rich and ornate French doors throughout, comfortable sofas and chairs covered in rich fabrics, a jaw-dropping crystal chandelier over a big dining room table, and a chef's kitchen. The large kitchen has windows overlooking the street, three sinks, cabinets full of china, drawers filled with silverware, all modern and high-end appliances and several bar stools for countertop dining. One longed for a docent to guide us through the Villa and describe each of the varied objects of art and antique pieces, as well as all the many stone and architectural features of the house.

It is impossible to describe all the detail that makes this house rock.
Perfect location, unbelievable design and décor, luxury yet a feel like you are in your own house.
The flower garden and pool are so fine and watching movies at night on the projector television while floating in that pool with
gas lights burning rank as my #1 of my travel memories.
The recommendations of adan the concierge were right on target. Marcos our driver has become a friend.
Thank you all. You know how to be there without being there - a pretty hard feat.
In fact we chose the vila for our dream weeding next year!
So many details... A dream come true!
We can't wait!

I and my group of friends are pretty frequent Brazilian travelers and this year opted for a fee days in Rio and then Carnaval in Salvador Bahia ( a first experience). The three nights at the villa were so packed full of delight - that I am glad we choose not to stay in a beachfront hotel. I did not have clear expectations about what a house rental would be like but with the size of hte group and the non availability of affordable rooms - short stay in the villa ws the unly solution. Great fortune on our part.
So much has been written that is difficult to say more. Everything about this incredible house and its staff and its style of making you at home is worthy of an award.
I spent one morning in the library with the house guest book which I retrieved fro mthe entry hall table, reading all the messages from people all over the world who have stayed here and penned their wishes and feelings. It is obvious that this place has quite a fan club and I am but the newest member. Thank you Michael and adan for all your superb planning and creative thinking. Thank yoy Kelly, Marcia, and Marcos for your kind care. You occupy a special place with us. No one does it better than you guys. I fear it will be hard to reserve relatively late as we did this time.

This was a special family vacation and our first in Rio de Janeiro. Adan, Paula, Kelly and Marcia were super hosts and we left feeling like we had made a perfect choice in reserving this house.
It is both beautiful yet so homey and charming. A lot of thought has gone into creating this very special place. And a lot more thought into how to give guests an experience that they are unlikely to forget. Our family of 17 ranges in ages from 3 to 82 and everyone was enchanted. The staff just seemed to really enjoy all of the children around. The last dinner at the Villa was one which will always be with us. A great family candlelit dinner with an incredible cake baked by Marcia. Unbelievable. Adan and the owner had bought gifts and wrapped them and had them under the incredible atrium Christmas tree. Little things but they meant so very much to us all.
The Villa gets the very top rating in all the email communications with Michael (the owner) and all of the help in many phone calls helping us arranging our days tour. Another top rating to the huge Villa Manual which we received before our trip covering so many suggestions and wealth of information. Marcos our driver was like part of the family after the week. We are talking about a return trip but unfortunately Olympics is not available. But we will return.

Everyting about the villa rental was over top - from the first email response from the owner - thru the meticulous planning with him - the week of Rio expenses - and the farewell they threw for us. It is one thing to rent a house and a enjoy a city. It is totally different experience for me to have a group go so far out of their way to make sure we experienced the best of their city and saw things that we could not have quite imagined.
We met Michael the owner on our last morning there and he got an ovation when he walked in. Their villa manual is unique and better than any single guidebook on Rio de Janeiro.
Our thanks to adan, the wonderful maids, our drivers, and our superb chef - Marcia. Your birthday cake was truly an amazing and beautiful surprise. To find out you made all those different flowers yourself was amaizing. This house is graced with beauty, laughter, and love.

Every detail about the Villa was a+++. The owner was apologetic that he could not offer a longer stay but worked with my family and I to house us in 2 properties during our week vacation in Rio de Janeiro. I can see why it is called the marvelous city.
The villa is far more beautiful in reality than the pics on the internet could ever demonstrate. The gardens a riot of flowers and colors along with the menagerie of birds. All major rooms in the house including our bedrooms had freshened flowers daily. The staff is beyond compare. Such a bunch of sweet, dedicated, and smiling young people who obviously enjoy their work. We have never felt so well cared for in any hotel or private home rental.
Breakfast daily was a treat. The guides and drivers arranged by adan were fun and became fast buddies with some of our teenagers. I don't think it would be possible to have sampled more of true Rio life than that which was provided for us by Mike and his team. The only incredible Christmas decoration we saw while we were in Rio was at the villa - and it was over the top.
There is no single guide book about spending time in Rio that I would rank highly as the one that villa sent us shortly after our reservation. We enjoyed Copacabana much more than Ipanema as we were made to feel so at home there. Even our last night in Rio which had to be spent at the neighboring hotel since there was another party checking in was special. The staff moved us in and it was pretty clear that the hotel staff knows and pampers the villa guests.

In July of this year, my husband and I exchanged our vows in the heart of Brazil, Rio de Janeiro. With guests from america and Brazil, we wanted to provide a mixture of cultures with a combination of classy, intimate and a lot of fun. My first concern was where I would put my american family- from my cousin's two year old to my grandma. As we searched for different hotel prices, I came across a wedding blog of a woman whom had not only hosted her family at the Villa, but also had her wedding there. I immediately sent an inquiry which was answered in as little as 24 hours. Within that same week, the owner, Michael called me to discuss my wedding plans and provide an idea of what he could create in case I wanted to have my reception there.
My family, which included 15 people, stayed comfortably in the Villa for the week of my wedding. Restaurants were suggested, homemade meals were made for us and everybody felt at home. We even had our dogsitter fall through and Michael's solution was to just bring the dogs with! This is an owner who will make sure that your vacation is relaxing. He will go out of his way to make sure that you are happy.
On the day of our wedding, our only responsibility was to get dressed and arrive at the church. Our ceremony was no more than an hour and by the time our 60 guests arrived at the villa, it had completely transformed. The appetizers were out of this world and some were even passed out by the Villa staff. A bar had been put in where our guests could order typical Brazilian drinks. Everybody was having fun. The dinner- amazing. Michael accommodated to my vegetarian needs and let me tell you, the bride did not go hungry. Anytime I return to Rio with a group, I will look no further than The Villa. My friends and family walked away saying that it was the best wedding party they had ever been to. People are still talking about the music, drinks, food and staff.

2 dance groups totalling 33 people stayed at this beautiful home! We felt like movie stars. We paid extra for 2 superb dinners and ate together like a family. The meals were beyond fabulous! We also paid extra to have our transportation to and from the airport and have a brief city tour. It was perfect to have all arrangements made by the owner, Michael. He was very good at maintaining contact and assuring me that all would go perfectly as planned and it did!
We were very fortunate to also have Michael, the owner, make arrangements to also rent part of the home next door to accomodate the rest of our group for sleeping purposes.
The home is so beautiful straight out of a magazine! Minutes from the beach, safe neighborhood and the best staff you could ever expect!
Congratulations Michael, and staff(Adan, Sonia, Marcia, Paula & Jairo) for a job well done! We loved every minute of our stay in Rio!

This villa is simpy spectacular! The villa is huge and wonderfully furnished. From the moment we entered the front door, we were impressed...and we are not a group that is easily impressed. From the gourmet kitchen to the three story retractable glass atrium roof...did I say spectacular! Every turn in this villa is filled with wonderful surprises. The third floor roof top pool is a wonderful place to hang out for cocktails after a long day at the beach. Each of the three second floor bedrooms has an en suite bath. The third floor has additonal sleeping space for six! The wood paneled library is a great place to enjoy movies on the flat screen TV.
Denise, Simone, and Jonathan were awesome when it came to preparing meals, shopping, and taking care of any issues that came up during our visit. Jonathan was always right around the corner if we had any questions about anything operational.
Everything about our vacation was made easy and simple by our central location (three blocks from Copacabana Beach) and our attentive staff!
If you are planning a trip to Rio, you will do no better than here...We would stay here again, and again, and again!

Nothing less than spectacular can describe our recent experience in this Rio de Janeiro rental. A group of friends and I decided to rent a house to accommodate our large group of fourteen rather than stay in a hotel. We inquired about a number of units we discovered on the internet, but the amenities offered in this unit were difficult if not impossible to beat. The rental application process was very easy and straight forward. Prior to our departure date, the owner was very accessible to answer any questions or concerns that we had regarding our trip. He provided a number of "tips” and other information that we later found to be very helpful. Upon arrival, we were "blown away”! The house was simply amazing and the pictures do it little justice. The rooms were immaculate. I found the kitchen and the rooftop deck to be the most impressive. The kitchen had every kitchen tool imaginable and the rooftop deck was perfect for drinks and conversation by the pool. However, although we found the house to be awesome, it was truly the personal service that we received that I believe sets this unit apart from any other rental you will find. The staff was phenomenal from the time that we arrived until the time we left making themselves available to assist us with anything we needed. From taking us around the neighborhood to show us where the local money exchange, market, and gym were located to assisting us with planning a tour of the local sites, the service exceeded our expectations. The owner's attention to detail was further illustrated in his unique collection of books, videos, and CDs on Brazilian history and culture available in the house library. For anyone considering renting a house in Brazil that is convenient to a number of local points of interest and is looking to be spoiled by the service, this is the house for you. I would highly recommend this rental.

I just loved this villa. All the comforts of home and then some. It was beautifully decorated and the rooftop pool and garden really put it over the top. The location was ideal - close to the beach and many stores and restaurtants.
The service was outstanding!!! Denise and Simone were wonderful hosts and made us feel welcome & comfortable.
Rio was fabulous in large part due to the superior accommodations we had. Would stay here again & again and highly recommend this villa to anyone travelling to RIO

I have nothing but good things to say about this fabulous property. The location was fantastic as it was very close to the beach and provided easy access to other locations in Rio. It is tucked away down a private lane which is very quiet and provides a magical escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The house itself is nothing short of spectacular. It is beautifully appointed and it is clear that attention has been paid to every detail. The house is warm and comfortable and provided plenty of space for our group of 9. The rooftop pool was a wonderful place to unwind after a day of touring. The staff was also fantastic. The house manager, Jonathan, was very helpful and Denise prepared fantastic breakfasts for us and was very accommodating to our ever-changing schedules. (She also makes a mean caipirinha). I would not hesitate to stay there again and will certainly recommend this property to anyone I know who is traveling to Rio.
